Phil Peterson’s Key West Poker Run 6 Cards and 6 Stops, Winner Takes All

The Peterson Family, the Diabetes Research Institute and The Key West Sunrise Rotary, would like to thank everyone for participating in another successful and fun-filled Poker Run weekend. WOW, that a great “Poker Run Bike Week” and weekend this turned out to be! The weather did not look good according to the weather reports with an 80 to 90% chance of rain for Thursday and Friday but that is NOT how it turned out! The Harley® Gods shined on us once again with only an occasional shower or downpour depending on where you were and when, but with a smart phone and the radar app it

was very manageable. The Keys Bike Week with parties and entertainment scheduled for Monday to Thursday started off very slow again this year due to poor weather. On Friday morning, I headed down with Stu Jones from Paradise Riders to film the Run and ride down for another episode of “The Florida Motorcycle Riding Life Style” show to be aired on Fox Sun Sports Network this fall. The weather for Saturday and Sunday was Blue Skies and Beautiful for the Duval Street Bike Show with all the show bikes parked in front of Rick’s/Dirty Harry’s and Sloppy Joe’s dominated by all the Custom

Baggers from all the local builders. They really amped it up this year with their beautiful detailed creations of rolling art producing Booming Music and some great showmanship. Congratulations to Peter Gonzalez for taking the Best in Show and Cartel Baggers for winning Best Pro Shop (See ALL the winners on our website!) We signed up about the same amount of people to play poker as we did last year about 3,000 but we had a lot more people pay for parking on Duval Street. Thanks, you all who played and participated! Triumph Street Cup

Delivering on our ambition to bring riders more choice and build on the Street Twin’s position as the fun and accessible contemporary Bonneville, the new Street Cup joins the Street Twin line up as the contemporary urban sports custom street racer. With a name inspired by the club racing scene, the Street Cup has been designed to deliver all the attitude, personality, presence and style of a contemporary custom cafe racer for today’s riders. As you would expect from its name the BTR 24 | BORNTORIDE.COM

new Street Cup is also absolutely loaded with distinctive and beautiful urban sports features and details, including: • Authentic bullet seat with Alcantara effect top panel, beautifully accented with Silver contrast stitching • Café racer inspired seat cowl, body colour painted with number board graphics. Easily removable to reveal pillion seat area • Color matched fly-screen with matching graphic • Contemporary bar-end mirrors with forged arms

• Twin clocks with polished stainless steel bezels, as featured on Thruxtons • Thruxton R style foot pegs • Thruxton forged headlight mounts and painted bowl and bezel • Sporty fork protectors, replacing the Street Twin’s classic ‘fork gaiters’ • Stylish Black bullet indicators

Sharing the same contemporary custom styling principles as the Street Twin, the new Street Cup has the iconic Bonneville silhouette combined with clean lines, minimal bodywork and modern finishes.

Contemporary Urban Sports Bonneville

These include cast wheels, elegant fuel tank with a locking fuel cap, black sculpted engine covers with the Triumph makers mark triangle and Bonneville engine badge, elegant single throttle body with aluminium finisher and distinctive finned head and header clamps.

Enhanced throttle response from Triumph’s ride-by-wire fuel injection and cutting-edge liquid cooling system, carefully integrated into the distinctive character of the Street Cup, reduces fuel emissions and significantly improves fuel efficiency by up

to 36% on the previous generation. This, combined with a new extended service interval of 10,000 miles (16,000km) dramatically reduces the overall cost of ownership.

To match its ‘street racer’ attitude the Street Cup has been developed to deliver more dynamic and sports focused ergonomics – without compromise to everyday comfort. Compared to the Street Twin the rider is seated slightly higher and further back and the handlebar position is lower and slightly further forwards. This

delivers a more engaged riding position and also improves physical turn in.

There are new distinctive dropped ‘Ace’ style bars and new, model specific rear suspension units that are longer (though still with the same 120mm rear wheel travel of the Street Twin), which raises the back end and steepens the head angle. Combined with the sporty riding position this enhances the bikes agility for direction changes.

