The good news — area lakes appear to be free of ice or close to it. The bad news — there’s shortage of bait, so anglers will need to search to find what they want or change up their tactics. James Hope, employee at Sportland Bait & Tackle in Nisswa, said bait harvesters for the past couple of years have been getting fewer minnows than they used to and this winter that number decreased even further because of winter kill due to ice and snow on the bait trapping ponds. By Michael Johnson Agweek STAPLES, Minn. — It’s quite possible that many anglers will be skunked before they even hit the water for this weekend’s Minnesota fishing opener as live bait supplies are limited, according to bait producer and harvester, Barry Thoele, of Staples, Minnesota. Thoele blames record breaking winter kill as major factor hurting bait supplies this spring. But the demise of the bait industry has been coming for years as minnow populations continue to shrink in the wild and in conventional farming practices that require overwintering in outdoor ponds, he added. So now both Joe Biden and Mike Pence have been found to have material dating from the time that they were vice-president. This never used to happen. Previous veeps had methods to dispose of this kind of thing: Al Gore would immediately recycle documents and Dick Cheney,
of course, would shoot them in the face.
The U.S. has reached its $31.4 trillion debt ceiling. Now, normally Congress automatically raises the debt limit as needed, but House Republicans are refusing in order to “leverage the standoff to extract major spending cuts ... on social programs ... including Social Security
and Medicare.” That is an insane negotiating tactic. That’s pretty drastic. That’s like a husband saying, “Honey, we’re spending too much on entertainment so either we cancel one of our streaming services or I shove your grandpa into the river. Which is it: Netflix or P-Pop?”
With all of the problems in the world, Fox News remains laser focused on the big issue: M&M’s have gone woke. First of all, no they haven’t. Second, if any candy is woke, isn’t it the one that tells you to “Taste the rainbow?”
[In a] complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission, [George] Santos has been accused of “extensive lies about his campaign finances.” Well,
that’s so disappointing. I would expect more from the man who invented the automobile ... named it after his daughter Mercedes. According to the complaint, Santos claims “he loaned $705,000 to his own campaign, even though 2020 records indicate he only had $55,000 to his name.” Fair enough, but what about all of his other names?
A new study found that people who wake up with an alarm clock are more tired than people who wake up naturally. Another reason people who use an alarm clock are tired: they have jobs.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
The FBI searched President Biden’s beach house in Delaware for classified documents. First, they searched near Biden’s Corvette, now they’re searching his beach house. I’m starting to think Biden created this whole scandal as a humblebrag. “Why don’t you check by my infinity pool? Maybe there’s something behind the Picasso, I don’t know.”
Everyone’s still talking about all the classified documents that keep popping up, and now spokespeople are saying that, until the end of their terms, all classified documents were returned by
Obama, Bush and Clinton. In other words, we’re five minutes away from learning that they found documents at the homes of Obama, Bush and Clinton. Meanwhile, when asked if he had any classified documents, Dick Cheney put his heart into sleep mode.
Some news from
Washington: a bill was just introduced in Congress that would ban TikTok in the U.S. Good idea. Without TikTok, the only way China can spy on us is through our phones, fridges and smart toasters. Yeah, they want to ban TikTok. Gen Z is like, “You’ll have to pry it from our cold, dead tortillas.” I’m sure Biden is all over this. A week ago, he thought TikTok was a breath mint.
Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Netflix is cracking down on password sharing. Their plan is to limit password sharing only to family members who live in your household from now on, and this is going to be a huge blow to Nick Cannon. This could cost him millions of dollars.
I’m exhausted by all these investigations. If I was watching this on Netflix, this would be the part where I skipped to the end credits to the part where they explain that the bad guy is nine years into a 30-year prison sentence now.

From creator and executive producer Craig Gerber (“Sofia the First”), “Firebuds” is produced by Craig Simpson (“Elena of Avalor”) and Daphne Batistella (“Madagascar: A Little Wild”).
