02 FLOATING SCHOOL

02 FLOATING SCHOOL THE PROJECT HAS A WIDE GROUND FLOOR SPACE AND SERVES AS A MIDDLE SCHOOL BUILDING, IT BRINGS PLANTS FROM THE PARK INTO THE SCHOOL. THIS PROJECT IS LOCATED IN A LOW SEA LEVEL AREA OF NEW YORK, THE GROUND FLOOR IS AVOIDING THE FLOODING CRISIS. ALSO THE SCHOOL CAN BE BUILT WITH LESS IMPACT ON THE RESIDENTS OF THE AREA. THIS SCHOOL WAS MADE TO BLEND INTO THE ENVIRONMENT. IT ALSO PROVIDES A BETTER NATURAL ENVIRONMENT FOR THE STUDENTS.

03 ARTIST HOUSE THE PROJECT WAS DESIGNED AS A RESIDENCE FOR THE ARTIST OLAFUR ELIASSON, AFTER STUDYING HIS DESIGN PHILOSOPHY AND RECONSIDERING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ARCHITECTURE AND THE ENVIRONMENT, THE BUILDING FACADE WAS PARTIALLY MODIFIED UNDER RESTRICTED CONDITIONS. COMBINING THE CONCERN OF OLAFUR ELIASSON’S WORK WITH LIGHT AND THE EARTH’S ENVIRONMENT, I TRIED TO MAKE THE ADDITION GROW WITHIN THE ORIGINAL BUILDING, FROM THE GROUND TO THE ROOF, SO THAT VISITORS WHO COME HERE CAN PERCEIVE OLAFUR ELIASSON’S WORK, NOT ONLY IN HIS WORK, BUT ALSO IN THIS SPACE.

05 JOY CITY XIDAN, CHAT GARDEN, COFCO BEIJING INTERIOR DESIGN 2016 COMMERCIAL DESIGN TEAM: ERIC YANG, KUN CHENG, BOWEN TANG, XIAO LIU THIS COMMERCIAL DESIGN PROJECT IS A RENOVATION OF XIDAN MALL. THE PURPOSE OF THE RENOVATION WAS TO ENERGIZE THE MALL TO MATCH THE NEW YOUNG CLIENTELE. THIS ALTERNATION OF NEEDS BRINGS THE CONSUMER ATMOSPHERE INTO A "NEW ERA" WHERE THE PREVIOUS ORDER IS REPLACED AND NEW RULES ARE ESTABLISHED. METAPHORICALLY SPEAKING, WE SET THE TIME FRAME AS A "NEW EPOCH" WHERE PEOPLE CAN GATHER NOT ONLY TO TRADE BUT ALSO TO EXCHANGE MATERIALS, INFORMATION AND INSPIRATION. IN THIS PROJECT I WAS INVOLVED IN THE WHOLE PROCESS FROM THE CONCEPTUAL PHASE TO THE COMMUNICATION ON THE CONSTRUCTION SITE.

EITHER SMALL VILLAGE OR METROPOLITAN, MARKET IS ONE OF THE REPRESENTATIONS FOR PROSPERITY AND VIVID COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES. HOWEVER, NOWADAYS, IT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED WITH SOME SPECIAL CHARACTERS SUCH AS EXCHANGING INFORMATION, RECREATIONS, AND INSPIRATIONS. HERE, WE WILL REFER TO THESE NEW CHARACTERS AS THE “MODERNIZED FACTORS” OF MARKET. WHEN MARKET WAS FIRST CREATED IN HUMAN HISTORY, IT ALSO INITIATED THE HISTORY OF TRADING AND COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES. IT BROUGHT ECONOMIC PROSPERITY. IN THIS “NEW EPOCH,” WHERE THE YOUNGER GENERATION IS THE MAJOR “CONSTITUENT,” THE “MODERNIZED FACTORS” OF MARKET APPEAR MORE ATTRACTIVE THAN USUAL. THIS RENOVATED MARKET WAS INITIALLY MOTIVATED BY A CONCEPTUAL IDEA CALLED THE “NEW EPOCH WIKI.” IT WAS DEFINED TO BE A USER-EDITABLE KNOWLEDGE REPOSITORY FOR THOSE TOPICS THAT RELATE TO THE “NEW EPOCH” GENRE. ANY TOPIC THAT CARRIES AS A “NEW EPOCH” FEATURE IS WELCOME TO BE HERE, SUCH AS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, HIGH-TECHNOLOGICAL DESIGN, OR LGBTQA ACTIVITIES.

06 FOODHALL, CRC NINGBO INTERIOR DESIGN 2017 COMMERCIAL DESIGN TEAM: ERIC YANG, KUN CHENG, BOWEN TANG, XIAO LIU, XING JIN ACCORDING TO THE CUSTOM OF LOCAL PEOPLE IN NINGBO, IT IS ALMOST CONVENTIONAL TO FOLLOW THE SOLAR TERMS TO PURSUE THE FRESHNESS OF THE INGREDIENTS. HENCE, KEEPING A HEALTHY DIET APPEARS AS A SIGNIFICANT FACTOR IN THE LOCAL CULTURE. TO WELL-ADAPT AND MANIFEST THIS CULTURAL FEATURE THROUGH THE DESIGN, A GREEN PLANT CYCLE ECOSYSTEM HAS EMERGED WITH THE COMMERCIAL SPACE. CONSUMERS WILL BE SURROUNDED BY THE FRESHEST GREEN VEGETABLES AND EXPERIENCE THE LOCAL CULTURE OF A HEALTHY DIET IN THE COMMERCIAL SPACE. IN THIS PROJECT I WAS INVOLVED IN THE CONCEPTUAL PHASE AND THE CONSTRUCTION DRAWING AND REVISION PHASE.
