All power and authority has been given unto ‘’me’’ and ‘’I give it to you’’
‘’All power and authority’’ has been given unto ‘’me’’ and ‘’I now give it to you’’ JESUS DISPENSING HIS AUTHORITY TO HIS DISCIPLES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, AND THEN TO US
Brendan Mc Crossan Copyright@17 05 2017
One All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Matthew 28:18New International Version Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority’’ in heaven and on earth’’ has been given to me.’’ Jesus made this statement, when he said ‘’all authority’’ in heaven and on earth has been given to me When he said ‘’all authority’’ he meant ‘’all’’ ‘’authority over ‘’all’’ life on earth,’’ over every man and woman and child, demons and spirits and Satan himself, ‘’all authority’’ is his, and in love for us turned around and gave it first to his disciples, [the men and women that travelled around with him] ‘’power and authority’’ to act on his behalf. We Christians do not know the authority that Jesus gave us, for most of our churches are dead, and are a sign of their infidelity, not the signs and wonders that they are supposed to display.
What does authority actually mean, authority means, ‘’power,’’ ‘’right,’’ ‘’ability,’’ ‘’influence,’’ ‘’weight,’’ ‘’clout,’’ ‘’say so,’’ and the ‘’last word.’’ I love the ‘last words’ in the understanding of what authority means, and that is ‘’the last word;’’ that settles it; there’s nothing more to be said. If you are placed in a position of authority, then you have the last word no matter what is going on, and we Christians have the last word when it comes to facing the demons or evil spirits that are oppressing God’s people; we have that authority to command them to get out in Jesus name; for it is his name that is stamped on your authority, the Lords signed seal, and no one can dispute the Lords signature, in this next scripture you can see that Jesus tells us ‘’there’s no need to ask him for anything, because you use my name -26- says 26 Then you will present your petitions over my signature! That’s the Lords signature, that’s ‘’his authority,’’ that’s his seal that you place your request over and God the father has to honour ‘his seal and name on it.’
See, here in this scripture there is a promise backed up by the ‘signature of Jesus name’ and that is where we Christians need to put our requests to God for whatever need you have, there is another scripture that seems to say the same but it is actually talking about something else!
John 16Living Bible (TLB) 23 at ‘that time’ you won’t need to ask ‘me’ for anything, for you can go directly to the Father and ask ‘him,’ and ‘’he’’ ‘’will give you what you ask for’’ because ‘’you use ‘’my name.’’ 24 You haven’t tried this before, but begin now. Ask, using ‘’my name,’’ and ‘’you ‘’will’’ receive,’’ and your cup of joy will overflow. 25 “I have spoken of these matters very guardedly, but the time will come when this will not be necessary and I will tell you plainly all about the Father.26 Then you will present your petitions ‘’over my signature!’’ And I won’t need to ask the Father to grant you these requests, 27 for the Father himself loves you dearly because you love me and believe that I came from the Father. 28 Yes, I came from the Father into the world and will leave the world and return to the Father.”
John 14Living Bible (TLB)
12 13 “In solemn truth I tell you, ‘’anyone’’ ‘believing in me’ shall do the ‘’same miracles’’ I have done, and ‘’even greater ones,’’ because I am going to be with the Father. You can ‘’ask him’’ for anything, using my name, and ‘’I’’ will do it, for this will bring praise to the Father because of what ‘’I,’’ the Son, will do for you.14 Yes, ask anything, using my name, and ‘’I’’ will do it! When you read this scripture and the first one, they seem to be the same, but they are far from it, in the first one Jesus says to ‘ask the father’ and ‘’he’’ {the father} will do it‘’ask him,’’ and ‘’he’’ ‘’will give you what you ask for’’ In the second scripture it says anyone believing in me shall do the same miracles I have done and even greater ones. He says you can ask the Father using ‘’his name Jesus,’’ and then he says ‘’I’’ {Jesus} will do it, in this scripture Jesus is saying ‘’he’’ will do the same miracles he did whilst here on earth through you This scripture is talking about miracles and not about anything else, it is just miracles that Jesus mentioned and he gave you the authority to do the same miracles for he will do them through you as Mark 16 says. Matthew 28:18New International Version
The first thing that Jesus did was to ‘’rebuke’ them for their unbelief;’’ their food must have stuck in their throats when they heard him speak and rebuke them; will he also rebuke you or me? I never noticed that verse before until a few months ago and it shocked me to read it, I thought that he would have said, ‘’hay brothers what’s happening?’’ Or something to that effect, but no, ‘he rebuked them.’ Imagine that was you sitting there and Jesus appeared from the dead to you and the group gathered there, you would have loved to hear ‘’well done everyone’’ and you probably would have been as shocked as I am sure the disciples were, feeling both embarrassed and ashamed, and hung your head as they probably done when he rebuked them for their ‘stubborn unbelief,’ the word stubborn means ‘obstinate,’ that they just ‘refused’ to believe’ no matter what they heard from Mary Magdalene or the others who told them Jesus had arisen, and from those two men on the road to Emmaus I had a word of similar standing from the lord one time when some friends and I were gathered to worship the lord with our music, [three of us played the guitar,] and we were just new to renewal, and so we were singing, ‘’nearer my
14 Still later he appeared to the eleven disciples as they were eating together. He rebuked them for their unbelief—their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him alive from the dead.
