A native of Dubai, Nadia Abdul Aziz was introduced to logistics by working in the family business – DULSCO – UAE’s oldest, and one of the largest, manpower supply companies to the shipping/logistics industry in the Gulf region. As a marketing, freight and logistics professional, she is still active in the industry and enjoys working on various labour issues to ensure standards are maintained. Abdul Aziz was elected to the National Association of Freight and Logistics eight years ago as an executive board member. She served a four-year term as secretary general and is currently in the second year of her term as NAFL president. The National Association of Freight and Logistics (NAFL) was founded in Dubai in 1992 to bring together the increasing number of freight and logistics service providers in the UAE. Shortly after its establishment, NAFL became the first and only national association from an Arabian Gulf country to join the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA). From a total of 24 members at its inception, NAFL has grown more than ten-fold with a current roster of 350 members.

In 2018 he resigned to become managing director for his own company, MC Ship Management. Fekry spent the first 24 years of his career with Kuwait Oil Tanker Company, progressing from cadet to fleet manager for the LPG and products fleet. His next posting was at British Petroleum Shipping in London, starting as global manager ship vetting, moving to manager vetting and clearance. He served with BP for 11 years during which he was the regional manager for marine assurance (Middle East) and seconded to The Supreme Petroleum Council of Abu Dhabi as a marine manager, where he set up and established the ADNOC Vetting Department.

Jasamin Fichte Managing Partner, Fichte & Co Legal Founder and President, WISTA

Jasamin Fichte is a dual qualified English and German solicitor specialising in maritime law. After studying in Hamburg and Southampton, she worked in London before moving to Dubai in 2002 where she served as legal counsel for the Middle East for Lloyd’s of London. She established an excellent network within the maritime community and developed her legal skills further by handling marine insurance claims, from salvage, collisions, wreck removal to cargo claims and personal injury.
