FROM THE PRESIDENT
DEAR NOTRE DAME FAMILY: In this past year, Notre Dame High School, despite the many challenges presented by COVID-19, continued to serve its mission as a “dynamic, diverse, Catholic community dedicated to educating young women and men to realize their full potential.” The Fall / Winter 2021 edition of the ND Journal illustrates the dynamism reflected in our ND story of teachers, students, coaches, and staff involved in the diverse mosaic we proudly call Notre Dame. Our cover focuses on the new strategic plan, Building on Excellence, which was launched in March 2021 and culminated in September 2021 with its approval by the Board of Governors and the Diocese of Trenton Superintendent of Catholic Schools. The title of the plan is significant since it is built on a strong foundation, particularly in the areas of Catholic Identity & Mission and Academic Excellence. As you read the pages of the ND Journal, I invite you to explore the stories on the outstanding success of the Class of 2021, who persevered and triumphed despite the obstacles surrounding COVID-19; reflect on our return to our roots in the Mercy Core Values and the inspiring stories of service and our commitment to the Right to Life movement; view the sensational photographs of our student artists from theatre, the visual arts, and our recent graduate, Isabella Dussias ‘21, winner of a prestigious Marvin Hamlisch International Music Award; and take time to review the phenomenal accomplishments of our student-athletes who will continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Like me, I hope you will be inspired by all of these stories and images of ND at its finest. In June, Notre Dame lost one of the men who took such great love and pride in the mission of Notre Dame, Coach John McKenna. On a personal note, I always enjoyed speaking with John in person and over the phone, and John would always end every call and visit with these words: “It’s a Great Day To Be Irish.” This edition of the ND Journal reminds us of the special blessings and graces that have been bestowed upon the ND family. As we strive to live the Mercy Core Values of Respect, Integrity, Justice, Compassion and Service, we give thanks to God for all who live the mission of ND each and every day. As always, thank you for your support and prayers.
Go Irish!

BUILDING ON EXCELLENCE In the midst of a global pandemic, the Notre Dame Board of Governors took the unprecedented step of undertaking a new strategic planning process in the spring of 2021. This new plan was formally approved by the Board of Governors on September 18.
Building on Excellence, the title of the new ND Strategic Plan, was a six-month process led by the Catholic consultative firm, Catholic School Management, and facilitated by their Senior Executive Consultant, Mrs. Maria Ribera. A Strategic Planning Committee, chaired by board member Mr. Brian Duff ‘89, consisted of a diverse team of stakeholders who provided the expertise needed to undertake this process. The committee utilized the National Catholic Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Schools as its template. As a result, the organizational outline of Building on Excellence is constructed into four goal areas as aligned with the National Catholic Standards: Mission and Catholic Identity, Governance and Leadership, Academic Excellence and Operational Vitality. In addition to the research undertaken by the Strategic Planning Team which developed the Assumptions of the Plan, Mrs. Ribera also conducted more than 260 interviews with groups and individuals from the Notre Dame community including current faculty and staff, parents and students, alumni, parents of alumni and other stakeholders. Mrs. Ribera in her summary report stated, “Notre Dame is a warm, vibrant family that has such a tremendous school spirit and alumni who take great pride in their alma mater. In the course of my interviews, it was clear that the goal areas of Mission and Catholic Identity and Academic Excellence were recognized as the strengths of the school.” President Ken Jennings added, “Mrs. Ribera’s findings now pave the way for Notre Dame to set its course and direction for the next three to five years. I am so excited about the objectives in the Operational Vitality areas including the creation of operational plans in finance, advancement, enrollment and marketing. These plans will have a profound influence on the future vision for ND.” Building on Excellence is now being shared with the Notre Dame community, starting with the faculty and staff who will then begin work on the implementation of the plan through action plans that are developed at the operational level. In addition, the Board of Governors will be utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), in all of the goal areas to measure the success and the forward progress of the plan over the next three to five years.

