Fees and Finance Information
Fees Policy 2020-2021 These fees apply to all courses in this guide apart from our Higher Education courses. For Higher Education fees see details in the next column.
bradfordcollege.ac.uk
All students will be expected to make arrangements to pay their fees at the time of enrolment. The college accepts payments by cash, cheque and all major debit and credit cards as well as instalment payments by direct debit.
•• A student is required to pay all outstanding tuition fees relating to previous academic years prior to enrolment. Enrolment on a course will be refused where there are fees outstanding from a previous academic year. •• All courses £150 or under must be paid in full. •• Instalment payments are allowed on courses with a minimum value over £150. If you wish to pay by instalment you must make the first payment at the time of enrolling on your course. Your initial payment will be 15% or a minimum of £50 (whichever is higher) with the rest of the fee payable over a maximum of 4 further direct debit payments. •• Any initial payment is non-refundable. Your payment plan must be agreed at enrolment and all payments must be made between September and July prior to you finishing your course for that academic year (even if you are returning in future years). •• Students aged 24 years and over on the start date of the course who are studying FE Level 3 and above will be required to take out an Advanced Learning Loan or self-fund the course at the same rate. These students will also be asked to complete a direct debit form to ensure instalment payments can be taken if the Loan is not approved.
Higher Education Loans and Support If you are choosing to study a Higher Education course part-time, you may be eligible for loans to cover tuitions fees and assist with living expenses. However, please ensure that you have made your application and secured funding for your programme prior to registration. The Student Finance England application system will be open from summer 2020 for part-time students. To be eligible for the maintenance loan to support with living expenses, the course needs to be a BA, BSc or an ITT (above degree level) course. Please visit www. gov.uk/student-finance for further information and to apply.
Higher Education Fees If you choose not to apply for student finance, or your Higher Education course isn’t eligible for finance, you can self-fund the course by setting up a direct debit or have your employer pay your fees by providing a sponsor letter at enrolment. All undergraduate part-time courses are currently charged at £875 per 20 credits – apart from our HNC/HND courses which are charged at £600 per 15 credits. Course fees, therefore, vary depending on the course you’re studying and the qualification that you’ll receive. Part-time postgraduate courses are charged at £1920 per 60 credits. These fees are correct as of March 2020. Please contact the HE Student Finance team for further information on hestudentfinance@ bradfordcollege.ac.uk or call on 01274 088502/07274 088642.
•• If your employer is paying for the course, you must upload at enrolment an original letter from your employer, on company letter-headed paper, which states this (copies, handwritten letters and emails cannot be accepted). Unless you upload this letter you will be asked to pay fees at enrolment. Any sponsor fees must be paid within 30 days of the invoice. If payment remains outstanding, you (not your employer) will be automatically liable for the fees. •• A number of fee concessions are available for students aged 19 and over - see page 10 for details. •• Eligibility/funding for non UK / EU / EEA citizens depends on individual circumstances. Please contact us on 01274 088 088 for more details.

The Adult Learning Centre The Adult Learning Centre (ALC) is a small community hub with a personal touch where students are treated as individuals. The ALC provides students with the opportunity to study in small groups, with very friendly staff who work at a pace that suits them. The ALC is at the heart of the city (Centenary Square in City Park) so it is easy to access and our students often tell us they feel safe and able to reach their full potential.
