According to a new poll, President Biden would defeat former president Trump in a hypothetical 2024 election rematch by eight points. Pretty bad, but not as defeated as I feel hearing about that poll. Can we not do this yet? It’s January. The only thing I want to hear less than a presidential poll is a Christmas carol.

In a series of posts yesterday on Truth Social, former president Trump pushed back against claims that he illegally stored classified files at Mar-a-Lago and accused federal agents of planting documents inside of empty folders he had taken. Oh, you are trying anything. That’s like telling the police, “Someone else put the cocaine there. I just collect tiny plastic baggies.”

“You” - Season 4, Part 1

The skin-crawling story that took the digital world by storm returns to Netflix with its fourth season Thursday, Feb. 9, when the first five episodes of “You” drop with a bloody bang. Keep an eye out for Part 2, set to drop in March. Based on “What would you do for love?”

Caroline Kepnes’ bestselling novel, the series so far has followed dangerously obsessive and brilliant book store manager Joe (Penn Badgley, “Gossip Girl”) as he becomes transfixed by women, doing everything in his power to become central to their lives before the story comes to a bloody conclusion. This season, however, is set to turn the story on its head, as Joe may have finally met his match. While adjusting to his new life as a professor, Joe tries to make amends with a woman he stalked from halfway around the world and avoids becoming the target of another killer. Meanwhile, he appears to have found a kindred spirit in Rhys (Ed Speleers, “Outlander”), one of his students, whom he calls a “good man in a cruel world” (per the show’s official Instagram). But fans will have to wait to see how exactly their relationship unfolds. Created for Netflix by Greg Berlanti (“The Flash”) and Sera Gamble (“Supernatural”), the new season also stars Tati Gabrielle (“The 100”), Charlotte Ritchie (“Ghosts”), Lukas Gage (“The White Lotus”), Adam James (“Vigil”), Sean Pertwee (“Gotham”), Tilly Keeper (“EastEnders”), Stephen Hagan (“Lucky Man”) and Amy-Leigh Hickman (“The Dumping Ground”).

“10 Days of a Good Man” (2023)

The first film of a planned trilogy based on the books by Mehmet Eroglu, the new Turkish crime drama “10 Days of a Good Man” premieres Friday, Feb. 10, on Netflix. The film tells the story of Sadik (Nejat Isler, “Winter Sleep,” 2014), a lawyer turned private investigator, as he takes on a missing person case, propelling him on an unexpected and life-altering quest. As Sadik goes from good to bad, and bad to indifferent, he tries to figure out what it really means to be a good person. Written for the screen by Eroglu and Damla Serim (“Cukur”), the film is directed by Uluc Bayraktar (“The Choice”).

Ilayda Akdogan (“My Brother, My Love,” 2018), Nur Fettahoglu (“Bozkir”), Ilayda Alisan (“Seversin”), Baris Falay (“Ezel”), Riza Kocaoglu (“Cukur”), Gozde Kaya (“Ramo”), Erdal Yildiz (“Halka”) and Yurdaer Okur (“The Protector”) also star.

“Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence”

The new three-part documentary miniseries “Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence” gets to the bottom of it all when it premieres Thursday, Feb. 9, on Hulu. In 2010, at Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, New York, con man and former CIA agent Larry Ray used overt mind control, abuse and psychological torture to exercise and maintain his control and influence over the group of young people who became entangled in his sex cult. This new series provides unprecedented access to the case, featuring first-hand interviews with Larry Ray’s survivors, as well as personal audio tapes and video recordings that weave together the grim story of his cult, from its origins to its recent demise. With Ray convicted of sex trafficking, extortion, conspiracy and other charges in 2019, the last members and survivors find their own ways forward.

Directed by Zach Heinzerling (“McCartney 3, 2, 1”), “Stolen Youth” is executive produced by Heinzerling, Jon Bardin (“Fauci,” 2021), Dan Cogan (“The Invitation,” 2015) and Liz Garbus (“What Happened, Miss Simone?” 2015).

