There is no need to worry – we have lots of support available and plenty of friendly faces to help guide you through the range of services available. Depending on your age or situation, there may be some costs involved when you choose to come to College. The good news is help may be available.
Students aged 19-23 •• If you are aged 19-23 and studying for your first full Level 2 or Level 3 course, you will be entitled to fee remission (Does not apply to ESOL). •• If you are aged 19-23 and studying a subsequent Level 2 or Level 3 course, you will be required to pay the course fees or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan (see page 19).
Learner support fund The Learner Support Fund offers financial help to a wide range of students. Your age, household income and the course you are studying will determine what financial help you may be eligible to receive. The help that is available includes assistance with travel, materials and equipment, childcare and, in some circumstances, tuition and exam fees.

Students Aged 19+ Advanced Learner Loan
Learn Now - Pay Later
You’ll be able to apply online or by post to Student Finance England. To complete the application, you will need a ‘Course Offer Letter’ from the College. Please note:
If you’re aged 19 or over and you are thinking about Further Education at Level 3 or above you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan. The Advanced Learner Loan is a government-funded loan that is easy to apply for, doesn’t take your household income into account and doesn’t involve a credit check. The loan is for the full duration of your course and covers your tuition fees either all or part of the fee. The amount of loan you get will depend on the type of course you are studying and how much the fees are. The minimum loan is £300.
On receipt of your loan confirmation please sign it and return it to Student Finance England. Without the signed confirmation your loan will not be activated and the loans company will cancel your application and you would be liable for full fees.
Students aged 24+ •• If you are aged 24+, studying for a Level 2 course and in receipt of one of the benefits listed below, you will be eligible for fee remission:
To qualify for the Advanced Learner Loan you must be:

Any outstanding balance is automatically written off 30 years from your last payment.
Housing Benefit Low Wage Earners (income less than £15,736.50 annual)
Please note: Evidence of eligibility for fee remission is required. Please see website for details.
