Can we believe the word of God no matter what version we use to study

Can we believe the word of God no matter which version we use to study? Can we believe the word of God no matter which version we use to study?

Psalm 12:6 (AMP) 6 The words and promises of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times over.

Look at how many different versions there is, each with a different translation. I listened to a theologian today stating that the word does not mean exactly what it is saying. In the Greek or Hebrew he gave different meanings; and the word that I was talking about was that the work of salvation was ‘’already finished’’ it was done for us by Jesus.

Sickness and disease and salvation have already been accomplished for us by Jesus; and because he has a disability he couldn’t agree with what the word of God says. He made the statement that Paul was sick and God didn’t heal him, God said to Paul, ‘’my grace is sufficient.’’ So this justified his version of the word; he quoted great men of God who were sick or had a bad thing happen to them, as justifying his belief. He also stated that ‘’God gave the back to carry the burden’’ but the only back that God gave to carry the burden, was the back of Christ Jesus our lord, when he was lashed and we were healed and carrying his cross where on that cross he took the punishment for our sins. God turns evil things to good for us but they don’t come from him or he gives permission for the devil to do these things on us. God gave the devil the right to attack Job but that was before Jesus came along and destroyed all his power by defeating him in his own house he then led him in a victory parade with him stripped naked before all of heaven, defeated and demoralised. Scripture prophesized what Jesus was going to do and if he let people be sick then he didn’t accomplish all he set out to do. The word of God is true.

Can we believe whichever translation we use if that is what we have or got when we first met the lord? Yes we can, for God speaks to us through his word, and no matter which version we use they all have the same base for truth.

Some bible have an amplified version giving a fuller expression of the words used, others have a more literal meaning giving expression in a modern way of speaking, unlike the King James version, which uses the old thee and thou language of old England speech. But the word of God remains the same no matter which version you are used to. If the version you grew up with does not suffice any longer, then God will lead you to one with a greater meaning for you. He uses his word most times to speak to us through it, giving us revelation and greater understanding of what he is saying.

Isaiah 53 4 Yet it was our grief he bore, our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, for his own sins! 5 But he was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace; he was lashed—and we were healed! The only back the lord gave to carry our burdens was the back of his divine son Jesus, no other back, or they could boast that it is they themselves that can do these things, and God’s word says let no man boast.

1 Corinthians 3

Amplified Bible (AMP) 21 So let no one exult proudly concerning men [boasting of having this or that man as a leader], for ‘’all things are yours,’’ 22 Whether Paul or Apollo’s or Cephas (Peter), or the universe or ‘’life or death,’’ or the immediate and threatening present or the [subsequent and uncertain] future—‘’all are yours,’’ 23 And you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.

God’s words are true, they do not hold different agendas to hold a different meaning if one part fails.

I first had a Jerusalem Bible the Catholic bible and it did for a little while because I just read it without understanding then when God baptised me in his Holy Spirit he wrote supernaturally in his word the words, ‘’you have crucified me with your sins,’’ this is not in my bible they were meant to lead me into repentance which they did, and later on I was given the bible I use till this day. Can we believe what God is saying in this next scripture? Yes for all bibles have the same expression of words in them.

2 Corinthians 12:1-King James Version

7 And to keep me from being puffed up and too much elated by the exceeding greatness (pre eminence) of these revelations, there was given me a thorn (a splinter) in the flesh, a ‘’messenger of Satan,’’ to rack and buffet and harass me, to keep me from being excessively exalted.

8 Three times I called upon the Lord and besought [Him] about this and begged that it might depart from me; 9 But He said to me, My grace (My favour and loving kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully];

True, there is nothing to be gained by it, but [as I am obliged] to boast, I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows—was caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I know that this man whether in the body or away from the body I do not know, God knows 4 Was caught up into paradise, and he heard utterances beyond the power of man to put into words, which man is not permitted to utter. 5 Of this same [man’s experiences] I will boast, but of myself (personally) I will not boast, except as regards my infirmities (my weaknesses). 6 Should I desire to boast, I shall not be a witless braggart, for I shall be speaking the truth. But I abstain [from it] so that no one may form a higher estimate of me than [is justified by] what he sees in me or hears from me.