“Venom” (2018)
Another Marvel tale comes to the screen, this time with an anti-hero: the 2018 sci-fi action flick “Venom” is available to stream now on Disney+. When investigative journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy, “The Dark Knight Rises,” 2012) digs into the unethical and secret experiments being run in the secret lab of a major corporation, he ends up exposed to an alien organism that bonds with his body and speaks only to him. Calling itself Venom, the symbiotic creature helps Brock evade capture by both the company’s security forces and by police, as it prepares the Earth for an invasion by its villainous species. But Venom soon takes a liking to Earth and decides to protect it instead. From director Ruben Fleischer (“Zombieland,” 2009), “Venom” is written for the screen by Jeff Pinkner (“Alias”), Scott Rosenberg (“Con Air,” 1997) and Kelly Marcel (“Saving Mr. Banks,” 2013). Michelle Williams (“The Fabelmans,” 2022), Riz Ahmed (“The Sandman”), Scott Haze (“Old Henry,” 2021), Reid Scott (“Veep”), Jenny Slate (“I Want You Back,” 2022), Woody Harrelson (“White House Plumbers”), Peggy Lu (“Always Be My Maybe,” 2019), Malcom C Murray (“Gotham”), Sope Aluko (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” 2022) and Wayne Péré (“Your Honor”) round out the cast.
“Deadloch” - Season 1
Get on the case with the eight-part Australian dark comedy series, “Deadloch,” when it makes its Prime Video premiere Friday, June 2. From the hilarious minds of “The Katering Show” and “Get Krack!n’s” Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan, the series is set in the sleepy seaside hamlet of Deadloch, Tasmania. When a local man turns up dead on the beach and the town is left reeling, two detectives are thrown together to solve the case: fastidious local Senior Sgt. Dulcie Collins (Kate Box, “Rake”) and Senior Investigator Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami, “Super City”), a rough blow-in from Darwin. As the town gets ready for its annual arts, food and culture event — the Winter Feastival — the duo, along with their overeager junior constable, Abby (Nina Oyama, “Utopia”), put their differences aside as they work together to find the killer. Directed by Ben Chessell (“Offspring”), Beck Cole (“Black Comedy”) and Gracie Otto (“The Last Impresario,” 2013), “Deadloch” also stars Tom Ballard (“Fully Furnished”), Alicia Gardiner (“Offspring”), Susie Youssef (“Rosehaven”), Pamela Rabe (“Wentworth”), Kris McQuade (“Rosehaven”), Duncan Fellows (“The Letdown”), Harvey Zielinski (“Don’t Look Deeper”), Shaun Martindale (“The Tailings”), Katie Robertson (“Five Bedrooms”), Nick Simpson-Deeks (“The Circuit”), Mia Morrissey (“Home and Away”), Leonie Whyman (“New Gold Mountain”), Mick Davies (“Rosehaven”), Holly Austin (“Candy,” 2006), Kartanya Maynard (“The Messenger”) and Astrid Wells (“The Kettering Incident”).
“With Love” - Season 2
Season 2 of the romantic comedy-drama series
“With Love” premieres on Prime Video Friday, June 2. Centered on siblings Lily (Emeraude Toubia, “Shadowhunters”) and Jorge Diaz (Mark Indelicato, “Hacks”), the series follows their lives as they navigate big life changes and rely on their (equally big) family to help them through it all. The new season finds Lily focusing all of her energy on a journey of self-love after her whirlwind romance with Santiago (Rome Flynn, “How to Get Away With Murder”) by growing her business and looking for more independence. But with the potential for love knocking at her door, she’ll have to decide what’s best for her future. Meanwhile, Jorge struggles in his relationship with Henry (Vincent Rodriguez III, “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”), and meeting Henry’s parents has him questioning whether they’re truly compatible. Created and executive produced by Gloria Calderón Kellett (“One Day at a Time”) and coproduced by Kellett’s production company, GloNation and Amazon Studios.
