Study Programme Overview Our full-time study programmes are designed to maximise your career prospects and widen your options for further or higher study. This course has been designed to introduce you to the world of business. You will study pathways including Business Administration, Business Enterprise and Working Effectively in Business. As part of the programme you will investigate business practices and create business ideas, alongside developing essential business and administrative skills. You will continue to study essential maths and English as well as employability skills.

Entry Requirements Ideally you will have a GCSE profile of mainly 3-1grades, including Maths and English and a reference from your previous school or college. You need to be motivated to learn and have good attendance and punctuality.

Work experience is an integral part of our study programmes, enabling you to gain essential exposure to the world of work.
For each unit, you will complete a number of assignments and activities. These will include a mixture of:

business & professional services Accounting Apprenticeship Level 2 the best young business professionals! get into career mode
Apprenticeship Overview Our Apprenticeship programmes will give you vital hands-on experience, learning from real life situations, with the guidance of industry professionals. You’ll gain the skills and confidence needed to excel in your chosen career. Working in finance gives you a real insight into how an organisation operates and provides the chance to make a real difference to business performance. Students who have secured a position as an accounting apprentice attend College one day per week to complete the AAT Level 2 qualification. The course is a great way to build on your skills and gain a recognised qualification whilst also earning a salary.
What You’ll Learn The AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting is comprised of: • Book-keeping Transactions • Book-keeping Controls • Elements of Costing • Working Effectively in Finance • Using Accounting Software
If necessary, you will also complete Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 2. Most of your qualification will be gained in the workplace, although you will attend sessions in College that will cover essential areas of your training. During your Apprenticeship, you will be taught and supported by experienced accounting tutors. You will also have your own Work Based Tutor who will provide support and guidance during your time in the workplace.
Entry Requirements You’ll need enthusiasm, motivation and a keen interest in your chosen sector. To complete an Apprenticeship you will need an employer who is willing to support you throughout your training. If you have not found one, we can help you with your search. We’d like to see a proven track record of very good attendance at work/school, along with a good reference from school/a previous employer. We also ask that you have a satisfactory level of English and maths.

You’ll gain the skills and confidence needed to excel in your chosen career. If you’re good with numbers and enjoy managing your finances, then an Accounting Apprenticeship could be for you. Training in accountancy would enable you to work across a range of sectors. Depending on what the client needs, you could audit accounts, forecast future profits or calculate tax. Working in finance provides the chance to make a real difference to business performance. The course is a great way to build on your skills and gain a recognised qualification whilst also earning a salary.

As a Paralegal you will support Lawyers and law firms by managing and maintain data and records, assist with and draft legal documents and forms, carry out research for legal cases, communicate with internal and external clients and assist with the inception, progression and completion of client files. The course is a great way to build on your skills and gain a recognised qualification whilst also earning a salary.
What You’ll Learn You could be working for a legal partnership or a large legal firm but you will be at the forefront of providing legal support to both customers and legal representatives. Typical activities that may be carried out, but are not exclusive to this role include:
• Managing data/records • Reviewing documents • Drafting and producing legal documents and standard forms • Assisting with the inception, progress and completion of client files • Carrying out research • Handling confidential and sensitive information • Understanding and utilising basic financial information • Communicating (written and oral) with internal and external clients Most of your qualification will be gained in the workplace although you will attend sessions in College that will cover essential areas of your training. During your Apprenticeship you will be taught and supported by experienced business law tutors. You will also have your own Work Based Tutor who will provide support and guidance during your time in the work place.

You will also require Maths and English GCSEs at grade 4 or above. Individual employers will also have their own entry requirements in addition to this. How will I be Assessed? You’ll complete a portfolio throughout your Apprenticeship, then be graded by an End Point Assessment. The End Point Assessment consists of two written and timed scenario assessments, and an interview which will be supported by your portfolio of evidence.

With additional training, apprentices may be able to progress in their careers to roles such as: • A Paralegal, earning between £14,000 and £40,000 per year. • A Legal Secretary, earning between £18,000 and £45,000 per year. • A Legal Executive, earning between £15,000 to £100,000 per year.