ND Journal
In the Operational Vitality goal area, the focus has been placed on the creation of new operational plans in the following areas: enrollment management, marketing, technology, advancement and facilities. These plans will reflect the established KPIs and ongoing progress in the objective areas of these plans. At the core of the new strategic plan, the goal of Mission and Catholic Identity takes center stage. Objective 1.3 states, “To continue and elevate the integration and promotion of the Mercy Core Values of Respect, Integrity, Justice, Compassion and Service into the mission and fabric of school culture.” As one staff member astutely noted during the interview process, “The Mercy Core Values have never been more important.” Notre Dame has embarked on an exciting new journey and vision for the school with Building on Excellence as its strategic roadmap. We look forward to the entire Notre Dame community taking the journey with us.

TITLE GRADUATION 2021
CONGRATULATIONS Class of 2021!
Despite a year filled with difficult circumstances, barriers and struggles, the Class of 2021 crossed the finish line. The graduation events began with Senior Awards on June 3 followed by our Baccalaureate Mass which was celebrated on June 5 on Monsignor Walter E. Nolan Field. The graduation ceremony took place on June 6 at CURE Insurance Arena. In his welcome to the graduates and their families at the 61st Commencement Exercise, President Ken Jennings told the class, “You will be remembered for your perseverance, steadfast commitment to reach the goal, to graduate from Notre Dame High School on this 6th day of June 2021.” Reiterating that sentiment, Principal Joanna Barlow said, “Class of 2021, how far you have come and how much has happened. In James 1:12 we are told, Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life. Class of 2021, you have remained steadfast under trial. Class of 2021, you are our hope.” In describing the class, Mrs. Barlow offered this quote from Christopher Robin who told Winnie the Pooh, 8
ND Journal
“You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” Certainly, they have been the definition of Irish Strong. In her speech, Chase Davino ’21, Valedictorian, told her classmates, “It would be easy to talk at length about the trials and tribulations of the pandemic and how it disrupted our final two high school years—but not today. Today we are celebrating our graduation.” Salutatorian Trent Collins ’21 took the class on a trip down memory lane recalling many fond memories throughout their four years at Notre Dame. Both graduates echoed the sentiment that they could not have achieved all they did without the support and love of the administration, faculty and staff. Trent said, “Fortunately for us we have many “lights” in the ND community that spread love and kindness and help us overcome the challenges the past four years have brought.” In a final farewell to the class, Principal Barlow told the graduates, “Thank you for all you have done as loving members of the Notre Dame Family. You are our Father’s gift to this world.”

RETIREES — We are so grateful for our Notre Dame faculty members who retired this year. At the Class of 2021 Commencement, Principal Joanna Barlow said, “I would like to make a special note of four Catholic educators who committed their lives to the children of Notre Dame. They retire this year and we send them off with our prayers and heartfelt gratitude. May you never underestimate the difference you have made in the lives of countless young scholars.”
YEARBOOK DEDICATION — MR. GREG SCHAFER Twenty one years after the first time he received the yearbook dedication, Mr. Greg Schafer was once again nominated by students to be the recipient of the 2021 yearbook dedication. Mr. Schafer has been a dedicated faculty member and coach at Notre Dame for 40 years. Throughout those years he has impacted the lives of many students, parents, faculty and staff. Mr. Schafer has taught Algebra I and II, Geometry, and Physical Education during his time here. He is also the head coach for the Girls and Boys Tennis teams and moderator of the Broadcasting Club. Mr. Schafer said, “To all my friends and family at Notre Dame, past and present: In the fall of 1981, I started my teaching and coaching career as a member of the Irish faculty. It is a decision which changed my life. I found a place to hang my hat, work with the greatest students which I possibly could have hoped to have. That feeling has not changed over all these years. I wish to thank those who are responsible for bestowing this honor upon me. I try to live each day with the idea to make good decisions and try to be a positive influence on others. I am positive that Notre Dame and all of those in the ND family had a tremendous influence on me.”

