Dear WelcomeReader,
 toStronger

by Nature™ – an informational magazine covering common women’s health topics, with a focus on pre, peri, menopause and postmenopause. We’ve sought to offer expert-reviewed and educationbased articles on the common (and sometimes uncommon) symptoms of menopause, providing solutions in the form of lifestyle changes, dietary tweaks, or prescription/non-prescription options.

In this issue, we cover the popular topic of vaginal probiotics, specifically discussing why taking one may help to ease certain menopause symptoms. We also discuss a common, yet not so commonly talked about symptom of weakened or absent orgasms. While frustrating, we offer a few ways to address this symptom. We also provide several helpful tips on how small diet changes can positively or negatively impact your hormones.

Lastly, we know discussing menopause symptoms with your healthcare provider can be tricky, so in this issue we provide advice on how to start the Weconversation.
 hopeyou find this information helpful!

Why do I have
vaginal odorand itching?

These symptoms may signal a disrupted vaginal microbiome.

We all know probiotics are great for your
gut health — but did you know they can be beneficial for your vagina, too?

disturb your vaginal micriobiome, including hormonal birth control, sex, and smoking.¹ And
during perimenopause and beyond, you’re even more susceptible to vaginal infection, thanks to diminishing estrogen production.²

That’s where vaginal probiotics come in —
they can help balance and maintain a healthy vaginal microbiome, support a healthy vaginal pH, and assist in preventing infections caused by an imbalanced microbiome.³ If you’re menopausal, suffer from yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, or have risk factos for vaginal symptoms, like smoking or stress,⁴ you might benefit from a vaginal probiotic.

Your vagina requires a different balance of bacteria than other parts of your body, and it has its own microbiome. A lot of things can

Why is menopause still so misunderstood?

There are 34 recognized menopause symptoms, but most women only seek treatment for a few.

Growing older is a fact of life. And while
age often comes with certain freedoms, it
also poses new challenges for women. Take
menopause — many of us don’t realize there
are actually 34 recognized menopause symp-
toms. We all talk about hot flashes and night sweats, but other changes, like UTIs, loss of intimacy, and more, remain under-discussed. Menopause is already a lot to manage, and not talking about it can leave us feeling even more unsure of how to seek help.

Menopause has only recently become a
bigger topic of open discussion, and many women might not feel prepared for it — which can stop them from discussing treatment.

It’s normal to feel uncomfortable discussing menopause symptoms, for plenty of reasons. But no matter what’s stopping you from initiating a conversation, you’re not alone. The more open you are about your symptoms, however, the more likely your healthcare provider can help you find the best treatment options.

Consider talking with your healthcare provider during your visit if you’re experiencing menopause symptoms.

Did you know? Women often choose to “tough out” the many symptoms of
menopause. While toughing it out may appear to be the best approach at the
time, the short and long terms of health outcomes can be long lasting and greatly
 impact your quality of life.

No one really talks about menopause.
It snuck up on me. I never experienced hot flashes and I didn’t think of vaginal dryness. Feeling less attractive, and not looking or feeling my age put my mental health in jeopardy. I’ve never been here before and I want to help others prepare to live their best life through it.

One physical change those in menopause have in common is disminished estrogen. Less estrogen means less blood flow to the vagina, which could mean less natural lubrication and weaker orgasm. Dr. Alyssa Dweck, Chief Medical Officer, Bonafide Health.
