Pathways to Progression enables you to sample different career areas before choosing the right one for you. All of our courses are practical and include local work experience. They provide flexible pathways that can lead on to a full-time vocational programme at College or into voluntary/paid employment.

Progress to Success Ideal for learners who are keen to progress straight to the world of work. You will join the course to gain better or relevant qualifications that will enable you to progress onto mainstream vocational courses, training Apprenticeships, Higher Education or employment. You’ll also take part in a 30 hour work experience placement.

Building Confidence for Life and Work If you struggle to engage with education due to mental health needs the aim of this course is to build yourconfidence to engage successfullyin education and become the bestyou possible.You’ll benefit from creative and enterprise projects, develop your employability skills and improve your maths and English. You’ll also enjoy enrichment and take part in work experience.

This course is ideal if you’re interested in gaining qualifications and experience in the Health & Social Care sector and includes a work placement with a local employer.

Skills for Independence: For learners with learning difficulties & disabilities
Skills for Independence provides the opportunity for learners with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities to progress their life experience, confidence and maths and English. This is achieved through further learning, developing independence and completing work experience. Our programmes provide a range of opportunities to personalise progression to the next level. The programmes focus on developing employability skills, independence, maths and English, and enterprise skills, with ‘Enterprise Week’ and competitions running throughout the year. Embedded in the programmes are vocational tasters, enrichment activities and a work experience placement.

Workskills
Workskills are a study programme primarily based with an employer in the local area. Workskills enables young people aged 16-18 or 16-24 with an Education, Health & Care Plan to learn and develop skills needed within the workplace. Alongside time with the employer young people will complete a personalised study programme to develop English, maths and employability skills.
Foundation Studies offers new opportunities with smaller class sizes, an informal approach to teaching and focused support. You’ll get to sample different vocational course areas before choosing the right one for you.
workskills If you’re aged 16-24 with an education, health and care plan, this course aims to develop your employability skills and is primarily based with an employer in the local area.

Step into Employability - delivered at both Entry Level 2 & 3
This will help you to develop your employability skills and is a great introduction to the different vocational options available at Bolton College. The course has been designed if you have learning difficulties and/ordisabilities.You will also attend a workplacement and take part in enrichment activities throughout the year.