Pitiful to Grateful- A Christmas Story

After returning from a cool late autumn ride south of our home here in north Georgia, I discovered an old Dr. James Dobson book on our bookshelves that I had never read, so I decided to thumb through it. It is a collection of stories from Dobson’s life, or folks he has known over the years. I found one in particular that gripped my heart, and thought it would be worth sharing this holiday season. Dobson recounts how much his father was always a dog-lover, and enjoyed a special friendship with a toy terrier named Penny for 17 years. When Penny’s health failed and they had to put him down, Dobson Sr. grieved for nine years, refusing to replace his little companion. Finally, he opened his heart to the possibility of another little toy terrier, but for months had no luck in finding one. Finally, answering an ad in the paper, Dobson Sr. and his wife drove across town to see the pup at a pet store. With a strict set of parameters in mind (pedigree papers, good temperament, six-weeks-old, all shots, etc.), they instead found the pup to be nine-months-old, no papers, in poor health, malnourished and traumatized, quivering in a filthy, overcrowded kennel. Astonished that anyone would even offer an animal in this condition, Dobson Sr. recalls the encounter with the pitiful little pup- (excerpts) “He followed me about the room, meekly, his tiny tail clamped tightly down, a picture of dejection. ... He seemed to be saying, ‘You look like a nice man, but I know you will be like all the rest’. … He stuck out his warm pink tongue and licked my hand, as if to say, ‘Thanks anyway, for coming to see me.’” They drove off, but then suddenly turned around, unable to leave that little pup in there. They adopted the little ragamuffin, and bringing the pitiful fellow home, the Dobsons bathed him, got him all the proper medical attention, and put him on a healthy diet coupled with heaping helpings of TLC. Benji, as they named him, became a wonderful little addition to the family. As Dobson Sr. writes- “He thinks I am God Almighty when he comes to meet me in the morning, twisting and wiggling like he will tear himself in two. It is as though he will never allow himself to forget his private hell in the pet shop!” Being dog-lovers ourselves, who recently had to say goodbye to a beloved little adoptee named Johnny we’d had for 12 years, the story resonated with me. I was also reminded of a verse I read in the Bible once, that really related well to the above story“When the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, that He might redeem those under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” (Galatians 4:4) The word “redeem” means to “buy out of the market,” specifically a slave market or an animal market. And everyone knows what “adoption” means. Together, these words tell us what Christmas is all about, a heavenly adoption arranged by a benevolent Father. To me, BTR 30 | BORNTORIDE.COM

Dobson Sr. is a picture of God in the above story, except of course that God came for us, fully knowing our condition, and in compassion reached out to us. We are “Benji” in the story, except of course that we have a choice – we can gladly receive our adoption as Benji did his, or we can say, “No thanks, I like it here in the ‘pet shop.’” This Christmas, every time I see a Nativity, hear a choir sing, or witness a gift being unwrapped, I want to remember Benji’s adoption, and be thankful myself. And may my response to my Master be the same as Benji’s response to his master – enthusiastic, uninhibited and whole-hearted. Just some thoughts for your holiday season. From all of us and our families at Born To Ride, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Rob

This original story ran in BTR in 2006, things may have changed in the Ukraine by now.

BORNTORIDE.COM | BTR 33

On May 7, the streets of Zaporozhye (a small industrial city 600 km south of Kiev) roared like thunder as the festivities began for the annual opening day celebrations of the Ukrainian biker season. Bikers from all parts of the Ukraine and the former Soviet Union were in attendance. I caught up with the Zaporozhye “Silver Star” bikers club on a cloudy, rain-swept morning under one of the few remaining statues of the once mighty revolutionary hero Vladimir Ilyich Lenin who stands in a small park overlooking the river Dnepr—which locally and historical is famous for its Cossack heritage. I was welcomed with enthusiasm and warm handshakes by the club members before being seated on the back of the club Trike where I could enjoy (first hand) the carnival BTR 34 | BORNTORIDE.COM

atmosphere of the opening day parade. We cruised down the main highway “Prospect Lenina” to the city center. We stopped for a public photo shoot and press release session before heading off to our final destination where the main festivities would then take place. A beautiful, scenic hideaway situated on the Island of Hortitsa where the once mighty and much feared Cossack warriors dwelled some hundreds of years before would set the arena for the modern day free spirited warriors. Unfortunately, weather conditions did not allow for the spectacular stunts usually performed by the club members on the opening day celebrations, but the other fun and games went ahead as planned. After settling in with a touch of light refreshment and a little leg stretching, the

