values: label does not ruthlessly promote their artists in order to make money from their identity (exploitation) label houses a large amount of sample based music, seen as musical resampling and recycling Music is generally bass heavy, hybridisations of genres of music - e.g. Dub and garage.

Initial design ideas for logo name: Subcycle
Subcycle logo, not working. Don’t want to take this logo name any further because it seems to have a set image which I’m not enjoying experimenting with. visuals exhausted. Time to move on.

RECORDS Facet std. This typeface works. Cleancut and chunky. has an urban feel suited to the label Alius logo type treatments
developmental sketches based on Facet typeface beginning to pick apart type legibility, in order to make the logo more recognisable.
Beginning to define a clear problem with the letter forms and letter spacing.

Typeface: Facet std. the typeface is not legible enough in its original format.
Counter, unneccessary contributes to overall legibilty.

Flattened off diagonal cut - less space between letters and giving a uniformity to the overall form weight.
Alius logo amendments
Further amendments were made to the form of the letter S and L in regards to line weight and symettry but produced no better result.
Scale
A good logo needs to work at various scales, large and very small.

Simple shapes: Circle/Triangle/square. 1 colour, various shades.

03.This is working. The shape compliments the logo & Letterforms. 04.The lightest triangle is appealing, the darker shades interfere with how the logo is read.
