“We Have a Ghost” (2023)

Take a trip through the funnier side of the paranormal world with the new adventure comedy film “We Have a Ghost” when it premieres on Netflix Friday, Feb. 24. After moving to a new town for a fresh start, teenager Kevin (Jahi Di’Allo Winston, “Queen & Slim,” 2019) is set on fitting in at school and making the best of his situation. But when Kevin discovers a ghost named Ernest (David Harbour, “Stranger Things”) haunting their home, he rockets his family to internet fame by starting up a YouTube channel starring their spooky new friend. While being inundated by a host of oddball characters looking for a chance to capitalize on the latest viral craze, they also find themselves a target for the CIA as they begin to investigate the mystery of Ernest’s past. Based on the short story “Ernest,” by Geoff Manaugh, “We Have a Ghost” is directed and written for the screen by Christopher Landon (“Freaky,” 2020). The film’s cast is rounded out by Anthony Mackie (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” 2014), Erica Ash (“Scary Movie V,” 2013), Niles Fitch (“This Is Us”), Jennifer Coolidge (“The White Lotus”), Tig Notaro (“Army of the Dead,” 2021), Tom Bower (“Die Hard 2,” 1990), Faith Ford (“Murphy Brown”) and Steve Coulter (“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”).

“Snowfall” - Season 6

The sixth and final season of the FX crime drama “Snowfall” premieres Thursday, Feb. 23, on Hulu. Over the course of the series’ previous five seasons, “Snowfall” has chronicled the story of how an off-the-books CIA operation contributed to the destruction that rock cocaine leveled upon the vibrant community of South Central L.A. in the 1980s. Now, Season 6 catches back up with the cast in October 1986, as civil war threatens to destroy the Saint family. A desperate Franklin (Damson Idris, “Megan Leavey,” 2017) is forced to rob his Aunt Louie (Angela Lewis, “Top Five,” 2014) and Uncle Jerome (Amin Joseph, “To Live and Die and Live,” 2023) after being wiped out by former CIA officer Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson, “The Wilds”). Meanwhile, Louie has taken over Franklin’s role as Teddy’s sole buyer, undercutting her nephew and creating a competing empire in the process. As Franklin faces losing everyone he loves and everything he’s built for himself, he faces down the KGB, DEA, CIA and the corrupt, fully militarized LAPD C.R.A.S.H. units. “Voices Rising:

The Music of Wakanda Forever”

Take a peak behind the curtain into a legendary creative collaboration with the new special, “Voices Rising: The Music of Wakanda Forever,” when in premieres on Disney+ Wednesday, Feb. 22. The documentary follows composer Ludwig Göransson (who won an Oscar for his work on “Black Panther,” 2018) and Black Panther franchise director and writer Ryan Coogler as they collaborate with musicians and artists from across the globe to create the music for one of the most anticipated — and most successful — sequels in modern movie history. In “Voices Rising: The Music of Wakanda Forever,” Göransson and Ryan Coogler push the boundaries of what a Hollywood score and soundtrack can be, creating an immersive, moving experience in the process. With the music taking center stage, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” recorded the music for its films in Mexico, London, Lagos and Los Angeles, to “[collect] sounds from all over the world, and now we’re bringing it all together,” said Göransson. “All the music that we made... it doesn’t feel like the past. It feels like the future,” he continued. “The Music of Wakanda Forever” is directed by Meji Alabi (“Burna Boy Feat. Jorja Smith: Gum Body,” 2019) and Bernardo Ruiz (“Harvest Season,” 2018).