evening’s entertainment got underway. First on the evening’s agenda were a few games to test the rider’s bike handling skills, and as always “bite the sausage” was a firm favorite for the ladies. The rider must slowly pass under a line of hanging sausages with his lady passenger standing on the back foot pegs. The lady without using her hands must bite the end off the sausage as they pass underneath. It really is enough to bring tears to the eyes of even the most hardened male biker. As darkness fell it was time (as the club president so quaintly put it) to feed the family. One and all were given the full VIP treatment as a vast array of traditional Ukrainian foods, various meats cooked over open fires and local beers and spirits were on display and quickly consumed to the

music of some local, up and coming, rock bands. It was truly a feast fit for a king that satisfied the heartiest of appetites, including my own. During the course of the evening I was able to escape the wild side of life and pin down a very busy club Vice president Eugene and ask him a few questions about the Silver Star bikers club and what it means to be a biker in the Ukraine. Eugene explains: “There are 25 regions in the Ukraine, each has its own official biker club. Every club holds its own opening day celebrations and, of course, the bigger the

club, the bigger the celebrations. In Kiev and Odessa, for example, they have massive festivals that go on for three or four days. They have famous rock groups performing and a number of other events that a small club like ours couldn’t possibly dream of holding. Even so, all the biker clubs in the Ukraine have very close ties and no matter how big or small the event, you can see most clubs represented at every festival.” “We are also seeing a larger and larger number of foreign biker visiting the bigger shows. Every year the attendances are expanding and this is something we are

positively encouraging. It’s always a pleasure to meet new people and we are always proud to welcome visitors from abroad in the traditional Ukrainian way. There are many beautiful places to visit in the Ukraine, especially around the Black sea and Odessa where we have a special hotel for bikers with secure parking, clean accommodation and even a repair shop. Zaporozhye is a city steeped in Cossack history with some of the most stunning landscapes in the world. And then there’s our beautiful capital city of Kiev which is a very European orientated city where I think just about every one speaks at

least a little English. So there is a lot to see and do here in the Ukraine.” “We officially registered our club “Silver Star” bikers club on March 4, 2004. We were the first officially registered club in the city of Zaporozhye. Originally there were seven members, (we like to call them the founding fathers) that’s why our club symbol is a seven-point star, one point for each founder.” “Although the club has only been an official organization for a couple of years, the actual idea to start a bikers club had been in the air for much longer. It all really began at

the mechanic’s garage. We call him the mechanic because he is the most wellknown and respected bike mechanic for miles around. His house is an open house for bikers; we all used to gather around his place on regular bases and discuss everything about bikes.” “We talked for months about opening a club and threw a lot of ideas around, but for a long time that was as far as it got, just talk. Eventually someone had to do something a little more positive and set the wheels in motion. So I said ‘Let’s do it, let’s stop talking and get it done.’ And that’s where the

Freedom is being in the wind no matter where you live you are Born To Ride.

idea to open an official bikers club took its roots.” “In Donetsk there is a famous biker’s bar named the Chicago. It’s owned by one the Ukraine’s most legendary bikers, his name is ‘Palych.’ Palych runs the bar as a meeting place for bikers, not as an official club. You can meet bikers from all over the Ukraine at the Chicago. Palych, I suppose, is like a hero to us and it’s a great honor for any club to have him attend one of their festivals. Although he is one of the Ukraine’s oldest bikers, he still tries to attend every festival no matter how far away. This year BORNTORIDE.COM | BTR 37

we are especially honored to see Palych here because he has traveled all the way from Donetsk on a quad bike, even though he has recently suffered a broken leg.” “Another legendary biking hero is a guy we call ‘Magisterial.’ He is about 55 years old and originally comes from White Church. Magisterial is famous for traveling. He has ridden all over, Europe, America, Scandinavia and other countries. He has attended some of the most famous biking events in the world, including the HarleyDavidson centenary celebration in Europe. He is fondly known by the bikers of the Ukraine as the ‘lone wolf’ because he always travels alone.” “At the moment the whole biker scene is still a bit of a novelty in our country and as a result biking is very expensive. There wasn’t even an official bike shop in the Ukraine until three years ago; you had to go to Moscow to buy a bike. That in its self was, and still BTR 38 | BORNTORIDE.COM

