Adult Summer Reading Club

Gardening for Birds, Butterflies and Beyond

Helping the environment starts in your own backyard. Learn how to attract and protect native pollinators, such as monarch butterflies and ruby-throated hummingbirds with beautiful landscape features. Participants will receive free gardening fact sheets, guides, and wildflower seeds. This program is in partnership with TRCA (Toronto and Region Conservation Authority). At Home Summer Trivia

Calling all trivia lovers! Join us online every other week for themed trivia nights that will put your knowledge to the test. This virtual program will take place via Zoom. Learn techniques for creating art using acrylic paint, watercolours, and/or soft chalk pastels, held at various library branches with one session at PAMA. These artist-led sessions will encourage creativity while building skills and confidence in an inclusive environment. The program aims to complement and inspire participation in the Adult Summer Reading Club's Then and Now Art Challenge. All materials will be provided. This program is in partnership with Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives (PAMA), as well as Visual Arts Brampton and the Arts, Culture, and Creative Industry Development Agency (ACCIDA). Then and Now Art Challenge

Participants of the Adult Summer Reading Club are invited to the “Then and Now art challenge!” Each week, you’ll be challenged to take an updated photo, draw a sketch, paint a picture, or artistically capture in your own way a historical Brampton location based on the picture we send you. Each photo submitted to src@bramlib.on.ca will earn you an extra ballot in the weekly prize draw, and the best art submission of the week will earn an extra ballot in a grand prize draw!
