Our customised Pre-Professionals Programme helps our students to accomplish their career goals: Individualised academic guidance and career planning: No two students are exactly alike, which is why we treat all of our learners as individuals; each learner has a dedicated Learning Development Mentor and a Career Coach to help them create both academic and career plans, in line with their individual needs and goals.

Guide to Admissions
The Bolton College Pledge: We guarantee a place to applicants who apply for a programme by 1st June*. The Admissions Team work with all academic departments to ensure that applicants receive a smooth and efficient service, helping them to make the easiest possible move to College. Here are a few frequently asked questions your pupil or young person may have:

1. When will I hear something about my application? We’ll confirm we have received your application then text/email you with your interview date and a link to book your chosen time. You can also call us to book an interview time once you have received your invite. Important: please keep your mobile number and email address up-to-date. 2. How often do interviews take place? Every subject interviews at least once a month on either a Wednesday or a Thursday. 3. What is a ‘conditional offer’? A conditional offer is a promise that we will provide you with a College place as long as you achieve certain criteria. This could include obtaining particular GCSE grades, finding a suitable work placement or receiving a satisfactory reference. At your interview you will be given a ‘Details of Course Offer’ form explaining the outcome of the interview.
Your offer will be confirmed to you in writing. We’ll also send your parent/carer an email. 4. When can I enrol? We start our enrolments on GCSE results day in August. We’ll let you know your enrolment day and time no later than the end of June. 5. What happens if I don’t get the GCSE grades? Don’t panic! We will give you impartial information, advice and guidance about your options. 6. How do I make changes to my contact details? Exclusive
football training kicks off at Bolton College Bolton College and Bolton Wanderers Community Trust (BWCT) have forged an exciting partnership that will bring an exclusive Football Academy to young people in the North West. Academy students will perfect their skills at Bolton Wanderers’ training ground, where they will receive expert coaching from Community Trust professionals. Outside of training, learners will study for a BTEC in Sport, a qualification that can lead to an apprenticeship, university or employment. Click here to find out more

Bolton College’s sports student and cycling champ Kiera Byland has won three gold medals at the Special Olympics World Games - bringing her haul of Olympic medals to SIX!
Kiera flew out to Abu Dhabi to represent Team GB in three cycling events. In 2015, she won three gold medals at the Special Olympics in Los Angeles, which means she’s equalled the feat of her hero Sir Chris Hoy and Bolton’s Jason Kenny.
Prior to travelling to the Games, Kiera was surprised by tutors and fellow learners with a good luck party, organised by the College’s Curriculum Lead for Sports & Public Services, Mike Bruns. Kiera’s inspiring achievements mean that since returning to the UK, she’s made several appearances in newspapers and on national TV, inspiring a whole new generation of athletes. What an achievement well done Kiera!

Bolton College’s Early Years students reign supreme! Bolton College students have won a prestigious Early Years competition. Childcare learners competed against students from nine other colleges for the annual Greater Manchester College Group’s (GMCG) Skills Competition. After completing a series of tasks testing the learners’ knowledge and expertise, Bolton College were crowned overall winners.

‘My course at Bolton College was the perfect foundation for working in performing arts; from day one, I was training to be a professional and I experienced a variety of specialisms including acting, dance and singing. After College, I progressed to university and got a degree in Drama, before I completed a Masters. I now do outreach work for Liverpool Hope University across the North West – I deliver workshops in schools, colleges, prisons and hospitals – every day is different and I’ve worked hard to carve out a career that I love and am passionate about.’