is a barrier for people wanting to own a bike and become seriously involved in the biking culture. So of course, you don’t see as many new sport bikes or Harley-Davidson choppers over here as you would in Europe or the States; people simply cannot afford to buy them. However, considering the fact that we have only been free to build our biker culture since the collapse of the Soviet Union some 15 years ago, I think we are not doing too badly. Every year the number of bikers attending our festivals is expanding, and every year there are more and larger festivals being held. More bike shops are opening all over the Ukraine and touring is becoming easier with more pit-stop hotels, for bikers, opening up. We are also seeing an increasing number of biker clubs and biker bars opening that are dedicated to promoting the free spirit of biking.” I thanked Eugene and bid him a fond farewell leaving the Silver Star bikers club

with many happy memories. I had been welcomed like royalty and treated like a king, and after spending a few days riding with the Silver Star bikers club I was left in no doubt that biking in the Ukraine is defiantly heading in the right direction to becoming a firm favorite on the bikers touring calendar. The Ukraine is one of the world’s few remaining un-discovered treasures. Exotic seaside resorts, wonderfully warm people, some of the tastiest cuisine in the world and all in all a very inexpensive place to travel, all of which makes the Ukraine a very attractive touring destination. So if you are looking to take a great ride in a wonderful and unique country, come and take a ride with the Cossacks and discover the beauty of the Ukraine. I did and it was a whole lot of fun. Mark D. Hindley

Oct 7-10, 2016 was Road Queen USA’s 2nd annual Women Riders Weekend Bash — a weekend full of rides, friendship, parties, presentations and learning. It was also the weekend of a massive hurricane! Did that stop 147 women from around the country from coming to Florida on motorcycles? NO! Women from Canada, California, Minnesota, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Mexico and points in between descended into Citrus County where we took over the Riverside Resort in Old Homosassa. Some areas in Florida and South Carolina were on mandatory evacuation and came on Saturday instead and others had to flee and get here Thursday, but we did our best to help everyone find

accommodations. Many women opened their homes to travelers and showed the true meaning of “sisterhood.” Road Queen USA events are meant to inspire and promote Women and Motorcycling while “Riding for a Cause” and this weekend was no exception! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, Community Food Bank of Citrus County, Rangerlady.org’s the Forgotten and the We Care Food Pantry were all recipients of this event. War Horse Harley-Davidson provided a catered brunch on Saturday where we also had classes such as picking up your motorcycle and street strategies. Saturday was an evening of fun that included a tutu contest at High Octane. A shuttle was

provided by Road Queen USA so there was no drinking and riding and everyone got back to the resort safely. Check out the pics and look for future Road Queen USA events … such as May 6, 2017 International Female Ride Day where we will attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of women on motorcycles in one location. This record is currently held by Australia … 1,002 women. Crystal Harley and War Horse Harley along with Road Queen USA want to break this record! So gather up your friends and plan on being here in Citrus County that weekend! Just call me for more information or look for the event on Facebook by searching Florida International Female Ride Day 2017.

Ultra Bright Led Lights

We our the #1 Leading Seller Of Premium Led Lights in the USA

I was a master electrician and an electrical contractor for 28 years. After I retired from that, we started out being a dealer for a few other LED light companies, which led to becoming a distributor for two different companies. A few years went by and we started seeing the problems with the way LED strips were built; we also noticed issues with the CPU controllers. So, we started developing our own system. We started from the ground up. First, we analyzed how to make the LED strips better. All other companies use epoxy – epoxy silicon. Some companies try to say their LED strips are silicone. The problem with the type of silicone that many manufacturers use is it turns yellow in a very short time, and then the LED lights are not the true color – and not as bright over time. So, we developed an LED strip that is made of pure silicone. Our LED strips will not turn yellow, staying crystal clear, which means they remain as bright as the first day you put them on. Next, we looked at the CPU controller and restructured it. Our CPU has three wires that come attached with four plugs on each wire. No one else does this. UItra Bright LEDs have 80% more functions than our closest competitor. With our new improved CPU controller, consumers have enough power to light up a lot of LED lights for cars, motorcycles, trikes, trucks, and boats. Most CPU