SOPHOMORE RECEIVES DISTINGUISHED
Notre Dame was proud to announce that Abigail Hwang ’24 received the Silver Key Award for Short Story Writing from the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers – 2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Her short story, An Influencers Burden, earned the prestigious national award. Since 1923 the Scholastic Awards have recognized some of America’s most celebrated artists while they were teenagers. Abigail is now among some esteemed alumni including: Andy Warhol, Tschabalala Self, Stephen King, Charles White, Joyce Carol Oates and Kay Walkingstick. Abigail's English teacher, Mrs. Kellyanne Stewart said she was very proud of Abigail and her accomplishment. “I was immediately impressed with Abigail’s commitment to her academics and writing skill,” said Mrs. Stewart. After reading Abigail's short story Mrs. Stewart was confident she would receive recognition. In talking about the plot line for her short story, Abigail shared,”I became inspired by the Evil Queen’s jealousy of her stepdaughter from the classic fairytale of "Snow White." Building off that inspiration, I built a basic blueprint of the plotline and characters.” Using the classic fairytale as a jumping-off point definitely gave her story a new view on the tale. During her writing process, Abigail said she incorporated a hint of mystery, sister rivalry, and a taste of the pressure modern society presents to rising media stars. This alluring combination of modern and classic styles made her unique voice radiate to the reader.
HISTORY LESSON for ST. ANN STUDENTS Perhaps a little-known fact about Notre Dame is that a piece of our land is a historical site from the Revolutionary War. A 7th grade History class from St. Ann School learned about it during its visit to Notre Dame on May 20. The students and teachers walked the route taken by George Washington and the Continental Army, with the British Army in hot pursuit, on January 2, 1777 during what historians often refer to as “The 10 Days that Saved the War.”

ND Journal
Mr. John McQuarrie, then ND Social Studies Department Chair, greeted the students upon their arrival. He took them out to the historical spot on our campus and told them the story about how a small group of militia held off the British long enough to allow Washington and the Army to get to a safe location in Trenton. In addition to the history lesson, students also received a gift from our Admissions Office.
TECHNOLOGY BRINGS GUEST SPEAKERS into the Classroom During COVID-19 Thanks to Zoom, Notre Dame was able to continue to offer students the wisdom and knowledge of outside guest speakers through virtual presentations. The two very special guests included 94-year-old Holocaust survivior, FRED BEHREND and REV. DR. JOHN NORWOOD, a local and nationally recognized Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape tribal leader, writer and historian. HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR FRED BEHREND Mr. Behrend captivated students in Mrs. Marx’s World Religions and Dr. Ingbritsen’s Honors Religion Service classes when he spoke to them in January. He shared his inspiring life story, beginning with when he witnessed the flames of Kristallnacht in 1938 at age 12. Mr. Behrend saw synagogue after synagogue on fire and was soon fleeing Nazi tyranny with his family to Cuba, the only country that would take them. His story is one of triumph over hatred and perseverance. Mr. Behrand told it with both raw emotion and humor. His message to students was clear, “I tell my story so that young people like you will be able to recognize the role you can play in stamping out hatred.” He urged students to be “upstanders rather than bystanders” when faced with social injustice, bigotry and hatred.
REV. DR. JOHN NORWOOD The World Religion classes taught by Dr. Ingbritsen and Mrs. Marx invited Rev. Dr. John Norwood to speak about Native American culture and spirituality as expressed by the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Nation of New Jersey. Zoom technology enabled two live and two online classes to engage with Dr. Norwood. Pastor Norwood has been in ministry for 40 years. He served as a college, military, and correctional chaplain, and also lectures at numerous colleges, universities, and seminaries. He earned degrees from Howard University, Princeton Theological Seminary and North West University. He holds a doctorate in Missiology (Theology of Missions) and a doctorate in Pastoral Care and Counseling. He is a local and nationally recognized Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape tribal leader, writer and historian.

BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLIES SERVICE EVENT Students collected and donated 176 backpacks and four carloads of school supplies, totaling over 1,450 items. All were donated to HomeFront, kicking off the Notre Dame High School Service Learning Program for the 2020-21 school year. Anna Piacentino ‘21 spearheaded this project as an extension of her own service initiative to collect school supplies in her Robbinsville community. Her experience of service and leadership inspired her to extend the drive to the entire Notre Dame community. With the help of fellow senior Anna Stout ‘21, the project was expanded and developed as a donation day for HomeFront. The student coordinators were joined by Maeve Evanovich ‘21, Grace Lombardi ‘21, Taylor Okamura ‘21, Juliana Troiano ‘21, Emma Lalli ‘21 and Olivia Brodtman ‘21. Service to the community is the cornerstone of a Notre Dame education. The Service Learning Program inspires students to follow the example of Jesus as they recognize the dignity of every person. The program fosters commitment to a lifetime of giving to both the local and global communities.

FRESHMAN ICAN AND SPIRITUALITY DAY The first Freshman ICAN/Spirituality Day was full of energy, especially since it was the first time the students had been together as a group since learning was virtual due to COVID. The day began with Mass and inspiring workshops. Youth Minister, Gezemiah Ford spoke to the students about life choices. A representative from Attitudes in Reverse (AIR) shared a “toolkit” for good mental health. Goober, a therapy dog, was also in attendance to supply some furry, fun stress relief. There was also a workshop on prayer. During the service portion of the day, the freshmen packaged over 20,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger.
CelebrateLife CLUB
THE
The Celebrate Life Club attended the March for Life to give testimony to our firm belief in the sanctity of life at all ages and all stages. Since travel was not an option in the 2020-21 school year, the Club planned a number of events in lieu of their trip to Washington, DC. At the beginning of the year, the entire school community prayed a Rosary for Life – both in-person in our school chapel and virtually via our YouTube channel. Students, parents and alumni were able to watch remotely. The Club also launched a “Bundles for Babies” for new moms who have chosen to carry their unborn babies to term. Students donated undershirts, sleepers, pajamas, socks, bibs, diapers, wipes, socks, clothing, bottles and baby formula. The Club consolidated all of the donations so that each layette "bundle" could be donated. They also set up a flag display with 970 blue and pink plastic flags to signify unborn children’s lives that were lost to abortion. The display included two banners explaining the meaning of the flags, as well as how a person affected by abortion could seek help and support. FALL / WINTER 2021

CATHOLIC MISSION MERCY DAY LITURGY It is our tradition to honor our founding Sisters of Mercy at the first Liturgy of each school year. In 1957, Principal, Fr. Henry M. Tracy was assisted by Sister Mary Eleanor and a teaching staff of 16, consisting of 12 Sisters of Mercy and four lay teachers who opened our school. College preparatory classes were offered along with business education courses, mechanical drawing and a reading program. Sr. Karina Haywood, RSM offered the following prayer for Mercy Day “The Sisters of Mercy join in prayer to shower grace and strength on the present and past members of the ND family.” We are grateful to the Mercy Sisters for the foundation of the core values they established at our school: Respect, Integrity, Justice, Compassion and Service.
FEBRUARY LITURGY Celebrating social justice, diversity, inclusion and the Progress of People and Black History Month was the theme of the February liturgy. Mass was celebrated by Father Jason Parzynski with special help from members of the SHADES Club, the Justice Club and the World Language Department. Students read the petitions in multiple languages such as English, Spanish, Creole, Polish, French, Italian and Latin. Following the liturgy, the SHADES Club presented a video of Dr. Dwayne Proctor, Chair of the Board of Governors of the NAACP and Senior Advisor to the President of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, who gave an insightful presentation explaining the importance of spreading pride in African American communities. After the video, students celebrated their heritage through poems and songs. The performances concluded with a praise dance duet and a step dance.
RECEPTION OF THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION Anthony Balbuena ‘23, Brianna Barbarino ‘22, Will Celli ‘22, Alyssa Jennings ‘23, Mason Kloc ‘23, Aidan McGovern ‘23, Britt Reid ‘23 and Giacomo Rosati ‘23 received the Sacrament of Confirmation and were celebrated at a school-wide liturgy in October. The seven students completed their final preparations for the Sacrament of Confirmation through the RCIA Program at Notre Dame. The RCIA Program stands for “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.” It is designed to help those who desire to enter into a faith-filled community within the Catholic church. Notre Dame was blessed to be able to implement the RCIA process and Confirmation preparation into our school. Mrs. Eileen Hart, a faculty member in the Religion Department, played an essential role in the RCIA Program. For a number of years, she worked as the Coordinator for the RCIA Program at the Diocese of Trenton and carried her experience over to Notre Dame. We are blessed to have been able to witness this special and holy moment as a community during our Liturgy. 22