Yes God does help people with whatever problems they face, but he does not give it, for if you think that God gives us the back to carry some disease or a child with some disease then in effect you are saying, ‘God gave that disease and the mother or father the back to carry that burden,’ that is deception; there is no doubt that it is a lie of the devil, so that someone who cannot receive healing use to explain why they still are sick. And this person even said St Paul was sick with a disease of the eyes and God said, ‘’my grace is sufficient for you,’’ and didn’t heal his eyes. Most theologians believe that Paul had a disease of the eyes, but all versions say Paul had a ‘’spirit tormenting him in his eyes,’’ it does not say he had eye problems or disease, though he said later in another scripture, ‘’my eyes looked disgusting to you,’’ so that messenger of Satan afflicted his eyes with a disease at times, its quite possible; but the reality is Paul had a messenger of the devil following him tormenting him to keep him humble, for in one other scripture he begins to boast then stops himself, probably because that spirit began to harass him, I don’t know but that is what God allowed it to do.

1 Peter 2 24 New King James Version (NKJV) 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength). What this person has forgotten was Paul was taken up into heaven and seen things no man had ever seen, and God was concerned that he might get puffed up by his experience, and he allowed this spirit to remain. If you read this scripture carefully you will see that it was a spirit that afflicted Paul not an actual disease itself, yes it may have used a disease that inflict the eyes but it is and was an evil spirit. A ‘’messenger of Satan,’’

Paul didn’t accept sickness and disease as something God gives for someone to carry on their back, if that was so then why did God use Paul to heal the sick, deliver from demons and to raise the dead; you don’t do those things if you believe that God gives you sickness and diseases, especially if you know that Jesus took our sickness and bore all our disease, ‘’except Pauls?’’ What! That’s ludicrous to think that way; it is deception in its highest form. Chapter two All has been done for us by Jesus

1 Peter 2 Living Bible (TLB) 24 ‘’ He personally carried the load of our sins in his own body’’ when he died on the cross so that we can be finished with sin and live a good life from now on. ‘’For his wounds have healed ours!’’

for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!

10

Here are three different translations from 1 Peter 2 24 they differ slightly but as you can see they are all the same in meaning. I highlighted in pink the parts that are most important.

24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

I stated this that when Jesus died on the cross on Calvary he destroyed sin, sickness and disease; and gave salvation forever, so that Salvation is there for us even if we don’t even ask, it is all done for us by Jesus, and that healing belongs to us because Jesus took our sickness and diseases on to his body for Inus.these scriptures there is truth no matter what the translations are. The very basic has been grounded in the word. Sin has been dealt with in all three, sickness and disease has been healed and something else I would point out wherever you see ‘’righteousness or righteous’’ mentioned you will see in other translation the meaning of righteousness, example= live a good life from now on. Might live for righteousness; live for righteousness; Righteousness means goodness, holiness, spotless, clean, all these beautiful meanings; ‘’living in right standing with God forever.’’ Moving on; For his wounds have healed ours! Doesn’t the word ‘’have’’ mean something is already ours? Yes ‘’have’’ means something belongs to you; for example; I ‘have’ a watch, I ‘have’ a car, they are already mine and when Jesus took our sins he owns them now, not us, but him! He paid for them, and if someone pays for something, then they own it forever. 24 He personally carried the load of our sins in his own body. They now belong to Jesus not to you and I any more, he bought them all. You don’t own something that Jesus paid for; he paid for your sins and mine, and for your sickness and disease, he didn’t leave anyone out, and that included Paul. Paul had a messenger of Satan sent to try and put him off of what he was doing for God; but Paul said he didn’t care about the ‘’satanic messenger,’’ he ignored it, and continued preaching the Good news of the gospel of Christ Jesus and that meant preaching ‘’sickness and disease is healed’’ and is not going to be healed ever again, Jesus will never go on to the cross {tree] again for it is done once and for all time and people.

Romans 6:10 New International Reader's Version

1 Peter 2 New International Version (NIV)

When he died, he died ‘’once and for all time.’’ He did this to ‘’break the power of sin.’’ Now that he lives, he lives in the power of God. Sin separates us from God; and Jesus destroyed sins power by dying for us all, once only, and for all time; he is not going to be crucified again, or suffer again to pay for your sins, he paid the lot for all time, so no one is exempt and that includes Paul. Sin is the cause of sickness and disease for when Adam and Eve sinned that left the door open for the devil to place sickness and disease on us down through the centuries until Jesus destroyed his power over us by destroying sin in itself and paid for it.

For it is something Jesus done by taking that ‘’flogging at the pillar’’ and as his flesh was torn out God replaced it with your sickness disease and pain, because of his mercy and love for you and I. Theologians believe that Paul had a disease of the eyes, maybe he had, but it was caused by that messenger of Satan it was not a disease that Jesus had already healed.