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry (2022)

Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Gabrielle Zevin, the 2022 dramedy film “The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry” makes its Hulu debut Friday, Feb. 10. A.J. Fikry’s (Kunal Nayyar, “The Big Bang Theory”) life is not going the way he wanted it to or expected it to. After the tragic death of his wife, and with his bookstore failing, finding out that his prized rare edition of Poe poems has been stolen is just the cherry on top of his trip to emotional and financial rock bottom. But, when a mysterious package appears at the bookstore, the unexpected arrival gives Fikry a second chance, a new lease on life and a love greater than he could have ever imagined. Directed by Hans Canosa (“Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac,” 2010) with a screenplay by Zevin, the film also stars Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men”), Lucy Hale (“Ragdoll”), Scott Foley (“Scandal”), David Arquette (“Never Been Kissed,” 1999) and Lauren Stamile (“Burn Notice”).

“Marvel Studios’ Assembled: The Making of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”

“Marvel Studios’ Assembled” returns to Disney+ with an all-new episode, “The Making of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which premieres on the Disney streamer Wednesday, Feb. 8. The comprehensive and immersive documentary series has already launched episodes on the making of “Black Widow” (2021), “WandaVision,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” (2021), “Eternals” (2021), “Hawkeye” and more. This newest installment focuses on the backstory, special effects, casting and overall development of the recent (and much lauded) “Black Panther” (2018) sequel, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” (2022). The film is so beloved, in fact, that it’s earned the Marvel Cinematic Universe its first ever Oscar nod: it was recently announced that Angela Bassett earned a nomination at this year’s Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Queen Ramonda. The sequel (which is available to stream on Disney+ now) follows the the story of the citizens of Wakanda as they move forward after the tragic death of King T’Challa (played in the original film by the late Chadwick Boseman). As T’Challa’s friends and family — including his mother, Queen Romonda (Bassett), and his sister Shuri (Letitia Wright, “Death on the Nile,” 2022) — look towards the future, they face an unprecedented threat when an outsider’s search for vibranium unleashes a force like nothing the world has ever seen. Through intimate behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, viewers experience the hard work and dedication of the cast and crew as they take on the incredible challenge of creating a story worthy of T’Challa, with a chapter befitting the late king. Written by Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole, the team behind the original, smash-hit “Black Panther” (2018) film, “Wakanda Forever” is also directed by Coogler.

“Clarkson’s Farm” - Season 2

British journalist and TV personality Jeremy Clarkson (famous for “Top Gear” and Amazon’s “The Grand Tour”) pulls his boots back on and gets down and dirty in the second season of the Amazon reality series “Clarkson’s Farm,” premiering Friday, Feb. 10, on Prime Video. The first season saw Clarkson, who is definitely not a farmer, take on a new venture when he buys and learns how to tend to a British farm, following him through his first year in an informative, intense, backbreaking and sometimes heartbreaking journey, as he grappled with the worst farming weather in decades, disobedient animals, unresponsive crops and an unexpected pandemic. Heading into its second season, “Clarkson’s Farm” catches up with the hapless new farmer as he introduces some new crops and animals, tries to diversify his operation with a restaurant, and relies heavily on his farmhand, Kaleb, and a host of local experts to get them through the year. Directed by Will Yapp (“The Circus,” 2012), the series is executive produced by Clarkson, Peter Fincham (“The Chelsea Detective”) and Andy Wilman (“The Grand Tour”).

“Somebody I Used To Know” (2023)

“Community” and “GLOW” star Alison Brie teams up with husband Dave Franco (“The Afterparty”) in the new rom-com “Somebody I Used to Know,” premiering Friday, Feb. 10, on Prime. When workaholic TV producer Ally (Brie) faces a major professional setback, she runs back to her hometown to seek out some familiar comfort. When she spends a whirlwind evening reminiscing with her first love, Sean (Jay Ellis, “Top Gun: Maverick,” 2022), she starts questioning everything about the life she now leads and the person she’s become. To make things even more complicated, Sean is now married to Cassidy (Kiersey Clemons, “Dope,” 2015), whose creativity and confidence remind Ally of who she used to be. Written by Franco and Brie, who also act as executive producers on the film, “Somebody I Used to Know” is directed by Franco. Danny Pudi (“Community”), Olga Merediz (“In the Heights,” 2021), Haley Joel Osment (“The Sixth Sense,” 1999), Julie Hagerty (“Marriage Story,” 2019), Ayden Mayeri (“I Love That For You”), Amy Sedaris (“BoJack Horseman”), Sam Richardson (“Veep”) and Zoe Chao (“The Afterparty”) also star.