controllers only produced 90-watts. We made ours 150-watts, and it is even smaller than our competitors. We wanted our LED lights to outpower any system out today. So, if you’re looking for the Best LED System on the market today we are it! We are always looking for more dealers to sell our product, and if you want to sell the best please call or email us. Just as we have been loyal to our customers through our warranty and customer service, our customers have continued to amaze us by being loyal to us. The biggest source of our growth has come from personal referrals from our customers. For that, we cannot extend our gratitude enough. We think the best way is to treat your friends as we have treated you. Please be safe and continue to send your great comments and pictures. We get great satisfaction from hearing from each of you. Thank you so much for your business. May life’s curves keep coming! As you can see for yourself ours does many different thing. More then any other LED System out there. We sell the Best LED Light System in the Market today. Many of you who read Born To Ride magazine have seen our stories and various advertisements for Love Jugs. I was able to spend some time with Steve West, CEO of Love Jugs. Steve provided some new, exciting information about Love Jugs’ entry into the police world! “The police have more use for Love Jugs because they do so much slow riding. They also do a lot of idling when they have someone pulled over. Think how uncomfortable that bike is once they get back on the Motorcycle – it can be burning hot! By putting Love Jugs on their bikes, it solves all of those problems.” “Placement of Love Jugs is tremendous because so many times, for example, police officers are in a parade. With the slow riding, the bikes are burning the riders’ thighs and other body parts, and they can’t pull the bike off to the side to cool off. It’s just a matter of toughening it out. Having Love Jugs installed on the bikes eliminates that issue.” In ending our conversation, Steve mentioned, “Everyone needs Love Jugs. Police departments all over the world are discovering Love Jugs! Our biggest customer so far is the New York City Police Department. They told the Nassau County Police Department and now they are Love Jugs customers! Many other police departments around the world either have Love Jugs on their bikes and/or are testing them to place on all of the department bikes.” Recently, a Police Motor Unit blog stated, “Every police motorcycle in the world should be equipped with Love Jugs!” If your Motor Unit would like more info on getting your Motorcycles Equiped with Love-Jugs, Contact: Steve 561-499-0974

FREE INSURANCE POLICY REVIEW By Matt Danielson, The Motorcycle Law Group

An insurance agent’s job is to sell you the best policy at the lowest rate. However, your agent may not be thinking about what happens to you if you are injured by someone who bought very little insurance, or none at all. No matter how much you may like your agent, after a claim is filed your agent is out of the picture. Your claim is handled by an adjuster, and that person’s job is to save their company money. Attorneys analyze policies and claims after an accident The attorneys at Motorcycle Law Group are experienced in reviewing and analyzing insurance policies when you need them most – after an accident involving a major claim. It’s our job to help ensure you get everything you’re entitled to under your insurance policy in the event of a major accident. We invite you to submit your insurance policies for a free review from our legal team. We can tell you if you have the right coverages in the right amount so that you and your family are properly protected. Through our free policy review, our team can advise you on: - How to get the best coverage - How to organize multiple policies to your advantage - If you have enough, or even too much, of a specific coverage - Which coverages and limits you need to ensure you’re protected We’ve helped many riders get much more coverage with relatively little change to their rates. The process is simple, free and takes no longer than one week. What you need to get started and what to expect from us: Step 1 – Send us your insurance policy’s declarations pages, typically the first three to four pages of your policy, via fax or email (numbers and emails for each state listed below). These pages

explain the types and amounts of coverage for every vehicle on your policy. Step 2 – Someone from our firm will review and recommend changes to the policy to give you more coverage to protect you or your family in the event of an accident or damages to your vehicle. After we send our recommendations, we’ll ask if you have any questions or feedback. Step 3 – Send your feedback to Motorcycle Law Group, we’ll finalize the recommended changes and discuss them with you. Step 4 – Take the changes directly to your insurance agent and ask them to update your policy. Remember, your insurance agent is the salesperson. We want to help you get the coverage you’ll need so you’re protected if you find yourself dealing with an adjuster. *Send GEORGIA policies to Chad Fuller via email at chad@motorcyclelawgroup.com or fax to (803) 926-7508. Craven Moorehead as the thieves who do this have the capability to access your information without using a local source. The bank tells me that sometime soon I will get my money back but. … Anyhow being broke always makes for a fantastic holiday season, but besides all that BS and misfortune I continue to fight and count my blessings!

