Since 2013, Borealis has focused on creating beautiful, high performance snowboards built with as many sustainable materials as possible. With our new logo, we have moved further into the efficient minimalism we cherish so much. Borealis Snowboards is a French snowboard brand created in 2013 by Ben Hall, a French-English snowboarder who grew up between Geneva in Switzerland and the French Mont-Blanc Region. With 35 years experience riding mountains combined with feedback from some of the best riders out there, Borealis is proud to offer you gear that is both high-performance but also incredibly comfortable to ride.
Each model has its own identity and style, and each is designed for different riding experiences and style. Our unique hand-made gear includes premium eco-friendly materials such as natural bamboo, bioplastic, Zero-VOC resin, sustainable wood, recycled steel edges and other alternative solutions. As a snowboard brand, we do our very best to limit our impact on the

Our boards are shaped and designed in our Avignon HQ in France. We are connected to a green energy provider making our board development process carbon neutral.
Since 2013, we have incorporated as many alternative less poluting materials as possible including wood grown in responsibly-managed forests to biodegrable flurorine-free wax. eco-wax.
All our boards are shipped from the factory by ocean freight. Maritime shipping is the means of transportation with the smallest carbon footprint.
Our factory uses only VOC-free resins, inks and lacquer, has waste water management, scrap recycling and green energy processes.
The exceptional quality and durability of our production is testimony to our passion and will to offer superior gear. We offer an industry-leading 4 year guarantee on all boards.
We donate discarded boards to Nok Boards, an upcycling company based in Grenoble which uses them to produce longboards. It’s a cool way to give a second life to broken gear.
Since 2020, Borealis has been a member of the EOCA (European Outdoor Conservation Association). It creates and manages conservation projects throughout the world.

The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is a charity organisation set up in 2006 by the European Outdoor Group (EOG) to enable companies from the outdoor sector to work collectively together. EOCA, with its members, supports and funds a growing number of much needed grassroots conservation, protection and regeneration projects around the world, protecting the wild places and wildlife we care about.
Financed by membership and fundraising activities with over 150 members, EOCA is unique as it provides companies accross the sector the opportunity to work together, making a positive difference to threatened wild places, species and habitats.
Funded projects tackle the loss of biodiversity and mitigate against climate change, whilst also having a link to the outdoor enthusiast, being beneficial to local communities and leave a lasting, positive legacy.
EOCA has now funded 184 projects in over 65 countries around the world, investing over €5 million in conservation.

THE ULTIMATE CARVING TECHNOLOGY
All our boards are built using Edge Synergy technology. The combination of a progressive sidecut, our mellow Sidewaves and reverse radius contact points make our boards the most advanced carving devices out there.
PROGRESSIVE SIDECUT
This type of sidecut is designed to allow you to make small turns easily at lower speeds and to stay super stable and agressive when bombing down at mach 2 in bigger turns.
Between the contact points and the inserts, the radius is smaller, more playful. When gaining speed and turning, the central part of the board is more called upon. The wider radius then takes over, adding support, stability and increased edge hold when you need it the most.
PROGRESSIVE SIDECUT
SIDEWAVES & REVERSE RADIUS
Mellow disruptions are added to the sidecut in front and behind of both binding areas. We call them Sidewaves. They add grip and edge hold to the board on very hard or icy terrain. Next time you see a dodgy-looking ice patch, you'll know your board's Sidewaves will slice through it and maintain you on course with confidence and comfort.
Many Borealis snowboards come with a reverse radius at the contact points. The transition from one radius to a reversed one right at the contact points makes them incredibly efficient at holding an edge. Carving at high speed takes on a new meaning, and you'll up your game faster than it takes to say it.

The UltraLight Forest Core is made of poplar and paulownia. As the name suggests, it is light but also highly resistant and snappy. Paulownia brings lightness and poplar offers stength and durability.
ELEMENT CORE
SUSTAINABLE WOOD, BAMBOO & BASALT BEAMS
The Element Core is a beefed-up version of the UL Forest Core. As in the latter, bamboo adds rebound and response. Paulownia brings lightness and poplar offers stength and durability. In the Element Core, laminated biax fibre has been added to the core, bringing extra pop and strength to the board.
LIQUID SIDEWALLS
ULTRA-SMOOTH RIDING TECHNOLOGY
We use liquid polyurethane to make our Liquid Sidewalls. They have several different roles. They act as a barrier if something hit your board (branches, rocks, skis in queues, etc). They follow your board’s flex, moving along as it does very fluidly. Finally, they act as a very efficient dampening agent, cancelling unwanted chatter and absorbing impact. The result is an ultra-smooth ride, allowing you to move at faster speeds for longer periods of time with less fatigue.

The tip and rocker have been redrawn, making the Drakkar more fluid and even better in powder. We tweaked the sidecut radius and contact points to release the board's full carving potential. FWT veteran Clément Bochatay is mainly a big mountain rider but he also enjoys end of season shred, hitting side hits, speeding and carving on piste and sending it big in the backcountry. This is why he wanted a board capable of fulfilling his big mountain rider's needs (stable at high speed in powder, secure edge-hold in very steep and icy conditions, capable of landing cliffs, etc) whilst being versatile-enough to enjoy everyday cruising on piste and sending tricks when he felt like it. We believe we achieved that with the Alpine Pro Split. The tapered directional twin shape is great for freeriding and keep enough of twin spirit to allow switch riding and landings. The precise and aggressive flex, hybrid sidecut, tweaked contact points and Sidewaves keep Clément safe in high Alpine conditions. The Alpine Pro Split is a technical big-mountain/freeride splitboard but unlike similar models from other manufacturers, it stays versatile enough to enjoy the mountain in all of its aspects.

A tribute to Hokkaido’s massive snow dumps, the Koi Split, covered with traditional Japanese wagara patterns, is our directional surfy splitboard for deep powder riding and hard snow slicing.
This board is one of our founding models, launched back in 2015. It probably is the most distinctive boards of the Borealis line as its Japanese identity can be recognised through its name, its minimalist graphics, and of course, its riding performance. It is the most balanced directional powder shape in the line.
