30 Crosslake businesses to simmer

soups for tasting Feb. 1

CROSSLAKE — Crosslake Chamber

member businesses will simmer kettles of soup for the public to taste and vote on to determine which earn this year’s SoupFest Golden Ladles.

Tasting will begin at noon Saturday, Feb. 1, and ballots will be tallied at 3 p.m. that day.

Vote for your favorites on your mobile phone using the free Crosslake App. SoupFest winners will be announced at 5 p.m. Feb. 1.

CROSSLAKE — Celebrate winter both inside and outside at Crosslake’s 23rd annual WinterFest event Thursday-Saturday, Jan. 30-Feb. 1 with the Hunt for the Lost Medallion, games, music, fireworks, SoupFest and more throughout town. Following is a schedule of events (all events listed are subject to change):

THURSDAY, JAN. 30

■ 9 a.m.: Find the Lost Medallion. The first of three daily clues will be released at local merchants, on the Crosslake App and on the chamber’s website at crosslake. com. Find the Lost Medallion and cash in on a prize package courtesy of chamber member businesses.

■ 6-8 p.m.: Loons & Lakes Trivia at 14 Lakes Craft Brewing hosted by Shannon Watters of Watters Edge Realty, the Whitefish Area Property Owners Association and the National Loon Center. Play trivia for free. Bring lead tackle for points toward prizes.

■ 8 p.m.: Trivia at Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant & Bar.

FRIDAY, JAN. 31

■ 9 a.m.: Find the Lost Medallion. The second clue will be released.

■ 3:30-5:30 p.m.: Cabin Fever 202526 enrollment kickoff at Crosslake Community School. This free event will include games, activities, snacks and prize drawings.

■ 5:30-6:30 p.m.: Meat raffle at the Crosslake Fifty Lakes American Legion.

■ 6 p.m.: Live music featuring Mike Derus at Manhattan’s.

■ 6-9 p.m.: Live music featuring From The Heart at 14 Lakes Craft Brewing.

■ 6:30-8:30 p.m.: Celebrate WinterFest at the Crosslake Community Center with outdoor family fun, including fireworks at 8:30 p.m. The warming house will be open and there will be chili, hot cocoa, s’mores, bonfires and DJ music, as well as games and prizes courtesy of Dahlheimer Beverage.

■ 8:30 p.m.: Fireworks at the Crosslake Community Center.

■ 10 p.m.-close: Dance with DJs JP & Dana at Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant & Bar.

SATURDAY, FEB. 1

■ 9 a.m.: Find the Lost Medallion. The third and final clue will be released.

■ 10 a.m.-2 p.m.: Open house and tours at the Northern MN Railroad Trackers.

■ 10 a.m.-3 p.m.: WinterFest Craft & Vendor Show at The Gathering Event Center.

■ 11 a.m.: Bingo at Manhattan’s. Register by 10:45 a.m.

■ 11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Kids WinterFest tote decorating at Moonlite Bay.

■ 11 a.m.-3 p.m.: Spin the wheel to win prizes and discounts at Key Wellness.

■ 11 a.m.-2 p.m.: WinterFest Family Fun Zone at Crosslake Town Square with indoor and outdoor family activities, including ice bowling, snowman snowball shooters, winter crafts and more.

■ Noon: SoupFest. Soup samples will be served at participating businesses throughout Crosslake. Download the Crosslake App and vote for your favorite soup by 3 p.m.

■ Noon-2 p.m.: Italian Olympics at Maucieri’s Italian Bistro.

■ Noon-3 p.m.:

CROSSLAKE — Round up family and friends and get outside to search for the 2025 Winterfest Lost Medallion somewhere within the city limits of Crosslake. Somewhere lays, hangs, dangles or sits the Lost Medallion.One of three clues will be released daily at 9 a.m. starting Thursday, Jan. 30, until the medallion is found. To be notified when clues are released, download the Crosslake App. Clues also will be posted online at crosslake.com and on the Crosslake Chamber’s Facebook page at facebook. com/CrosslakeMN/. Whoever finds the medallion should present it immediately at Lake Country Crafts & Cones to cash in on a prize basket valued at thousands of dollars courtesy of par ticipating chamber member businesses.

Rules and tips

■ Do not trespass; the medallion will never be located on private residential property.

■ Don’t break, remove or disassemble anything.

■ Be friendly. Hundreds of families will hunt for the medallion with anticipation, frustration and excitement.

■ Have fun and help celebrate the winner.

Last year, Crosslake locals Tracy and Ann found the 2024 WinterFest Lost Medallion after the third clue at the Robert Street boat launch.