15
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority’’ in heaven and on earth’’has been given to me.’’ Jesus gave us his own authority. That’s the same as him doing it through us. Mark 16Living Bible (TLB)
And the disciples went everywhere preaching, and the Lord was with them and confirmed what they said by the miracles that followed their messages.
17 “And those who believe shall use ‘’my’ ‘authority’’ to cast out demons, and they shall speak new languages.18 They will be able even to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them; and they will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them.”
And then he told them, “You are to go into the entire world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.16 Those who believe and are baptized will be saved. But those who refuse to believe will be condemned.
20
Is the words Jesus is saying to his church today words of ‘rebuke;’ or ‘well done my good and faithful friends.’ In these scriptures in this book that I am sharing, they are words of ‘authority’ and not words of failure to operate in his living word. Our stubborn refusal to believe what he is saying in these scriptures and the other scriptures that I have added to enforce the word for you, will bring his rebuke, but our action, acting on his word of authority will bring with it ‘’signs and wonders’’ as Jesus travels with us, in us, and through us, joined together with him as ‘one spirit.’ And as we lay hands on the sick ‘he’ through us, ‘’will heal them;’’ for it is not us who heals anyway it is his name and he himself in us.
God to thee,’’ thinking this is the kind of music that God wants to hear; when God spoke to me and said, ’’you bore me with your music,’’ and I was as shocked as I’m sure the apostles were by his comment; keeping this story short, the lord showed us that the music he wants needs to come from our hearts, not from a religious standpoint, and so I began to quietly play a little rock and roll song that just came into my mind, ‘’Rock on Jesus rock in to my heart,’’ etc, and suddenly I understood that God wants us enjoying the music we sing to him and it doesn’t matter what kind of song it is as long as it is clean, not like today’s music. That had nothing to do with authority but just having empathy with the apostles who must have felt awful to be told off.
Union means ‘’joined together as one person in spirit;’’ in amalgamation, combination, blending, coming together, joining together, unification, and merger.
I assure you, believers, by the pride which I have in you in [your ‘’union’’ ‘’with] ‘Christ Jesus our Lord,’’ I die daily [I face death and die to self].
1-Corinthians 15:31-Amplified Bible
1-Corinthians 1:30-Easy-to-Read Version it is God who has made you ‘’part of Christ Jesus.’’ And Christ has become for us wisdom from God. He is the reason we are right with God and pure enough to be in his presence.
Christ is the one who set us free from sin. {Part means an element, ingredient, component, branch,} {Jesus says he is the vine and we are the branches. And part means branch.}
Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive ‘’together’’ in fellowship and ‘’in’’ ‘’union’’ with Christ; [He gave us the ‘’very life of Christ Himself,’’~ the ‘’same’’ ‘new life’ with which He quickened Him,~ for] it is by grace (His favour and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made ‘’partakers’’ of ‘’Christ’s salvation).’’
