Use your colour to take up your space This theme allows for lots of fun with the details and accessories The dress is a statement in itself so I recommend simple but elegant accessories and the suit should be a very complementary colour to yellow. For decoration and tableware, neutral backgrounds allow you to highlight your selection of yellow elements perfectly "

They are available in both white and ivory and the embroidery can be picked to match your colour scheme They come in a standard length, however, due to their rustic nature these ribbons can be cut to suit your hairstyle on the day These are just two wonderful ideas of how embroidered ribbons can be incorporated into your wedding day We also love them for place-setting bows on your tables or tying around your cake too. "When choosing the looks for the shoot, Joanna wanted to stick to British bridal couturiers who would create romantic gowns with bold silhouettes and flower details. For the spring story, she chose a flower texture slip dress with puffed sleeves by Alyce Jayne Bridal paired with Diane Hassall Shoes and handmade porcelain flower jewellery by PS With Love A second aspring look was chosen by Felisiti Greis and included a corseted dress in feather-light tulle with dreamy sleeves. This look was completed by Diane Hassall Shoes and a W Collective ribbon tried around the neck in a bow.”

“The summer story fashion consisted of a striking pink gown and cathedral-length veil by Felisiti Greis The dramatic gown has a dropped waist corset and layers of semi-transparent tulle with hand appliqué flowers Our model had an important role. She helped create movement and a ‘sense’ of a wider story. We see a wisp of a veil and a swish of a skirt."

“Wedding cakes today are more than just royal icing and fondant. From buttercream or ganache, naked or semi-naked, tall tiers, short tiers, slender or wide tiers quite literally, the skies the limit (within the capabilities of sugar). Certain trends have stayed the test of time, hello naked cakes, whilst new techniques and ideas enter fleetingly. Just like floral arrangements or wedding stationery, modern wedding cakes are open to interpretation and should ultimately capture the essence of your wedding day. But where do you start in terms of exploring the designs and styles that work for you?”

FONDANT, BUTTERCREAM OR GANACHE?

“Fondant is still a hugely popular covering for cakes, and it’s now being pushed to new limits with colourful designs, industrial and minimalist shapes, tiers wrapped in printed edible paper or artfully decorated with beautifully ornate hand-painted details. Cake designers in the buttercream and ganache camps are also pushing boundaries, developing skyscraper tiers, interesting textures, light ruffle effects, bold colours and abstract painting – taking the capabilities of these delicious mediums to a whole new level.”

“When it comes to which covering to choose for your wedding cake it all depends on personal taste, some people love the taste of fondant, whereas others prefer a lightly whipped buttercream exterior. I use Italian meringue buttercream to cover my cakes, and this has such a wonderfully light, not overly sweet, softly whipped texture. You can flavour it to complement the fillings or colour it with fresh fruit puree like raspberries for a subtle colour. Fondant coverings work brilliantly with sugar and wafer paper flowers, whilst buttercream and ganache-covered cakes are beautiful when paired with fresh florals and foliage. With buttercream and ganache, you can also be bolder and more adventurous with your filling choices as these styles can be kept in the fridge, keeping perishable fillings such as fruit curds and cream cheese frostings safe.”

My design style comes from a mix of cultures. My British upbringing, my French heritage, and a design career based in Sweden influence me every day. Each country with its own unique design language, provides me with a wealth of inspiration to create. I'm also influenced by the vintage dress I'm transforming. Every wedding dress has a beautiful detail or fabric worth saving and this impacts the new design. It's all about showcasing the best from the past but bringing it into this decade. I love re-making a family heirloom! The more "outdated" the better - finding the beauty in extreme 70's bridal wear and tailoring it to modern-day trends is a lot of fun."