NOTRE DAME KICKS OFF THE
Members of the Notre Dame community held four different service events over the 2020 Thanksgiving weekend bringing many gifts to those in need. “What better way to enter this special time of year than by giving to others,” said Maggie Kelly, SVP and Director of Institutional Advancement. The First Annual Turkey Trot took place from November 21-29 and was a great success. More than 170 Notre Dame alumni, family and friends entered the virtual 5k run/walk and raised over $4,000 to support our local community. The funds raised were donated to Senior Care Services of Greater Princeton and The Mt. Carmel Guild. This was the second year for the Notre Dame Alumni Food Drive spearheaded by ND alumna and former faculty member, Bonnie Clawson ’96 Milecki. In 2019, 25 alumni donated close to 125 pounds of food. 41 alumni spanning three decades donated 651 pounds of food to the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank in Ewing, NJ. Bonnie began the food drive initiative in hopes of keeping alumni involved in community service. Notre Dame’s Catholic Athletes for Christ (CAC) partnered with Joey’s Little Angels for its annual toy drive for local children’s hospitals. Students collected over 2,400 toys to be donated to Joey’s Little Angels. A toy donation event on was held November 28. Families were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Claus, a live reindeer, princesses, superheroes, music and bagpipers. The event was featured on 6ABC news. “We are incredibly thankful to have had such wonderful participation from our Notre Dame family in our Turkey Trot 5K, Alumni Food Drive, student-run Thanksgiving Food Drive and Joey’s Little Angels Toy Drive,” said Ms. Kelly. “A commitment to citizenship and service in the community is a cornerstone of Notre Dame High School’s mission. It was truly a blessing to be able to begin this season of giving on such a high note, especially during these unprecedented times.”

Other panelists were Deacon Turner, Mr. Dwayne Curry, Pastor Cox and Mrs. Cox. The afternoon featured a presentation and art project facilitated by Brother Mickey McGrath, an artist, author and presenter who explored the relationship between art and faith.
HOPE EVANKO ‘23 EARNS RANK OF EAGLE In 2018, The Boy Scouts of America allowed girls to join their program. Soon after, Hope Evanko ‘23 joined a troop and began her journey of becoming a member of the inaugural class of female Eagle Scouts. Hope’s first position of responsibility was as a Senior Patrol Leader. She also served as a Den Chief for a cub scout troop. Hope earned special awards including Ad Altare Dei, Pope Pius XII and Ockanickon Honor Camper as well as 21 merit badges. The culmination of a scout’s leadership training and a final step toward the rank of Eagle is the completion of an Eagle Project. For her project, Hope constructed a stone fire pit and five benches at Crossing Community Church in Newtown, PA. She titled the project “Fire, Faith, Fellowship and Family.” Regarding her achievement, Hope said, “It is definitely a very rewarding feeling to be a part of the Inaugural Class of Female Eagle Scouts. It's something that I had always wanted to achieve since my dad is an Eagle Scout.” Hope’s father, Joseph Evanko ’91 said, “I remember when I was at ND and earned my Eagle Scout award over 30 years ago. This is an even greater honor for Hope since she is one of the first female Eagle Scouts.”
ND HELPS LOCAL CHILDREN CELEBRATE A SAFE AND SWEET HALLOWEEN Our Notre Dame family answered the call to donate candy, juice boxes, snacks and crafts for last year’s Halloween Candy Drive. The Service Learning students assembled over 600 treat bags. In addition to the treats, craft bags were made for preschool children that included materials to make a fun and fuzzy spider along with whimsical Halloween-themed coloring pages. The students made 300 craft bags.
The treat and craft bags were donated to the five branches of the Mercer County CYO and the Carolyn Stokes Preschool. Treat bags were also shared with the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) and HomeFront to distribute along with dinner meals. ND was happy to host the students from Sprouts School of the Arts which is an annual tradition. Weather permitted the event to be held outside under the tent with the students’ favorite activities and treats.

