Read, play, explore this summer with the Brampton Brain Game! Enjoy challenges that encourage children to read and continue to learn over the summer months, participate in STEM programs and discover all that our city has to offer. Kids 6-12 years old who register before July 8 will automatically be entered into the Early Bird Draw for a chance to win a bicycle, generously donated by the Region of Peel.

Teen Summer Reading Club 13-18 years

Complete online challenges, log the books you read and join our programs at the Library this summer. Save the date: our popular After Hours Book Bash returns on Friday, August 16, 2019.

About Our Programs All programs are free! Everyone is welcome to drop in, unless registration is required, as noted. Some programs require free tickets to be picked up 30 minutes before the program starts. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Have you written and published a book? We invite you to submit your work to the Local Authors Showcase. Submissions by Brampton Library members living in Peel Region will be considered until the July 31st deadline. Revealed to the community in September, books that form our 2019/20 showcase will be displayed at Chinguacousy Branch and included in our online library catalogue for a full year. 2. Got your library card? Brampton Library Community Galleries at Chinguacousy, Cyril Clark, Four Corners and Mount Pleasant Village branches provide free exhibit space for local artists. We look forward to receiving your application form and sharing your talent with the community. 3. Culture Days turns 10! As a designated Culture Days @ the Library partner, we proudly host a wide range of cultural activities by local participants in all of our branches at the end of September. Ready, Set, Read!

Come and be amazed as Magician Owen Anderson performs his captivating magic show! Free tickets will be available 30 minutes before the program starts. Space is limited.

Offered in partnership with Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, children in grades 1 – 3 and their parents/caregivers are invited to attend engaging read-aloud sessions with a focus on reading comprehension strategies. The program is held once a week for six weeks. Children will be provided with book lists tailored to their specific reading level.

Learn how to better manage stress, cope when feeling overwhelmed and focus on the present moment using simple mindfulness techniques. We will make some tools that you can take home to support your mindfulness practice.

Take your sewing project to the next level by adding custom embellishments made in the Makerspace! Over two sessions, you’ll sew a simple pouch or case and use our 3D printer and vinyl cutter to make buttons, zipper pulls, and heat transfer vinyl designs to decorate your project. Branch Spotlight Turtle Nesting Project: Putting Sustainability Learnings into Practice

Librarian Ben Smeets is inspiring connections between school and nature in the Makerspace. In partnership with TRCA and Louise Arbour Secondary School, Ben prints 3D models of turtles, a team of students paints the models and TRCA places them in safe nesting areas to attract real turtles, and prevent them from making their nests on the roadside! Sustainable and environmentally friendly, Brampton Library’s Springdale Branch is a LEED Gold building with a green roof, grey water system and geothermal heating and cooling. The building has won a Canadian Architecture award for design excellence. What will you make in our free Makerspace? Our helpful staff is standing by.
