Brebeuf has enjoyed a rich sports tradition for almost 50 years through the efforts of a pantheon of alumni athletes in our Athletic Hall of Fame, establishig a model of excellence for our current generation to follow. Our newly completed St. Vincent Health Field and Marty Hill Track, combined with the state-of-the art design of the Mark G. Kite Wellness Center and additional athletic facilities, make Brebeuf Jesuit’s athletic complex one of the finest among the private schools of the Midwest. ATHLETIC OPPORTUNITIES ◆ 85% of Brebeuf students participate in athletics during their four years. ◆ Brebeuf has 17 IHSAA-sanctioned sports. ◆ 4 State championships have been won in the last four years.


SOCIAL JUSTICE Through Community Service, students have an opportunity to learn about others and to learn about themselves in the context of serving those in the community who have special needs or have experienced hardship. ◆ Approximately 60 agencies are served during the school year in Indianapolis and surrounding areas, which include clinics, hospitals, schools, youth centers, service centers, retirement facilities, nursing homes, homes for those with physical and developmental disabilities, therapeutic riding centers, youth sports programs and women’s shelters. ◆ Brebeuf Jesuit offers several mission and immersion trips so that our student can provide service to others in the greater global community, including: El Salvador, Kenya, South Dakota and New Orleans.


FAITH Brebeuf Jesuit students and faculty of all faith traditions participate in the religious life of the school—from our all-school Interfaith Prayer Convocations to our popular retreat programs. The Campus Ministry offers pastoral care to students throughout the academic year. Brebeuf students learn how to communicate personally with God in their own way through prayer. The Brebeuf graduate will also gain an understanding of the beliefs and practices of Catholic traditions and non-Catholic and non-Christian traditions. ◆ 50% of students enrolled at Brebeuf are Catholic; 50% come from faith backgrounds including: Buddhism, Protestantism, Hinduism, Judaism, and Islam. ◆ 65% of Brebeuf students attend retreats annually. Approximately 92% of students attend at least one retreat during their time at Brebeuf. ◆ 102 seniors led the Class of 2016 at Freshman Orientation this Fall, inviting them to participate in the active Campus Ministry program. ◆ Mass is offered daily during the first PRT (Personal Responsibility Time) to Brebeuf students.

ACADEMICS

Our rigorous liberal arts curriculum is derived from St. Ignatius of Loyola’s educational philosophy, which emphasizes reflection, discernment, scholarly excellence and personal responsibility. The curriculum exposes students to a breadth of knowledge and calls for critical evaluation and self-examination. Students are taught in small classes where they participate in active discussions with teachers. ◆ 100% of Brebeuf graduates go on to attend a four-year university or college. ◆ 100% of Brebeuf seniors graduate. ◆ $23,353,826 in merit-based and athletic scholarships were offered to the Class of 2012 with $5,437,276 being used.


HOW TO APPLY

All students interested in applying to Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School are required to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) at Brebeuf Jesuit or an alternative approved HSPT testing site. HSPTs will be offered on the following dates:
