BRIEF Encourage Kids to not just passively but actively be creative and use their imaginations. This creativity and imagination is inspired by their experiences during and after watching CN programmes. Create an on air campaign that would not look out of place on Cartoon Network. [ Not restricted to pure animation. ]
Concept We aimed to produce a stop frame animated sequence made from paper crafted characters. This approach aimed to promote imaginative use of available materials as well as show kids an achievable outcome for them to repplicate at home.
Audience CN audience: Broad - All kids aged 6 - 11 years. Core - Boys aged 4 - 9 years.
At the start of the YCN collaborative project, me and Ollie spent the first few days looking through the choice of briefs, after some discussion we both decided we wanted to have fun during the collaborative process, so chose Cartoon Network.

IDEA GENERATION
In the early stages of the project, Me and olly sat down and discussed ideas together, it was my job to story board any ideas which could develop as a design direction.
Story boarding / Research.
03.
For the most part of the project, research was done together to inform our practise consistantly as a team. Because our working relationship was close, it was necessary to do so. My responsability with story boaring was to illustrate the ideas we had as clearly as possible to then be handed to Ollie for colouring.

Pre - Production During the final stages of the project, pre production became a very important part of the collaborative process. There had to be a diologue between us that was clear and effective. Luckily, throughout the project we had a good line of communication between us which made understanding what needed to be done and who needs to do what very easy, and also enjoyable.
At this point in the process, out roles merged and we were working together for about 80% of the time. This had to be done to meet our personal deadlines, My obligation to work at weekends luckily didnt detriment this process too much.
Pre - Production

My main responsability throughout the production stages of the process were taking pictures and making sure the compositions were correct on the camera screen, ready for ollie to sequence on After Effects with relative ease.
