Gravel and Grit by Al Price Gravel and Grit recounts not only a rural boyhood in a period of racial hostility and class exclusion but also of simple country pleasures and strong family ties. Other approaches to writing about the South either romanticize or demonize the people and culture in which the author was reared, but this work reveals both the gravel (the course, unflattering, and shameful side of that era) and the grit (the remarkable will to survive). Rich in literary quotations and cultural allusions, the readers witness how these common people, both black and white, endured, survived, and prevailed. About the Author Al Price is retired from serving as a professor of sociology and mental health professional. He is a graduate of Abilene Christian University and the University of Tennessee. Professional certifications were granted to him from the University of Alabama and the University of North Texas.

Black Family Reunions by Dr. Ione D. Vargus Dr. Ione Vargus has long been convinced of the value of family reunions, especially among black families. For quite a few years, she traveled around the country to visit various black family reunions to observe what families did. She interviewed various members of those families as well. The result is this book, which delves into the social and psychological benefits of having reunions, as well as some advice and guidance on the nuts and bolts of planning and holding a reunion. About the Author Dr. Ione Dugger Vargus is professor emerita of Temple University and the first African American ever to hold the title of academic dean in Temple’s history. It was a combination of her experience as a social worker in Chicago and Boston, her academic work as a professor at the University of Illinois, along with her endeavors in Philadelphia that inspired her lifelong commitment to strengthening families and promoting reunions as a way to enhance identity, self-esteem, and family values. Guided by that calling, Dr. Vargus founded the Family Reunion Institute at Temple University in 1990, which continues to advise and guide readers today. The New Man by Martin Muller In three periods, Martin Muller taught the spiritual way, the advanced psychological and the practical experience of recognizing, developing and expressing the universal dimension in Man. This book offers a progression of teachings. First, fifteen lectures in the Christian spirituality. Second, a practical psychological treaty. Third, about forty sessions of practice. Martin’s works will introduce and open ways for readers to activate the spiritual or divine dimension of the Being.
About the Author Martin Muller (1912-1990) considered himself more as an awakener of souls or, expressed differently, an awakener of the Christ in all of us, different than a trainer who follows step-by-step the development of his students. He went to the University of Geneva to study psychology and specialized in professional career adviser. This is when he discovered that by using more esoteric means, like direct perception, astrology, etc., he was far more effective than by using his regular academic formation. With the help of his wife, he began to teach groups, inspired by Steiner and Theosophy.

The theme of this book is real estate investment analysis of direct and indirect real, which in turn can be appropriately managed under economic theory and the theoretical conceptions of real estate finance, provided the uncertainty is quantifiable. The book deploys case studies involving Singapore and Asia. This framework enables real estate market analysis to attempt what defines the Asian direct and indirect real estate sectors; what is being measured; how it behaves (in terms of price and non-price factors); how it is structured and how it effectively achieves the objectives of sustainable total returns and manageable real estate market uncertainty.

ARGENTINA: THE BEAUTIFUL LAND
by Donald L. Lawrence
This is a fictional story of family, love, conflicts, and challenges beginning in the early 1980s. It follows the story of the DeCavalieres’, a cattle-ranching family, including those who marry into it, as it builds its businesses and reputation. As the various challenges to the family endanger the lives of some of them, the additional portrayal of the family’s seventh padron and his unshakeable love for and commitment to a young woman of similar age, in turn committed to him but forced to give him up, adds a compelling tale of faith and renewal.

An era that brought about the Synapsids (Reptiles with waterproof skin) hybrids, and many more unique colonized creatures. You had the clan of unique and powerful cats, and disastrous clan of hyenas, monkey’s tribes, etc. These creatures were humanlike in every way, from compassionate to conning, brilliant to dimwitted, many very conniving and treacherous. HARD LUCK by Frank Xeno
The victim was a Native American girl, seventeen to nineteen years of age with a new heart-shaped tattoo. The ink was household enamel. The killer thinned it down with turpentine. The killer used bleach to destroy any DNA evidence and killed her by pouring bleach down her throat. An incision to the wrist drained her blood. No sign of a struggle due to morphine. I’d say you have a serial killer. A new murder mystery awaits readers in this new novel!

LOVE IN DESPAIR by Shughla Karzai This book is divided into two major parts, each with a number of shorter chapters. Part I tells the story of Shughla Karzai’s journey and how Sana Orphanage came into existence, in chronological order. Part II tells the stories of some of the individual children at Sana. MANHANDLED by Noah Justice
How many times have we seen or heard, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD.” Proverbs 18:22. But is it written anywhere that a wife can “Manhandle” her husband? In so many instances, we hear or read about domestic violence or spousal abuse — our thought processes instantly think of a man abusing a woman. In very few situations do we ever observe or notice the exact opposite or “role reversal.” However, Manhandled reads and captures this role reversal at its best with high intensity. It makes one wonder how and why this could happen? MANHANDLED Noah J us tice E-B oo k | I SB N: 97 8 1 6 6 4 1 6 7 7 6 6 | $ 3 .9 9 Al s o a v a ila b le in Pa pe r ba c k a n d Ha r dbac k

NATURE GIFTS OF THE SOURSOP LEAVES by David Soh Poh Huat This book is based on past months’ experience in promoting the soursop leaves benefits. I have discovered that many are unaware and confused whether to consume it or not. Last year, a relative of mine had a relapse of her Cancer and a friend recommended us the soursop leaves. We did an internet search and was doubtful, until we met a patient who was doing chemotherapy. He said that it does reduced his tumour and subsequently we met an Indonesian family who also confirmed it. My relative started drinking it while doing chemotherapy concurrently and her Cancer marker went down. This testimony prompted me to source for a supplier to reach out to more people.