grave series of consequences which will haunt you for several months after the big holiday. For me, simply surviving Thanksgiving was tough enough. Unemployed and unable to make a decent living on the sale of my remaining possessions, I started to realize that this particular Christmas holiday wasn’t going to live up to the expectations of my recipients and the never-ending repercussions are likely to follow me for quite some time. This however is not a problem for a soldier (even a Soldier of Misfortune). I continue to fight even though that enemy wearing the festive red coat and the long white beard is threatening my home territory here in the trailer park. I have come to the realization that I must find a way to at least salvage the season, and not let down my loved ones, family, and friends. But there are always setbacks. … The internet, albeit a great thing for most people has serious issues and I have written several times that its sole purpose was for the distribution of pornographic material. Well, the dark side of that wonderful medium of communication recently took a toll on me. I went to the Home Depot to buy some building materials and that turned out to be a financial fiasco. My debit card was hacked, and the morons who got the card number were able to make sure that I had no dough in my bank account. Although the balance was miniscule, I spent several days trying to get back the money, and I was fairly sure that I had the intelligence not to use the card to do on-line transactions. YOU my friends, should be careful as well

The Soldier of Misfortune Welcome, my dedicated readers to the Christmas edition of my column here in this very special magazine. I have been writing for Born To Ride going on 15 years or more, purely for the entertainment of my readers (like you) who continue to remind me every time I’m too busy or drunk to turn in a story on time. I was certainly inspired by Hunter S. Thompson’s (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Rum Diaries …) daily schedule which included rising at noon, smoking Dunhills, drinking coffee and cognac till the late evening when he would begin to write. Unfortunately for me, I can’t afford a lifestyle that includes these simple pleasures in life, with the exception of some bargain cigarettes and whatever beer is on sale at the corner store. For some reason I recently wished that I had published my incredible life journey as Hunter did, but alas, I spent most of my time working or goofing off instead of doing something positive. All my indiscretions and regrets probably are not on the forefront of your concern, but they will certainly continue to provide some interesting reading material regarding life on the edge of irreparable poverty. There are few things that inspire me more than that happy anticipation in the faces of the children who expect that special gift from Santa, and you can’t forget the same look that is displayed upon the faces of your spouses, family members, and friends. This is, after all the season for commercialism and failing to live up to the desires of your specific beneficiaries will certainly cause a

While you are counting your gifts this holiday season remember there are always people who have it a lot worse than you do. Remember to count your blessings! A few months before the holiday heyday, I bought this little crappy car for the ol’ lady to drive around. I didn’t have a lot of money from the crap I sold so you get what you pay for, but the thing was better than walking and it needed a little bit of work. Thanks to one of her brothers we were able to get the needed tie rods replaced without having to pay much. This was a blessing. Then when we needed an alignment, I took the car over to Absolute Auto over on U.S. 92 to get it fixed. These guys are great! So as it turns out, we also needed front tires and they hooked us up at a good deal. I would highly recommend them if you live in the Dover / Seffner area (813-659-1302). This was a blessing. The Ol’ Lady also got the El Jefe position at the trailer park, and we were very happy to move to a much larger trailer with a lot more room and a large kitchen for us to cook the food we don’t really have - and certainly this was a blessing! So, in my opinion I guess it’s not really about how much money you have to throw around – or how much you can tell people that you have more material things than them etc. etc. … I think that really the entire holiday season should be about loving one another and remembering that Christmas is really about celebrating Christ’s birth. I know that there’s a lot to do and a lot to say, but the reality lies in the blessing that we all have received. Keep the faith bitches!! I’m still pissed off, still broke, but I continue to believe and fight! Here’s wishing you a very great Christmas and remember to speed safely! CRAVEN

