FROM THE OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES
Inside this issue, you will find information ranging from happenings in the Human Resources Department, to benefit and wellness opportunities, to community updates and events both internal and external.
Remember to mark your calendars for March 3, 2023, as we will be celebrating Employee Appreciation Day with a community-wide luncheon. Expect great music, fun games, and a build-your-own ice cream sundae bar!
We will also be welcoming all new employees hired within the last quarter and awarding our first-ever Golden Compass Award to one of your colleagues for actively incorporating our Core Values into their work. See Page 4 for more details.
Important Update: As various departments within the University have been brainstorming the best practices to engage employees, what was formally known as the President’s Newsletter, has evolved into the Community eNewsletter. Be on the lookout for monthly publications for any and all updates that fall beyond the realm of HR.
Thank you for your attention and, as always, happy reading!

INCLEMENT WEATHER
IMPORTANT UPDATES NEW ACADEMIC DOMAINS
Inclement weather is upon us and so are the risks of injuries due to snow and ice. Appropriate footwear is critical during unpredictable weather.
Wear footwear that provides good traction and insulation: Non-slip rubber typically makes the best soles for snow and ice. Soles with larger treads offer plenty of grip. They'll help you avoid slipping when you ' re walking in wintry conditions, as well as keeping your feet waterproof. Remember to keep your hands free and to look ahead in the direction you are walking to avoid slipping and falling.
We want to sincerely thank the members of our facilities team for a great job shoveling and ensuring walkways and roads are clean and safe for us to use. But remember, we all have to do our part.
SIGN UP TO RECEIVE EMERGENCY INFORMATION!
Make sure you are signed up for the Omnialert Campus Campus Alert System!
Omnilert is the most effective way of communicating emergency information to the entire campus population. With Omnilert, students, faculty and staff are notified of weather delays or cancellations, emergencies, and safety alerts through text messages on their cellular phones. The alert system is convenient, easy to use, effective and free. The Department of Public Safety strongly encourages all students, faculty and staff to register.

Over the last several months, academic leaders have been collaborating to restructure the Bay Path University organizational chart to align with our transition to the three new schools: The School of Education, Psychology, and Humanities, The School of Management and Technology, and The School of Health Sciences.
We strongly believe that this transformation will prove to enhance the work of BPU faculty, staff, and of course, support our students. Check out the new academic domains by accessing the organizational chart linked below.
ORGANIZATIONAL CHART UPDATE
As promised, the Human Resources Department will continue to update the University's organizational chart on a quarterly basis. Please see the latest version of the organizational chart at the link here, as well as on the Bay Path University portal.

CORE VALUE OF THE MONTH
WE ARE COMMITTED TO EQUITY
We share honest acknowledgement that pervasive, enduring, and corrosive, structural inequities have caused BIPOC communities to suffer. Too, we recognize the uncomfortable and incontrovertible truth that ours is a world of imbalanced access to opportunities and resources. We are committed to leveling the playing field for those who are disproportionately impacted by unfair systems and pledge to create a community where all members participate justly, fairly, and fully.
For the month of March, we are putting a special emphasis on the Core Value "We Are Committed to Equity." To learn about the differences between equity and equality, CLICK HERE to watch an informative video! Below you will find examples provided from the Community Week session and from other community conversations of how your colleagues are intentionally incorporating the Core Values into their work.
Here are the ways YOU are committing to this Core Value in your work:
Consider how and if our BPU community is reflected within our Board of Trustees, Executive Staff, and departments
Meet students where they are at and cater modalities of communication accordingly for best customer service
Evaluate admissions policies to be more inclusive and prepare ourselves to support the needs of all students
Promote and expand understanding and use of data of equitable/inequitable learning outcomes through assessment processes
Uphold appointment commitments for all students
Be mindful of accessibility
Refrain from being judgmental and/or assumptive
Maintain an even playing field
Take down barriers and have open messages
Practice the golden rule: treat others the way I desire to be treated