It’s told against the backdrop of the story of the Jacksons and their descendants, an immensely wealthy family who settled in America well before the Revolutionary War. RED FLAGS by Wise Su
Red Flags presents Chinese postmodern artist, Wise Su’s 168 pieces of impressive surrealist artworks. Each painting has an artist’s explanation. The political oppression that the artist once experienced and his cross-cultural worldview prompted him to combine abstraction and absurdity in his works. The wonderful settings in his paintings reflect a dark utopia of boundless good and evil. He uses contemporary art to reexamine the beauty from the symbolism of Chinese culture.

SOLOMON’S WISDOM FOR WOMEN
by Grady M Sanders Jr
If Solomon had a daughter, would he advise her on the diversity of life and its many nuances that are so interchangeable and at times hard to distinguish a good and peaceable way of life, which can be both moral and just, as he did in instructing his son. And if he had a daughter, would he advise her to also be a success with and in her life and her family. Solomon’s Wisdom for Women is meant to be an unchanging guide in a similar manner as Solomon’s proverbs. It is intended to provide a self-help version to women.

WHILE THE U.S. SLEEPS
by Winston Langley
The United States is facing inadequately addressed problems that have progressively festered and have now become threats to the very life of societies, national and global. Efforts to deal with some of them have erringly focused on personalities; particular political parties; or identified events or movements rather than on rooted patterns that have shaped and reinforced institutions. This book looks at some of those patterns, in the areas of disarmament, economic development, race and class formations, popular culture, the environment, and the will to power. It then proposes some steps toward a possible course correction.

As she describes her progression through life as a young child, teenager, first time mother, and then finally a saved and repentant Christian – I found I was able to relate to her on many levels. Though she went through serious trials in her life, Angela’s book read like a conversation with a new friend. You can hear her laughing as she tells her story. She has fond memories from her whole life – even thought it was not the easiest. Drayton’s love for … ~Pacific Book Review

Author / poet Bahador Ghahramani has achieved the conveyance of his thoughts in a highly skilled way within his collection of his realizations, titled My Epiphany. All of his work consists of 4 lines of prose, set to an iambic foot without rhyme. Each poem, or epiphany as he calls them, brings to the minds of the readers a new … ~Pacific Book Review

In a heartfelt and insightful blend of history, memoir, and travel guide, Dr. Victor Zaki chronicles his life’s journey from the small villages of Sudan, to the hustle and bustle of Cairo, advanced studies in the UK, and his ultimate relocation to the USA. While much of My Life Journey from Darfur, Sudan to Boston, USA revolves around Zaki’s medical interests and his pursuit of a career in ophthalmology to include memories of his internships and residencies in his homeland, establishing his own home clinics, working in London hospitals, and advancing surgical treatments for glaucoma patients, in a broader … ~Pacific Book Review

What is that? Come to find out it’s slang for someone from Liverpool, England who speaks with a distinctive dialect. Although this isn’t a story about Liverpool, it is a chronicle by the author of his life which began in that city. Born on the eve of World War II, Mr. Pickard, as a young child, lived through German bombings and air raids. Many nights he mustered with family and friends in bomb shelters, but daytime was all about … ~Pacific Book Review

Some people can find the love of their life when they least expect it, while others will spend their whole life searching for someone who doesn’t exist. Everyone has their own definition of love, but far too often our love for someone can be unrequited because we put unrealistic expectations on a person. As Tony Robbins once said, “We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love.” In author Robert Beatty’s novel No … ~Pacific Book Review

A BROKEN MAN’S GUIDE TO INTIMACY Ja m e s Ho l l e y Ebook | IS BN : 9 7 8 1 6 6 4 1 3 5 1 7 8 | $ 3 . 9 9 James Holley’s book begins as a sort of sexual autobiography, if you will, with the writer describing some of his early sexual experiences. He was sexually active at an incredibly young age, as a pre-teen, and the reader is saddened by the impact these experiences must have had upon the young man. Well, he wasn’t really a young man; in all actuality, he was a child, and this makes his memories all the sadder. What follows, however, is less autobiography, and more about the giving of advice. While he focuses on himself at the book’s beginning, he transitions into … ~Pacific Book Review

Whether you are a historian studying ancient cultures, a philosopher studying the mysteries of life, or a religious scholar studying the path towards understanding the divine, people around the world have seen how much a concept such as prophecy plays into the way our society works. As acclaimed self-help author James Allen once said, “Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so you shall become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil.” In author Pedro C. This covers many different subgenres in the horror realm, of course, but one of my all-time favorite things to read about is the paranormal. While everyone may not believe or at least be sure there is something more out there when we die, or some of us may not “move on” from the land of the living right away, I’ve always been one to be more open to that idea. I’ve seen and read enough to at least not count it out and to be even curious … ~Pacific Book Review

As Henry David Thoreau once said, “It is not part of a true culture to tame tigers, any more than it is to make sheep ferocious.” In J.H.E. Lim’s The Land Beyond, the author takes readers back into a modern-day fantasy world, where our world blends with another just adjacent to our own. What follows is a totally engrossing, epic story of a refugee fleeing his war-torn country, fighting for survival, and searching for purpose in life. This book is compelling (a definite page-turner) and beautifully written. Readers will find themselves eagerly anticipating intense and emotional plot developments and genuinely rooting for the main character. As John Irving described memories, “Your memory is a monster; you forget – it doesn’t. It simply files things away. It keeps things for you, or hides things from you – and summons them to your recall with a will of its own. You think you have a memory; but it has you!” … ~Pacific Book Review
