HON. TREASURER’S REPORT

Mr. John McCormack

Members, it is my pleasure to submit, for your perusal and adoption, the Financial Statements of the Association for the year ended 30 September 2005.

Financially it has been a momentous year for the association with the extremely generous bequest from “The Grandfather”, the late Leo Randle. His donation to the association will, if managed with care, control, foresight and integrity, allow the members to receive the best opportunity to develop their refereeing proficiency with investment in training methods and communication equipment along with the enjoyment of close friendships that refereeing offers.

In this year alone we were able to offer the members things that we could not do in the past. They include: • New tracksuits for all members

• A 50% reduction in social fees.

• Subsidised “Chinese” nights each month • Increased number of coaching seminars • Heavily subsidised final meeting night

It was disappointing, after many years of a mutually rewarding sponsorship arrangement, that we lost our sleeve sponsor Rossini’s Café & Restaurant at the end of the season. Thank you for your support. To replace Rossini’s it is very encouraging to see two of our newer members and their families eager to sponsor our association for season 2006 and 2007. We welcome Ronnies Environmental Services Pty Ltd through Jeff Hassarati and As Clean As A Whistle Pty Ltd through Andrew Taylor.

Our thanks again to the NSW Rugby League Referees Association in granting us $3,500 this season. This is up $500 from $3,000 the previous year. The funds are always put to good use in training and development.

This year, I also performed the role of Director of Referees. As a result of that role’s weekly functions I needed to rely on the assistance of the Assistant Secretary, Mr Warren Gee. He controlled the input of all games refereed each

weekend into our spreadsheet to enable us to pay the members correctly and charge the Junior League accordingly. I sincerely thank him for his efforts and diligence in getting the data in and making sure it was correct.

There are also a number of other people that assist in making the role of Treasurer that much easier week in and week out. Thanks to the various Committeemen who control the money at our social meetings, our custodian of gear stocks and other funds that are under their control. A special thanks again to Glenn Jeffcoat (and Elaine) who work very hard to ensure that the members enjoy the various social events, but does so with prudent cash management.

I would also like to thank the other members of the Executive for their friendship, guidance and support throughout the season. It is a pleasure to work with these loyal members under the guidance of Paul our dedicated President.

JOHN McCORMACK HON. TREASURER
