A windsurfing legend for many years, Bjorn Dunkerbeck is the ultimate windsurfer. Half-Danish half-Dutch athlete grew up surrounded by waters in the Canary islands and embarked on a professional windsurfing path when he was just 17. Ever since then he has broken the Nautical Mile speed record four times, the 500m Open Ocean speed record twice and the 250m speed record. His enthusiasm and passion for windsurfing are the perfect ingredients to a successful windsurfing experience!

Windsurfing since he was 13, the charming Frenchman is a legend in the French and international windsurfing communities. Professional windsurfer and foiler, Philippe learnt how to windsurf in Africa, where he basically grew up on water pushed by constant strong winds. Philippe’s background is in event management which he used to inspire passion for sports for 25 years. His most notable event is Defi Wind, which has been the biggest yearly international windsurf events, occasionally called the “Woodstock of Windsurf”.

Bonaire is called the Diver’s Paradise for a reason. The diversity and the sheer size of the Marine Park is astonishing. For this reason, the strongest protection measures are taken on the island to preserve the local inhabitants. Divers, snorkelers, swimmers, but as well as windsurfers, kitesurfers and SUP’ers, must all be controlled and pay a fee to be allowed to enjoy the gorgeous Bonaire waters. The organisation taking care of the implementation of the safety regulations is called
Stinapa Bonaire. For divers the Stinapa badge costs $25, and for snorkelers, swimmers and ones wanting to do water sports (including windsurfing and SUPing), the badge is $10. The latter one you can find at the Front Office of Sorobon Beach Resort. The importance of the badge is not only to gain access to the Marine Park and its attractions, but also to support the conservation processes and express gratitude for the activities of Stinapa Bonaire.
