Summer 2022 is here and we at Brampton Library could not be more excited about welcoming you back to programming and events in all of our branches! After more than two years of lockdown, curbside service, and quick borrowing visits, the Library is thrilled to be hosting a summer full of in-person programming, including early literacy programs for the early years, STEM and reading programs for middleschoolers, fun games and creation for teens, and workshops and tech programs for all. Our makerspaces are open for drop-in hours as well as fun how-to sessions. For those of you who still prefer to engage online, we continue to offer our book clubs, trivia nights, and summer clubs, so there are many ways to take part. Where does rain go? When it rains in a natural area, around half of the water soaks into the ground. In urban areas, where there are more hard, paved surfaces, rain becomes stormwater runoff and collects in our storm sewers and waterways. Learn about the impacts of stormwater pollution, flooding, and erosion in a changing climate, and find out how to take action to protect drinking water, wildlife habitats, and more. As part of the program, we will be heading outside to do a litter cleanup and see where rain becomes stormwater runoff and collects in our community.