John 19:30-Living Bible

When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished,” and bowed his head and dismissed his spirit. This is the true gospel, the good news for all mankind, for these words means that Jesus had fulfilled every scripture prophecy concerning him and what he would do for mankind, and when he said, ‘’it is finished,’’ he meant ‘’everything’’ God sent him to do for us; for from that moment on mans sins were ‘’already forgiven’’ before he even asks for forgiveness. Mans salvation was ‘’already there’’ for man to receive even before they would ask, mans healing was ‘’already there’’ for us to receive before we even ask again, for everything has already been done and dusted by the work of the cross, ‘’it is finished,’’ meaning that I am not going to do any more to try and save man by some other means. No! ‘’It is finished,’’ ‘it is done,’ all man has to do is accept it, to receive it and believe it is theirs. No matter what version you use, all tell the same story, ‘’it is finished,’’ for this is the work of the cross, and all versions can be trusted to deliver this message the most important message in the bible versions, this is salvation and healing and forgiveness of sins no matter how bad those sins or sickness and diseases are, ‘’it is finished!’’

When this man could not agree with that, even though he saw this in the word as I showed him it, he began quoting Greek to me and saying things were not actually real, that God meant something totally different than what was written. If God says something different from what is in his written word, then he is the world’s biggest liar, and scripture tells us that he is not a liar, things may be translated in different ways but the original word is still totally true there in its entirety.

1 Corinthians 1Living Bible (TLB)

1 From: Paul, chosen by God to be Jesus Christ’s missionary, and from brother Sosthenes.

3 May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you all of his blessings, and great peace of heart and mind.

2 to: the Christians in Corinth invited by God to be his people and made acceptable to him by Christ Jesus. And to: ‘’All’’ ‘’Christians everywhere’’—‘’whoever calls upon the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and theirs.’’

Chapter three

My belief is I believe personally that when People act and talk this way that is a cover for their lack of belief in the word of God. For when push comes to shove do they believe for their own healing, this man didn’t believe even when I prayed with him over a year or so ago, and God healed his disability and he walked normal for a while, then he put on his built up shoe and began walking with a limp again; and when I showed him things to do to remind him Jesus healed him, he never done so, he chose to remain the way he is, he is comfortable with himself and in his disability for if he was healed then he would have to tell the government that he does not now need his DLA, a benefit from the government to help the disabled, and he could not afford to live with less money and he would have to get a job?

In the word to the Corinthians Paul wrote his letter to the Corinthians and to all Christians everywhere; to whoever calls upon the name of the lord Jesus Christ, our Lord and theirs. That means that what Paul had written to the Corinthians, he also wrote to us, as readers and Christian believers, of that first letter.

4 I can never stop thanking God for all the wonderful gifts he ‘’has’’ given you, now that you are Christ’s: 5 he ‘’has’’ enriched your whole life. He ‘’has’’ helped you speak out for him and ‘’has’’ given you a full understanding of the truth; 6 what I told you Christ could do for you ‘’has’’ happened!7 Now you ‘’have’’ every grace and blessing;’’ ‘’every spiritual gift and power’’ for doing his will are ‘’yours’’ during this time of waiting for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. 8 And he ‘’guarantees’’ ‘’right up to the end’’ that you will be counted free from all sin and guilt on that day when he returns.9 God will surely do this for you, for he always does just what he says, and he is the one who invited you into this wonderful friendship with his Son, even Christ our Lord.

Every word that says ‘’has’’ means something had already been done for us by God; and this is what I am writing about here in this little booklet, does the word of God change because it is written in the Greek or the Hebrew, or is it important to have revelation given us in the word we read. The lord gave me the ‘’Living Bible’’ many years ago by a priest called Fr Michael Mc Goldrick; he went into the shop in his monastery and said to me, ‘God told me to give you this bible,’’ and it was, ‘’The Way,’’ ‘’The Living Bible’’ ‘Catholic edition,’ with the Catholic parts separated from the main scriptures in the back of the book, and it has served me well over thirty eight years, as this is the bible that God mainly speaks to me through. In it is the ‘’Greek and Hebrew’’ meanings at the bottom of the page. Someone already translated the Greek and Hebrew meanings for this bible and for others and they are in the footnotes. We can’t separate the word of God saying the Greek says this or that, to use it to oppose someone who does not read Greek or Hebrew. Only theologians and scholars use the ‘Greek or Hebrew’ words to study the fuller extent of the words, sadly some use it to dismiss what someone says about the word, now I am not talking about every Greek scholars, but just a few who use it to justify their unbelief; this is a defensive move to cover unbelief. Those who wrote the bibles were ‘’Greek scholars or Hebrew scholars’’ we are lucky to have their work already done for us in their translations that we use, no one used another different language to translate the word of God, just these two languages, these were the main languages at the time; and all bibles were either translated from the ‘’Greek or the Hebrew’’ many years ago, and over time some translators amplified the words and their meanings to show us even greater detail of what God says to us. But the word of God remains the same no matter who questions them.

