The bulls received a high fiber, 16% protein ADM Amino Gain Creep fortified with a mineral package prior to weaning to help in the transition to feed during the weaning process. Post weaning: Darr Feed Yard does a professional job caring for and developing the bulls from October 1st until delivery time. The bulls have been fed a high roughage diet consisting of silage, ground forages and wet distiller’s grains, with a fortified Availa-4 Mineral/Vitamin package.

Welcome to the 2017 “Performance On The Platte” Charolais Bull Sale. We are very proud of this year’s offering and it is with great pleasure that we present this set of bulls to you. Cow-calf producers must utilize cross breeding in order to maximize the benefits of heterosis in their calf crops. We sell calves by the pound and Charolais sired calves on British based cows really hit the mark at weaning, yearling and at harvest time. Extra pounds will help add profitability to commercial cattle operations in these times when calf prices vs. expenses put us into margin operations. We go to great lengths to raise and care for bulls that can go out and help ranchers and feeders become more profitable. In this offering you will find many powerful purebred, registered Charolais bulls. There are a lot of half-brothers and even many ¾ brothers that are sired by HCR Patriarch 2502. Patriarch is doing a phenomenal job siring well balanced, medium framed, deep bodied, heavy muscled bulls that are sound structured and have easy going dispositions. Patriarch sired calves come easily and have averaged in the mid 80’s for birth weights. His calves perform well and meet the expectations of ranchers and feeders in today’s industry. We are also offering some high percentage “Char-X” hybrid bulls. These bulls are out of registered half-blood Charolais x Angus or Red Angus cows. These “Char-X” bulls are very impressive. They are big bodied and are packed with muscle. If you are new to buying Charolais genetics, these “Char-X” bulls may be the ticket for you. You will become a believer in heterosis when you see these impressive hybrids. Feel free to contact us about the bulls we have available. We look forward to your appraisal and hope you can join us on January 28th. We appreciate the opportunity to work with you and be your source for high quality Charolais genetics.

• Leading off the Char-X bulls is this stud! 6238 is a 75% Charolais, 25% Red Angus. Hybrids are not new to the industry. If you want muscle and power, you will love this red colored bull. This is why we believe in heterosis. He is out of a first calf heifer who did an excellent job.

• What an outstanding bull. 78 lb. BW to a 751 lb. AWW to ratio 106. He has a little color to him. His dam is a 50% Charolais and 25% Angus, 25% Hereford. This 3-way cross historically has been ideal in the industry. If you feed your own calves, he will do great things for a calf crop.

• 6311 is a standout Patriarch son out of one of our favorite young cows, 3211. She is a daughter of Y211, who is an AICA Dam of Distinction and a lead donor in our program. We really love our Solution daughters and 6311 is out of a good one. This bull has balanced EPDs. He exhibits powerful muscle shape, lots of volume, great length of body and a large scrotal circumference. His WW was 776 lbs. to ratio 106.

• The Rennert Ranch and Vision Cattle partnership has some really powerful cows in joint ownership. One of the very best is 2004, a daughter of the infamous Firewater. 2004 has produced some of our top end calves every year, including Commandant 6004. Her 2015 heifer calf, exhibited by Vaughn Stull, was highly competitive at every show they attended in Kansas. Commandant is sound structured, clean made, yet massive in his rib and muscle shape. HIs very credible pedigree combined with an 819 lb. WW (111 ratio) make this bull one to highly consider.

• Patriarch has completely proven himself as a very consistent sire of high quality offspring. He is a moderate framed bull whose calves out-perform the old man. He passes on traits like great feet and legs, attractive balance and eye appeal, good muscling, easy fleshing ability, nice udder conformation in his daughters, a gentle disposition, more than abundant rib shape and positive carcass characteristics. To date, the average birthweight on his progeny has been at 85 lbs. He is being used A.I. within multiple registered Charolais programs across Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Washington. Consistently, Patriarch calves make the keeper pen with both his daughters and sons. Needless to say he is balanced across the board and we couldn’t be more excited about the impact he has made, and continues to make on our program.
