More than 5,300 people showed up at NSTAR’s Walk for Children’s Hospital Boston—each with a different story to tell. Grateful grandmas. Courageous kids. Celebrity supporters. You told us you were walking out of gratitude. To give back. To teach your children the importance of helping others. Read just a few of our walkers’ stories here in our online album. And help us keep the conversation going—share your own walk photos and stories at childrenshospital.org/walk.

Children’s CEO Jim Mandell, MD, with his granddaughter, Abigail, and NSTAR Chairman, President and CEO Tom May. NSTAR’s generosity helps make the walk possible. Other supporters include the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, Marriott Boston Hotels, Pepsi, Roche Bros., Waste Management and WCVB Channel 5.

More than 200 volunteers kept the walk running smoothly: preparing more than 5,200 hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers, handing out more than 2,000 bags of chips, and staffing five comfort stations.

Anchor Heather Unruh of WCVB Channel 5 served as our event emcee.

Why did you walk? You and other walkers could share your story at our t-shirt Creation Station.

Actress Anna Faris has fun with a young walker at a bubble making pool. Faris is in Boston filming “What’s Your Number?”

This year, you and others had honor flags created to recognize a special doctor or nurse, or honor a brave patient. More than 175 honor flags were displayed.

Ari Graynor, Anna Faris and Chris Evans, took a break from filming “What’s Your Number?” to walk for Children’s.

Kaleb and Tristan Teixera of Chelsea, MA, are all smiles. Together, we all made the walk a success, raising more than $1.4 million to date on our $1.6 million goal. There’s still time to round up your pledges!
