For this Project, we had to choose an animal that that is special to us. Using characteristics of our animals, we must create effective icons of our animals in sixteen different ways. Each category allows us as designers to explore all different aspects of our animals. Through the use of effective mark making you will refine and recreate as many versions of your animal as possible to refine it down to the best sixteen icons for your final solution. Creating each icon as diversely as possible will allow you to most effectively explore all possible forms of your animal.

Overall, I found new ways to explore and effectively make marks that helped me realize how important experimentation is. Throughout the entire process, I kept drawing my animals in such similar ways. Once I knocked down that wall and began working more loosely allowed me to create more emotion and expression which helped my design more aesthetically pleasing forms. I feel like I now live and breathe toucans and fruit loops are now my worst nightmare. The categories that I struggled with the most were the straight line, single line, and texture drawings. However the

painterly and alternative mark making tools were my favorite categories by far. I really wanted to go outside the box so I dug my hand inside the box and pulled out a handful of fruit loops. I feel like I now live and breathe toucans and I have no desire to eat fruit loops ever again. Though the process was very strenuous and quite overwhelming, the repetitive nature of this project was definitely touch but in the end it allowed me to push myself to my limits and explore new kinds of mark making which has helped me understand how many different ways that we can effectively design.
