BRAINERD TURKEY RUN CELEBRATES 10 YEARS The annual Brainerd Turkey Run, giving participants a chance to eat their fill knowing they already put in the workout, is 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Nov. 28, at the Brainerd National Guard Armory,
1115 Wright St. Packet Pickup starts 5-7 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Armory. It will reopen again on race morning from 7:30-8:45 a.m. Registration is also available at those times so bring
your family and friends who are still on the fence. The race will start at 9 a.m. Runners line up first and walkers behind them. This holiday tradition includes a 5K run and 1 mile walk to bene-
fit the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Organizers say the “Turkey Run is a great holiday tradition for individuals and families that focuses on having fun, giving back to the less fortunate and
enjoying a healthy way to start their holiday season.” Participants start at the Brainerd Armory, run through the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds and through parts of industrial Brainerd and fin-
ish back at the armory. Organizers report this is a great first time 5K course or a fast course for a seasoned runner. Go to http://www.brainerdturkeyrun.com for more information.

CHRISTMAS AT THE MANSIONS TOURS SET NOV. 29-DEC. 8 The annual Christmas at the Mansions holiday event will run daily from Friday, Nov. 29, through Sunday, Dec. 8, at Linden Hill in Little Falls. Both of the mansions - the Weyerhaeuser and Musser - were built in 1898 and will be decorated with a “Joy to the World” theme and open for self-guided tours. Between the two mansions there will be decorat-
ed rooms with volunteers in many of the rooms to help tell the story of the two lumber magnate families who once lived in these mansions, the Weyerhaeuser and Musser families. Of these two homes, the Weyerhaeuser mansion is open in the summer for guided tours and the Musser mansion is typically used as a conference/ event center and lodging, thus is closed to tours, so
it is a rare opportunity to view both mansions in the wintertime. Christmas at the Mansions tours will run from 1-7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 29-Dec. 8. Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for students ages 12-17, and free for children 11 and younger. Families and groups of all sizes and ages are welcome.
Both of the mansions - the Weyerhaeuser and Musser - built in 1898, will be decorated with a “Joy to the World” theme and open for self-guided tours this holiday season.