Biker Movie Review the money, it’s because he’s just plain mean. The zombies are released when a curious little boy opens a door in the apparently abandoned mine, thus releasing the un-dead, and of course this act is his un-doing. In the mean time, the girls are in town, and decide to split up and go look for some meat. One of them is run over by the mortician, and is turned into a zombie, while the others find their way into various sexual situations with the local guys. This is where we first meet Billy Bob who plays the ex of one of the chopper chicks. They meet in a church where the dwarf is attempting to shoot her, and retreat to his trailer for some fun. Another mistake for the midget, and more punishment later, the zombies are still marching on, and they are getting hungry! On the way to town the zombies encounter a group of blind orphans, who are stranded just on the outskirts after their bus breaks down. Luckily for the kids their bus-driver always keeps an Uzi on the bus (for sentimental reasons) and while the driver seeks help the kids (shooting blindly) manage to hold off the zombies until the chopper chicks arrive to rescue them in a hearse. Even though the girls are doing some good deeds, the locals don’t seem to like them too much and repeatedly attempt to run them out of town. That is until the town is overrun by blood thirsty zombies! But wait – the town folk refuse to help the girls fight the zombies because “they are all family.’’ Hordes of zombies begin eating their relatives as the girls fight them off. The dwarf decides to turn against the mortician, and tells the girls that the only way to kill the zombies is to “cut their heads off.” The chopper chicks use baseball bats, chainsaws, and other devices to do away with many of them, but just when they think they have won, dozens more arrive. The girls devise a plan to lure all the remaining zombies into the church using raw meat as bait. They load the meat truck with dynamite, and crash it into the church. The timer on the dynamite goes off and the church goes Out of all the ‘biker exploitation’ movies I have reviewed, this up in flames burning up most of the remaining zombies. one may be the funniest! The 1991 film features Billy Bob Thornton, In the final scenes the Cycle Sluts are rewarded with a sack MTV VeeJay Martha Quinn, and a few other B movie celebs. This full of cash and induct the dwarf and several of the blind orphans movie has it all – hot chicks, lesbians, motorcycles, midgets and a as honorary members of their gang. They then ride out of town with troop of blind orphans - who wouldn’t love it? First off I must tell you some of the men folk (their new ‘bitches’) on the back of their bikes the Chopper Chicks don’t actually ride “Choppers” but they do ride Sportsters, all equipped with engine guards and various custom paint and toss wads of money into the wind as they roll down the road to a jobs. The girls in the film are members of an all female motorcycle new destination and adventure. This review could not possibly expose you to all the hilarious gang called the “Cycle Sluts” which in itself is funny. They do have the usual trappings of women traveling in groups, such as being on action that this film provides. It is sometimes so ridiculous that you would find yourself rolled up in a knot from uncontrollable laughter. the rag, and searching for meat. It takes shots at old films, TV and life in general, but it never leaves Anyway, the film begins when the Cycle Sluts cruise into the you bored. I admit that I have a sick sense of humor, but for some small town of Zariah looking for a good time. In Zariah, an evil scientist turned mortician has been killing local townspeople with the unknown reason, I actually liked this film! (I usually don’t) Try this one help of dwarf that he continually abuses. After turning the folks into out. It’s available on DVD from Troma Films, www.troma.com or at zombies, he uses them as labor at an abandoned mine. The mine your local ‘strange DVD dealership.’ I have to give this one 4 out of 4 is too radioactive after underground nuclear testing to be mined by stars just because it’s super-funny. … Till next month. ... living people. Christian Motorcyclists Association Renew Your Strength Riding weather is upon us, and this is a great time of year to rack up some miles in the wind! There is just nothing in the world quite like mounting up on your favorite bike, kicking it into gear and giving the throttle a healthy twist as your roar off down the road. I enjoy having a heavy bike; it gives me a comfortable riding experience, plenty of room for luggage when needed, and of course, my wife on the back. When the wheels begin to turn and the wind begins to blow through my hair, I sometimes feel a little invincible! I feel the power of the motor and claim it, in my mind, as “my” power. Those 103 cubic inches set me free from the issues of life, be they work, financial, or relationship oriented. I feel like a star track runner, able to almost fly as I go my way. Add a few twisty roads, some beautiful forestry on a cool sunny day, and you simply leave the cares and concerns of life behind – they seem insignificant in the bigger scope of things. One of my favorite Bible verses (Isaiah 40:31) reminds me that “Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up BTR 56 | BORNTORIDE.COM

with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, walk and not faint.” When I think of that verse I can’t help but think about riding my bike, the joy and power it gives me, as well as the feeling of energy. God, in His infinite grace and mercy, gives us strength to do that which He has planned out for our lives. We may feel overwhelmed by the challenges before us, but even in the midst of that which is before us He is with us!! Just like we can mount up on our bikes and get in the wind, so can we mount up under God’s power and direction when He has called us to an exciting field of opportunity. When we are running the race through God’s strength, we are told that we can run and not be weary, God holds us up for the long haul. And haven’t you noticed that when you are out on a great ride you forget to feel tired? The aforementioned verse also leads me to remembering that all of that grace, all of that mercy, and all that power comes from the sacrifice Jesus make on the cross. If we trust in Him, give our lives to Him, and serve Him with all of our hearts, Jesus will provide all the strength we need. After all, didn’t Jesus show that no matter what man threw at Him, He was able to withstand? Jesus paid it all so that we could have it all, freedom and victory! Next time you are ready to mount up, remember Jesus, He made it all possible. He gave it all so we could have it all! In The Wind, Denny Dingler
