ANDIYAH Launches Celebrity Basketball Tour to Support Military Families Washington, DC - (December 2, 2009) Tarek “Terk” Stevens announced that the Hollywood Hoops Festival Basketball Games will launch a tour to support men and women serving in the U.S. armed forces. For the last five years, Stevens has produced celebrity basketball games by enlisting some of Hollywood’s hottest stars to match their athletic prowess against local officials and community athletes. Hollywood Hoops vs. The Troops is a family friendly way to salute and celebrate the contributions of America’s men and women in uniform. A portion of the proceeds goes to support the Fisher House and other organizations that are dedicated to providing financial support to military families. “We hear about their sacrifices every single day on the news,” said Stevens, “The Hollywood Hoops vs. The Troops is a great morale booster as well as a fun and entertaining way to say thank you to those serving in the military.” The tour will feature games in six U.S. cities. Washington, DC, Atlanta, GA, Detroit, MI, Fayetteville, NC, Virginia Beach, VA, Chicago, IL.

Testimonials [The work of Good Ground Good Life/ANDIYAH] is not just the prevention of youth violence, but it’s also about lifestyle coaching for kids. And hopefully this will increase awareness. Morris Chestnut one of Hollywood’s hottest stars can be seen in the new ABC television series “V” and the hit films,The Game Plan, Like Mike, Not Easily Broken, Ladder 49, The Brothers, The Best Man, Firehouse, G.I. Jane and Boyz n the Hood, among many others.
I understand the importance of being a good role model for children...helping them realize their dreams that anything is possible. Erika Ringor scored big points in the hit movie Love and Basketball. She has recently appeared on episodes of Hawthorne, CSI: NY, Cold Case and Ghost Whisperer, Sons of Anarchy.
Keith Robinson of Dream Girls, supports Good Ground Good Life and the Hollywood Hoops because its all about “...giving opportunities to inner city kids...because I was one of these kids.”
"Support of our women and men in the military is essential to reinforcing their courage, motivation and good spirits. As a former 'military' brat myself, I know how much it means to get my Dad back after a tour of duty! God Bless all of our soldiers and the families that keep them strong!!!" Lamman Rucker from As the World Turns, Half & Half and All My Children made audiences swoon as Officer Troy in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married. He currently stars as Will in Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns TV Series.
