NEW ORGANIC VEGETABLE GARDENING LIVE ONLINE

In these trying times, knowing how and where your food is grown has become especially important and difficult to discern. With so many unknowns, there is, now more than ever, a strong interest in growing our own food. You will discover several options about sustainable and organic growing techniques from container gardens, as well as small- scale to largescale gardens. Seed starting, pest management, soil, fertilizers and more will be discussed. Always wanted to start and run a meat business? This is a great place to begin! These informative sessions will aid you in realizing your dream. Discover how to raise livestock for local sale, how to implement preservation methods of meat and value added products, and how to retail local meats, among other important topics.

NEW BEEKEEPING FOR BEGINNERS

This class is in partnership with the Young Farmers of VA in Rockingham

Honeybee populations have been on the decline since 2006, but fortunately, becoming a beekeeper has gained significantly in popularity. You can do your part to preserve the honeybee, the most important insect responsible for pollination of our food crops, by becoming a beekeeper yourself! This class will help you get started as a beekeeper and, in addition, you will take part in discussions and handson training that will include producing honey and selling it locally.