1 Corinthians 1-30-Living Bible (TLB)

The living bible tells me that it is from God alone that I have my life through Christ Jesus, and that it is Jesus who made me acceptable to God, I don’t care what way some other bibles say this, for this had made me alive in Christ Jesus full of joy and faith in my loving father.

30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our ***righteousness, holiness and redemption.***31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” {Footnotes :} a. {1 Corinthians 1:10 The Greek word for brothers and sisters (Adelphi) refers here to believers, both men and women, as part of God’s family; also in verses 11 and 26; and in 2:1; 3:1; 4:6; 6:8; 7:24, 29; 10:1; 11:33; 12:1; 14:6, 20, 26, 39; 15:1, 6, 50, 58; 16:15, ***20.}{Righteous means acceptable to God; he made us pure and holy}***

The scholars have done their work for us in the footnotes of the scripture verses if you have a bible you will see those notes, for most bibles have these footnotes somewhere in them. So when you read the word remember that someone in the Greek or Hebrew done the translation for us already, God’s provision is great; the word has already been translated to give the best meaning.

30 For it is from God alone that you have your life through Christ Jesus. He showed us God’s plan of salvation; he was the one who made us {*** acceptable to God; he made us pure and holy***} and gave himself to purchase our salvation.* 31 As it says in the Scriptures, “If anyone is going to boast, let him boast only of what the Lord has done.”

Here is what the NIV bible says and it uses the Greek translation; 1 Corinthians 1-30- NIV Bible

1 John 4:17 New International Version (NIV)

Again to get back to what I was writing about in the beginning; is the word of God true no matter what translation we use, and the answer is ‘’yes,’’ for you can see in the footnotes that the word has either been translated from the Greek or Hebrew language, that main language at the time the word was written so be assured that what God says to you is what he wants you to hear from him.

John 4:17 King James Version

1

17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the Day of Judgment: ‘’in this world ‘’we’’ are ‘like’ Jesus.’’

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because ‘’as he is,’’ ‘’so are ‘we’ in this world.’’

17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness on the Day of Judgment, because ‘’as he is,’’ ‘’so are ‘we’ in this world.’’

Chapter four Boasting in the lord Boasting in the lord is something I do, I tell folks that my God can do anything and that ‘’nothing is impossible to him;’’ to me nothing is possible, but because I am ‘’one in’’ and ‘’with Christ Jesus’’ I believe that all things are possible through me, for I am a ‘son of God,’ just as you are, or a daughter, for God says we are his children. And the father loves us equally and sees us as ‘’Covered by his son Jesus blood,’’ and ‘’as he is so are we in this world,’’ this is what the word of God says we are and it does not matter to me whether it is in the Greek Or Hebrew as long as it is in the word and can be confirmed by other translations also.

1 John 4:17 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)

3-‘’His divine power has granted to us ‘’everything pertaining to life and godliness,’’ through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 4-For by these He ‘’has’’ granted to us ‘’His precious and magnificent promises,’’ so that by them you may become ‘’partakers of the divine nature,’’ having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. This theologian has used the Greek to defend his unbelief saying, God gave him his disability because he has healed him from being a person who could not walk or do anything, to now walking and doing things though not healed fully. He believes that God somehow or other uses this for his glory. Miracles demonstrate God’s glory and eternal goodness. Psalm 111:3 Living Bible (TLB)

2 Peter 1:3 New American Standard Bible

John 4:17-Amplified Bible (AMP)

17 In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the Day of Judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because ‘’as He is,’’ ‘’so are ‘we’ in this world.’’ Here are four different translations that all tell us the same thing, as ‘’he is,’’ ‘’so are we’’ in this world’ or in this world ‘’we’’ are ‘’like Jesus, ’’ the same difference. {‘’Like means equal to!’’} These words in the word of God are vital to us Christians for they tell us that as far as God is concerned we are the exact same as Jesus to him in this world that we live in now, and we have the same power as Jesus had whilst on this earth to use against the devil, or sickness or diseases or pain in people; and no matter what translation we use, the power of God in us is absolute. I boast that God has done everything for me and he has given me everything I need in this life for all things are already mine and yours if you believe his word.

For his ‘’miracles’’ ‘’demonstrate’’ ‘’his honour,’ ‘majesty,’ and ‘eternal goodness.’’ Sickness and disease do not demonstrate God’s honour, Majesty, or eternal goodness; they demonstrate that Satan the devil is doing these things. Jesus said the thief comes to steal kill and destroy, and he came to do the opposite.