Ephesians-2:5-Amplified-Bible
{The word ‘’same’’ means, similar, identical, equal, equivalent, matching, alike, unchanged; Identical, means ~ the same, equal, matching, alike, impossible to tell apart, one and the same} {The word partake means to participate, to share, involve yourself in, play a part, join, contribute,} I could spend days just praying over this scripture for it gives us everything we would ever need to do the will of God. Knowing the meaning of words will bring with it enlightenment, especially for us the children of God who are made the same as, and ‘’in union,’’ with and in him sharing and partaking in his divine word, as he reaches this lost world, with us acting on his behalf and of course with ‘’him inside us as joined together as one spirit,’’ it is no wonder that I can use his authority, it is himself in us that is using it through us as partakers of his salvation. These are the reasons that we can wield the authority of Jesus; he is ‘’joined ‘together with us’ ‘’in union’ joined together as one spirit’’ and we are made partakers sharing in the things of Jesus; God has actually chosen us to share, to play a part in the same new life, did you notice those words? The same new life, this is incredible to know, that he made us, that’s you and me the born again children of God, alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; one with him and God the father. You are not supposed to be living your life; he is supposed to live his new life in us, we are supposed to surrender our very lives to him, to let him live in us to the full. In other words in everyday life it has to be less of us and more of him.
1 John 5:20=Easy to Read Version and we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding. So now we can know the one who is true, and we live in that true God. ‘’We are’’~ ‘’in’’~ his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God, and he is eternal life. ‘’In’’ means to be inside, within, into, at home here; a state of being, place and condition
God wanted us to understand that everything Jesus received we also can receive in the same way. Jesus had no power or authority when he walked around as a man for thirty three years; for he didn’t raise his earthly father Joseph when he died. If I had the power to raise the dead years ago I would have raised my mother, for I loved her, just as Jesus loved Joseph; but he like me was just a normal human being, he did not have super powers, and it was not until he received the baptism in the Holy Spirit just like us, that he could do supernatural acts, because the power of the Holy Spirit was available to him
Two The power to rule with authority 1 Corinthians 15:27 Living Bible
When did Jesus get this authority? When he was born? No, then when? He got this authority when he was baptised in the spirit when John baptised him in the Jordan. Before Jesus was baptised in the Jordan and in the Holy Spirit, he could do nothing for thirty three years, except help his parent, by working for his earthly father. So in contrast to many others belief who thought Jesus was born with authority, he wasn’t he was just a normal baby with normal needs and wants.
For the ‘’rule and authority’’ ‘’over all things’’ has been given to Christ by his Father; except, of course, Christ does not rule over the Father himself, who gave him this power to rule.
Jesus was able to say this because the rule and authority was given to Jesus Christ by his father, and Christ exercised this power and authority when he walked this earth preaching the good news and healing the sick and casting out demons. Jesus had power and authority over all things be they sickness, diseases, demons and even Satan himself, and he displayed this power when he defeated Satan, the devil in hell after he died on the cross on Calvary.
How Jesus got his power and why?
It was not until he went to the Jordan river to be baptised by John, when he came back up out of the water he then received the Holy Spirit and his power and authority; for Jesus lived every day as a man before this, and he done everything as a man to show us how to receive the same things as he did.
just as it is available to you and me, and praise the lord I have received that same Holy Spirits power and authority; because ‘’it is not I who live but Christ Jesus who lives in me,’’ and now ‘I have been given ‘’his’’ wonderful ‘’new life’’ to ‘’enjoy.’’ Galatians 2:20 19 the Way Bible
Jesus new life is to live in us, and we live in him as one person in this day and age, as he uses us to bring his children into his kingdom giving us his own power and authority, that is why he said in Mark 16 ‘’those who believe shall use ‘’my’’ authority,’’ and that is because he is within us, wielding his authority as
King James Version (KJV) Romans 6:4 living bible you were given ‘’his wonderful new life to enjoy.’’ Few Christians seem to believe this for they live their lives far from the scriptural truth of the living word of God, and exercise no power or authority on this earth, sadly the church of God in today’s world knows little of who or what they are in Christ Jesus.
For through the Law I died to the Law so that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ, and ‘’I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.’’ The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
God gave Jesus power and authority over every man and woman on earth, and the strangest thing is Jesus gave away that power and authority to us mere human beings. This is the most awesome thing a Christian could be given and it’s for free and from a father God who loves and shows us this love in action by giving us his son’s {Jesus} new life to live and to enjoy. Do you see that, to enjoy, not living with heaviness but with a joy {Enjoy, take pleasure in, and to get pleasure from, benefit from.} Do you even grasp what God has done for you and me, I know I find it hard to understand and grasp the enormity of it. I have been given ‘’his; yes his,’ ‘’Jesus Christ’s new life to live.’’’
