Cinematic Diagram

Response Derived from the movie Memento directed by Christopher Nolan the initial diagram begins by isolating the movement of the car throughout the movie. From there the spatial organization of the car is then related to other objects throughout the movie creating the diagrammatic model of the cars spatial relationship to other objects as it moves

throughout the movie. From there the models key characteristics where then transferred to the site through a series of paper models or ventilated models. The project then connects to the existing cinema through the primary arm which then extends out across the whole site also acting as the exterior theatre. Furthermore providing not only branding for the theatre as

it passes across the busy intersection but also giving the user a since of place amongst the constantly shifting planes of the park. These constantly shifting planes begin to blur the line between what is park and what is theatre as the cinematic experience becomes blended into the site along with the existing programs.

Combined Comp Model

studio 01

Objective Design a gallery dedicated to the showing of movie.

Response Derived from early component models which were then combined to form a final component model. The Gallery is based upon a single multivalent surface which is then folded up from the primary theatre seating wrapping around the art galleries and then finally ending in a viewing screen from which the theatre seats look up to.

studio 02

Objective Design a bike park that includes a velodrome.

Response Derived from the internal analysis of an old camera and its spatial relations to light a diagrammatic model of these relations were then formed through the modeling of these characteristics. From there the project was then adapted and adjusted to the site and the challenge of adapting it to the constructions of the velodrome. By allowing to velodrome to extend of the freeway it then set precedence for the future renovations as well as a reimagining of Lubbock, which is mostly based upon the travel of cars. Through the extensions of the bike park out into the city not only began to show new and possible future routes of expansion for new bicycle routes that would then flow over the city of Lubbock, not only encouraging a healthier life style but also redefining how one see the flat lands of Lubbock.

Objective The proposed intervention will act as a connection within the series of tensions between Seoul Plaza, Citizens Hall, City Hall, Subway, and Underground Market. From the urban analysis exercises (field measures: 01 Doldam-gil, 02 Bukchon, 03 Jayang), the proposed insertions will respond directly to the contextual strata of site-specific Seoul City Hall Plaza and its interconnected adjacencies. Performing as an embedding knot, the place: plaza emerges from and intertwines between the proposed stratum, existing field conditions, and particularities of local configurations.

Response Through the formation of lines the plaza is then not only extended out into the city but out to the people. These lines not only become direct links in the way people can travel to the plaza but a place for people to create their own even. A flexible space that no longer forces the people to adapt but in return adapts to the people through its own genesis of lines. That can then continually shift and change with the people until it is no longer clear if the environment is producing an image of the mind, or if the mind is producing an image of the environment.

Objective Design a mixed use that not only responds to the river walk but also San Antonio’s othet numerous

Response Through the process of dividing and rewrapping the mass and the blending of the numerous grids throughout the site the final mass was formed. Representing the multiple grids it was created from the mass was the wrapped in pipes that then spiraled up from the bottom. This skin of pipes could not only glow during the night to light up the structure but also begin to extend out into the site. Extending and stretching out into the site these pipes could not only begin to act as signage or direction for the river walk but also seating or as planters for many of the numerous plant life. Blending the skin into the river walk and the river walk into the skin until they become one and the same.