Luke 5:12 New American Standard Bible

If Jesus gave us sickness and disease then why did he pretend to come and give life to the fullest measure??? This is a contradiction to what Jesus actually came for, he said he came to ‘do the will of the father’ and the fathers will is healing and life to the fullest not sickness and cancerous diseases or muscle wasting disease or some vile deformity.

Thinking that God gave us the back to carry our diseases, would be the world’s biggest con; then why suffer at the scourging at the pillar, if what this man says is right, then Jesus defrauded us all by pretending to swap our diseases for the flesh torn out of his body by that terrible ‘cat of nine tails’ that leaded whip with nine pieces to it. Think about this; Jesus had the flesh torn out of his body by that terrible whip which was wielded with powerful force, and sometimes the men lashing Jesus had to swop because they got tired, and still every part of his body leaving no private part out was torn to bits with that awful whip, and someone has the audacity to say God gave people the back to carry what terrible thing has happened to them, how awful to say such things especially when you say you are a Bible theologian and you teach scripture. They make God out to be a monster who gives you sickness just so he could come like some hero and heal us if he wanted to. What did Jesus say to the man who questioned him saying, if you want to, you could heal me?

The thief comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, life in its fullest measure.

John 10:10-Complete Jewish Bible

12While He was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man covered with leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, "Lord, if You are ‘willing,’

You can make me clean." 13And He stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." And immediately the leprosy left him. ‘’I am willing,’’ Jesus said and this is to every human being for afterwards he went to his suffering and death to prove to the world he took and paid for their sins and sickness and diseases. As I said I prayed with this man and God healed his disabled body and he stood erect, normal, and walked without his special shoes on, until I left, then he put his platform built up shoes on again and his healing left; this was and is not the will of God. This very theologian was healed from his disability but gave it up again as fast as he received it, when he put his built up shoes on again, and didn’t do as the lord told me and someone else there, who witnessed his healing; and she got the same message as me to tell him.

He is telling her a Christian mother of a disabled son, that God gave her the back to carry this Childs disability, rather than tell her God can heal him if she teaches this child in the ways of the lord; for I seen this child at the age of one week lift himself up by his little arms as I prayed with him and played with him, and I saw into his eyes and the lord allowed me to see his spirit through his eyes, and ‘’I commanded healing into him,’’ but his mother always proclaimed him to be a disabled child, even when a professor at a special hospital in a foreign land gave her the same words that God gave me for him, God said, ‘’a child is like a brand new computer, if you programme a good programme into him, you will get a good programme from him;’’ when his mother and father saw this professors team one of the team proclaimed the ‘’same words’’ God gave me for him, but that didn’t make any difference she focused on his disability and glorified it to the hilt and especially when she got extra money for him here in Ireland. If God wanted to use sickness and disease, then why defeat the purpose of the plan he used, he used his Son Jesus for to take our sickness and bear our disease, and why would he send him into the world to drive out sickness and disease and even demons and death; if sickness and disease was for our good.

Jesus said, ‘’I have come to do the will of my father,’’ and he healed everyone who came to him; he never said to anyone, ‘’sorry my father gave you the back to carry this.’’ So now I’m taking away what I am about to do for the whole world by not healing you, so there is a flaw in what I am about to do. If you believe this way, then there was no salvation and no taking our sickness and disease on his body and putting it to death by his own death; sort of defeats the purpose in Jesus suffering then, if you could do something for yourself doesn’t it? 1 Corinthians 1Living Bible (TLB) 9 That is what is meant by the Scriptures which say that no mere man has ever seen, heard, or even imagined what wonderful things God ‘’has’’ ready for those who love the Lord. 10 But we know about these things because God ‘’has’’ sent his Spirit to tell us, and his Spirit searches out and shows us all of God’s deepest secrets.11 No one can really know what anyone else is thinking or what he is really like except that person himself. And no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit.12 And God ‘’has’’ actually given us his Spirit (not the world’s spirit) to tell us about the wonderful ‘’free gifts of grace and blessing’’ that God ‘’has’’ given us.13 In telling you about these gifts we have even used the very words given to us by the Holy Spirit, not words that we as men might choose. So we use the ‘’Holy Spirit’s words’’ to explain the ‘’Holy Spirit’s facts.’’ God speaks to millions of Christians through his word no matter what version they use be it Japanese or Chinese or British You can see again that God uses the word ‘’has’’ here in this scripture telling us he ‘’has’’ given us something, awesome isn’t it? Has in any version means has. Amen