The first thing that you have in living this new life of Jesus is ‘’love’’ for God is love; and you have been given authority from him over every man and woman on this earth, just as Jesus had. Having authority over every man and woman does not give you the right to abuse people but to love them into the kingdom. Love is what allows Jesus to live his new life in us for as I said God is love and as scripture says anyone living in love is living in God 1-John4-12 When we love each other God lives in us and his love within us grows ever stronger. Do you realise that when we do our best to love people, Gods love grows ever stronger; so we should try our best not to criticise or talk about others John 17:2-Living Bible
we allow him through faith in his divine word, that living word of Almighty God a fearful thing indeed! What an honour to be given, and what trust God the father entrusted us, with the life of his son Jesus. Such love the Father God has for us that he entrusted us to take pleasure in, and to get pleasure from our new life in Jesus and to benefit from our new life, then how do we start living this new life.
For you have given him authority ‘’over every ‘man’ and ‘woman’ in all the earth; He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. The reason you have authority over humanity is so that you can bring them to eternal life, can you grasp the fullness of what God is doing; he loves the world so much that he wasn’t just finished when Jesus said, ‘it is finished’ on the cross, No! It is finished when you act out your role in fulfilling the work God gave you at the moment of salvation; when Jesus said ‘it is finished’ your part in that finished work on the cross is to bring souls that Jesus paid for into the kingdom of heaven. ‘’It is finished,’’ that included your part in soul winning and healing the sick, that’s why Jesus said, ‘’to go out into the entire world and preach the gospel,’’ ‘’those healings and salvations were all included in the finished work of Jesus,’’ you cannot ‘work’ for things hoping to do something for God, for it is finished. I laid hands on a woman and she was healed that was
4
Jesus took our sickness and diseases as well as our sins on that cross and killed their effect so when we go out to lay hands on the sick they have already been healed by Jesus and all we do is bring it into reality.
God sees the full picture of life; we see a limited version; God sees everything that concerns you, for he said, ‘’I know the plans I have for you,’’ etc Jeremiah, he knows everything you will ever do and say for he says also in Ephesians 1 4 before I made the world I chose you! Ephesians 1-3-Living Bible (TLB)
a work finished by Jesus for sickness and disease and sins were all accounted for by Jesus.
Jesus finished his part of God’s plans knowing that he would continue to live on in you and in me fulfilling his divine words. When Jesus said ‘it is finished’ that included our part thousands of years later; for you have to understand that Jesus broke open the doors of the kingdom of heaven for you and for me, and for the world until the end of time.
I paid for the Bogside Inn a few weeks ago, and I am having a healing service there on the fifth of June 2017, now I paid for the room, but that doesn’t come into effect until the fifth of June, its already been paid for just as Jesus already paid for both sin and sickness, and it’s when the time arrives that everything comes into being and the service will begin.
Long ago, even before he made the world, God chose us to be his very own through what Christ would do for us; he decided then to make us ‘’holy in his eyes,’’ ‘’without a single fault’’ we who stand before him covered with his love. 5 His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us. And he did this because he wanted to!
To give you an example; Jesus paid for the sins of the world two thousand and seventeen years ago; he paid the price then, and now today you accept that price was paid for you, and so receive eternal life from him. But it was finished on the cross wasn’t it? In the same way Jesus paid for healing at the same time on the cross. Now sin is still in this world but it has been paid for, sickness and disease is still in this world but it has been paid for, and the only way to receive both is to ‘’believe and to accept.’’
3 How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every blessing in heaven because we belong to Christ.
Jesus went to the cross on Calvary to fulfil this work of God for he seen the beginning and the end of everything, and before you ask if he knew all things, why do bad thing happen; God gave mankind and even the angels in heaven free will to do good, or to chose to do bad; to either accept or reject his perfect will; for the lord God has two wills, his perfect will, and his permissive will. God does not want you to sin but you have the free will to do so; he doesn’t want you to sin, but he allows you to go ahead and do so if you want to; that is called love, for you cannot make someone love you, but a funny thing is that you can make someone hate you Three
God done this before we could ever make a mistake or sin or do anything good or bad, he decided to make us holy in his sight without a single fault; the thing that stops most Christians from doing something for God is guilt, because they don’t really believe that they are righteous before God, they don’t feel like they can do anything against the enemy.
Then Jesus says to us in this next scripture, Luke 9:1Amplified Bible [Ministry of the Twelve] Now Jesus called together the twelve [disciples] and gave them [the right to exercise] power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. The first people he gave this authority to were to his disciples, and after them he gave it to us. Thank God ‘Jesus gave us his own authority,’ if Jesus acknowledges God his father giving him something, shouldn’t we also give thanks and praise to him for giving us his own divine son first who gives us gifts and powers. Gifts too much for the human mind to comprehend, it must be sought after with the spirit man. I know most born again churches do not operate in the power or authority of Jesus and God and that causes me great distress and sadness. Read this scripture again; Luke 9:1Amplified Bible [Ministry of the Twelve] Now Jesus called together the twelve [disciples] and gave them [the right to exercise] power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases.
Jesus gave his disciples power and authority, and if you read the ‘’Book of acts’’ you will see them in operation, and this is the way that God wants for he didn’t give us his authority to sit in church and do nothing. Church come alive before God cuts you off; you need to do what Jesus said in the scriptures in this book; you need to demonstrate Satan the devil’s defeat. I find it unbelievable to see only a few born again believers operating in the power of Jesus through his Holy Spirit in the churches I have been involved in and I can understand why, it is because they are not encouraged to step out and begin to operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I am not speaking ill of any church, but in the churches I have been in there is no teaching on the baptism in the Holy Spirit or why we need it, some people come already baptised somewhere else; and there is no teaching on how to operate in the gifts. They do not baptise their flock in the Holy Spirit, and this is what I see taking place, they may have great teachings on other things but nothing on the power of the Holy Spirit and this grieves me so much for I know that souls are being lost because of this and I know other great teachings have no real spiritual effect on most of the church goers for without the Holy Spirit these great teachings fall by the wayside. He gave this authority to you and me! Wow, ‘’praise the lord,’’ do we even realise that Almighty God gave us authority on this earth; Almighty God himself gave us the rights to his son Jesus heritage.
And ‘’I’’ have given ‘’you’’ authority over all the power of the Enemy, and to walk among serpents and scorpions and to crush them. Nothing shall injure you!
Luke 10:19 Living Bible
And in Him you have been made complete [achieving spiritual stature through Christ], and He is the head over ‘’all rule and authority’’ [of every angelic and earthly power].
Christians have failed to use the authority over the enemy and have lain down before them to be walked over by demonic power who dance and leap with glee to this astonishing failure to beat the crap out of them. They fail to realise that God said they will walk among serpents and scorpions and crush them yes, this said ‘’crush them,’’ and nothing shall injure them, ‘’nothing!’’ but sadly they don’t seem to realise this.
Colossians 2:10-Amplified Bible
Still later he appeared to the eleven disciples as they were eating together. He rebuked them for their unbelief—their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him alive from the dead.

Hebrews 12:2 Amplified Bible

And the disciples went everywhere preaching, and the Lord was with them and confirmed what they said by the miracles that followed their messages.

And now all glory to him who alone is God, who saves us through Jesus Christ our Lord; yes, splendour and majesty, ‘’all power and authority’’ are his from the beginning; his they are and his they evermore shall be. And he is able to keep you from slipping and falling away, and to bring you, sinless and perfect, into his glorious presence with mighty shouts of everlasting joy. Amen. The most amazing thing is he turned around and gave that power and authority over to us his beloved children.
And then he told them, “You are to go into the entire world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.16 Those who believe and are baptized will be saved. But those who refuse to believe will be condemned.

Jude 1:24 25 Living Bible

Mark 16Living Bible (TLB)
When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down at God’s right hand.
“And those who believe shall use ‘’my authority’’ to cast out demons, and they shall speak new languages.18 They will be able even to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them; and they will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them.”
Do you use that power and authority that Jesus gave over to you? This is a question we need to answer for ourselves, are we exhibiting the power and authority that is ours now by right? Are we reaching out to others offering them salvation, baptism in the Holy Spirit and healing them? If not what are you doing for Jesus? That scripture said ‘’all power and authority,’’ not some power or authority has been given to Jesus and he in Mark 16 15 gave over that authority to us his born again children.
Amen
[looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, ‘’His authority,’’ and the completion of His work].
This is what the believer is called to do, nothing else; the majority are not called to start some project; some are called to do some things like that, but not the 90% of the church goers. In the mean time what are you personally doing with the authority and power that you have?
