Daily Affirmation Daily affirmations are simple, positive statements declaring specific goals in their completed states. Although they sound rather basic at that level, these empowering mantras have profound effects on the conscious and unconscious mind. ~Jack Canfield ~

Steps to creating an Affirmation 1. Use the present tense. 2. State it in the positive. Affirm what you want, not what you don’t want. 3. Keep it brief. 4. Make it specific. 5. You can include an action word ending with –ing. 6. Include at least one dynamic emotion or feeling word. 7. Make affirmations for yourself, not others.

“We all talk to ourselves. A major key to success exists in what we say to ourselves, which helps to shape our attitude and mindset.” ~ Darren Johnson ~ My mind is alert, my body is healthy and my soul is at peace. The more peaceful I am inside, the more peace I have to share with others. I am the architect of my life and business: and the interior designer of its content. I transcend stress of any kind. Life supports me in every possible way. My relationships are getting stronger and deeper every day. My business continues to grow, expand and thrive. My creative energy leads me to new and brilliant ideas. Happiness is a choice; each day I choose to find the happy within. I am fully equipped to overcome any obstacles or challenges. I am courageous! I abandon my old habits and take up new, more positive ones. I am divinely guided and protected at all times. I am worthy! Everything that I experience is happening for my ultimate good. Whatever I need to know is revealed to me at exactly the right time. Wellness is the natural state of my body. I look for the good in every situation, circumstance and in everyone. Today, I am awake, aware and focused. I am at peace with all that has happened, is happening, and will happen. I am love, therefore I love what is. I am filled with gratitude for everything I have. I function from a place of authenticity and integrity. “It’s not what you say out of your mouth that determines your life, it’s what you whisper to yourself that has the most power.” ~ Robert Kiyosaki ~

(For example, “He doesn’t care about me.”) Then question the concept in writing, using the following questions and turnarounds. (Use additional paper as needed.) Belief: _____________________________________________________________________________________

____________________________________________________________________________________________ Now investigate each of your statements, using the four questions of The Work, below. Always give yourself time to let the deeper answers meet the questions. Then turn each thought around. For the turnaround to statement 6, replace the words “I don’t ever want to...” with “I am willing to...” and “I look forward to...” Until you can look forward to all aspects of life without fear, your Work is not done. The four questions Example: Paul doesn’t listen to me. 1. Is it true? (Yes or no. If no, move to 3.) __________________________________________________ 2. Can you absolutely know that it’s true? (Yes or no.) _____________________________________ 3. How do you react, what happens, when you believe that thought?

____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ a) Does that thought bring peace or stress into your life? b) What images do you see, past and future, and what physical sensations arise as you think that thought and witness those images? c) What emotions arise when you believe that thought? d) Do any obsessions or addictions begin to appear when you believe that thought? (Do you act out on any of the following: alcohol, credit cards, food, sex, television etc.) e) How do you treat the person in this situation when you believe the thought? How do you treat other people and yourself? 4. Who would you be without the thought?

____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Turn the thought around a) To the self. (I don’t listen to myself.) b) To the other. (I don’t listen to Paul.) c) To the opposite. (Paul does listen to me.) Then find at least three specific, genuine examples of how each turnaround is true for you in this situation. © 2017 Byron Katie International, Inc. All rights reserved. thework.com - 22 May 2017
