ROBERT S. HISEY JR. Bellbrook, Ohio Tecumseh Council Springfield, Ohio
Of the 10 Cub Scouts who transitioned from Bob Hisey’s den into Boy Scouting, eight of them attained Eagle rank and are living successful lives. For Bob, who sees Scouting as “a way of life,” their accomplishments are his most meaningful achievement in Scouting. “I do not remember a time when I was not a Scout,” he says. “The leadership opportunities afforded me in the military and as a government civilian have all been positively influenced by the foundation I received from the Scout Oath and Law.” Bob, a senior data analyst with the U.S. Air Force and an Eagle Scout with 32 years’ experience as an adult leader, has served on the national Community Relations Subcommittee, as chair of the Central Region’s training committee, and as Area 6 commissioner and advancement chair. He has served on three council Wood Badge staffs, as a lodge Advisor for the Order of the Arrow, as an assistant council commissioner for Venturing, and as the council’s chief instructor for Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) training for Cub Scout leaders. A member of the National Lutheran Association on Scouting, he has also served as district commissioner, unit commissioner, merit badge counselor, Cubmaster, Sea Scout Skipper, den leader, assistant Scoutmaster, Venturing committee chair, and pack committee chair. Bob, an Air Force Association life member, is involved with his Masonic lodge and American Legion chapter, and he has served local youth as an NCAA-certified Amateur Athletic Union basketball coach, tae kwon do instructor, and girls softball coach. Bob and his wife, Elizabeth, attend Peace Lutheran Church, where he is a substitute Bible School instructor. They live in Bellbrook and have three children—Steven, Kristin, and Robbie—and six grandchildren: Abby, Joshua, Hanna, Zoe, Reilly, and Connor.

JASON M. KASIOREK Caledonia, Michigan President Ford Field Service Council Grand Rapids, Michigan
Rather than pointing to a particular achievement as the most significant of his 31 years as an adult leader, Jason say he is “happy to have been in the right place at the right time” to have found great opportunities to serve. An Eagle Scout, Jason has received the Silver Beaver Award, the Founder’s Award, the Honored Eagle Scout Award, and his fourth bead as a Wood Badge Course Director. A Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, he received the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for volunteer service from President Obama in 2014. Jason has served nationally on the National Aquatics Task Force, and as a National Camping School aquatics faculty member, assessment chair on the region and area levels for the National Camping Accreditation Program, Boy Scout Camping Committee chair, chair of the Camping Strategic Planning Committee, and Properties Strategic Task Force member. JOHN T. PAPROCKI Wausau, Wisconsin Samoset Council Weston, Wisconsin
In John’s 38 years as an adult leader, he guided more than 50 Scouts in their Life to Eagle Scout projects. It’s his way, John says, of “paying back” the adults who guided him in Scouting as a youth. About one third of those years have been devoted to Sea Scouting. Most recently, John served as the Central Region Commodore of the National Sea Scout Service Committee. John considers the redefining and staffing of the Central Region Sea Scout Service Committee as his proudest moment in Scouting. Additionally, he has served the Central Region as vice commodore of training, vice commodore of service, Seabadge course director, and Sea Scout Skipper. John has also been recognized with the Raymond A. Finley Jr. Sea Scout Service Award by the United States Power Squadrons, for which he has served as a Squadron Commander, a certified boating instructor, and vessel safety examiner. John has received the Silver Beaver Award, the Wood Badge, the William T. Hornaday Gold Badge, the Doctorate of Commissioner Science Award, and the St. George Emblem from the National Catholic Committee on Scouting. He is an Eagle Scout, a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, and a Leave No Trace Master Educator. John has served as the Samoset Council’s Venturing Committee chair, board member, vice president of membership, advancement committee member, outdoor ethics advocate, and assistant commissioner. He served as a Rib Mountain District commissioner, Venturing Advisor, and an assistant Scoutmaster. JOSEPH A. SHORE Elkhart, Indiana LaSalle Council South Bend, Indiana
Some of the most rewarding moments in Joe’s 52 years in Scouting have come when adults he guided as youth returned as Scouting leaders, many with their own children, and approached and thanked him for helping them at some time. The National Order of the Arrow Conference training evaluation method, developed by Joe in 1996 and still in use today, is the achievement he is most proud of in his Scouting career. A Life Scout, Joe has received the 50-Year Veteran Award, the Order of the Arrow Distinguished Service Award, and the Silver Beaver Award (from the Southeast Wisconsin Council). Joe has also received two District Awards of Merit, one from the LaSalle Council and one from the Southeast Wisconsin Council, and he is a member of the Goodman Society, a Legacy Fellow, and a James E. West Fellow. He has served nationally on the Boy Scout Leader Training Task Force, on training, technology, and development subcommittees, and on Order of the Arrow conferences and events staffs. In his council, Joe has served on the council board and advisory board, as an Order of the Arrow lodge adviser and lodge chief, and he has chaired committees on advancement, training, NCAP, enterprise risk management, technology, and Exploring. Joe has also served as an assistant district commissioner, district committee member, and assistant Scoutmaster. Joe is manager of networks and infrastructure for Conn-Selmer Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of musical instruments. MICHAEL F. WEBER Grand Blanc, Michigan Michigan Crossroads Council Lansing, Michigan
Most important to Mike Weber in his 34 years as an adult Scouter has been witnessing the emergence of young Scouts, including 14 that he guided on the path to earning Eagle rank while serving as a Scoutmaster. They became confident young men who continue to serve society. Mike says he couldn’t have done it without the support of Amy, his wife of 42 years. Mike, an Eagle Scout with a Silver Palm, has received the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, the Silver Beaver Award, the District Award of Merit, the Distinguished Commissioner Award, a Doctorate of Commissioner Science, and the Outstanding Scoutmaster Award. He is a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. Retired from General Motors, where he was a global vehicle systems engineer, Mike has served nationally on the Polaris Committee and as a Central Region commissioner and jamboree staff member. He currently serves as a chartered organization representative and an NCAP team member, and he has been an area commissioner and subdean of continuing education for the College of Commissioner Science. He has served at the council level as president and Wood Badge course director, and in jamboree and Philmont Scout Ranch activities. He has served as district chair and as a Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, Exploring Advisor, and chartered organization representative. A member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Grand Blanc, Mike serves on the church’s finance committee and as a lay liturgist, and he has also served as a confirmation sponsor. A past board member of SAE International (formerly the International Society of Automotive Engineers), Mike enjoys traveling with Amy across the United States and abroad. He and Amy have three sons, all Eagle Scouts—Bradley, Kyle, and Kenny—and six grandchildren: McKenzie, Kaden, Adelaide, Max, Noah, and Hailey.