DesignWebsites Julia Haas ‘21 (above left), created an informative and fun food website and blog called Get Veggie With It. Julia’s site originated while, as a student in Mrs. Bannon’s Journalism class, she was given the assignment to create a website. Julia combined her passions for vegetarianism and journalism to formulate the content for the site. Mrs. Bannon enjoys allowing her students to create work about which they are truly passionate. Mrs. Bannon stated, “Julia went above and beyond. She really mastered the technology, even doing a restaurant review with a link to make reservations. She exceeded my expectations and also found a real passion for journalism.” Veronica Cruz’ ‘21 (above right) site was an independent project born during the pandemic. The successful “study buddy” site was titled ProcrastiNote. Veronica and her co-founders realized that as high schoolers living in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic many students were struggling mentally and academically. We wanted to make a difference and help other students.”
PinkOut2020
Their efforts to support students in a school lifestyle that was almost exclusively online became a fantastic way to help high school students stay ahead. Veronica and her team worked to make sure that ProcrastiNote was a database with everything that a COVID-19 era high schooler would need to excel in life.
Notre Dame’s 12th Annual Pink Out looked a little different this past year, but faculty member, Ms. Diane Wargo and the ND Cares Club were still able to honor breast cancer warriors and angels as they do each year. The Pink Out theme was “Supporting each other through love.” The week prior to the official Pink Out Game, ND Cares Club members along with Ms. Wargo and Mrs. Maruca held prayer services with students for the breast cancer angels, warriors and survivors. Although we could not have the usual hair cutting event during halftime, students went to local salons to have their hair cut and were still able to donate. Ponytail donations were collected at the end of each prayer service to be used in the making of wigs for cancer patients. The ND Cares Club also collected donations to make care packages for those undergoing chemotherapy. The Notre Dame family found a way to overcome obstacles and give back to the community. Always Irish Strong.

NOTRE DAME WAS
VICTORIOUS ON AND OFF THE FIELD
When Notre Dame opened in a hybrid learning model last August, all eyes were on the High School’s ability to keep students safe, healthy and engaged.
“I was excited for the student-athletes and coaches with the resumption of athletics last summer and I continued to be impressed as the fall season got underway,” said Notre Dame President, Ken Jennings. Jennings admits he was equally apprehensive regarding safety issues surrounding play during the pandemic. “Safety was the #1 concern for our students and coaches,” Jennings continued. “We took every precaution possible, including an appeal to parents to help the school stay vigilant while students were off campus, and I believe that the parent partnership helped the school remain open and kept our athletes on their fields, courts and tracks.” Jennings attributes much of this success to Director of Athletics, Rich Roche. “In the end, thanks to the great work of Rich Roche and our coaches, we enjoyed highly successful seasons across the board” Jennings continued. “Our coaches did a remarkable job leading our student-athletes. I cannot say enough about the example they set under the leadership of Rich Roche.” Roche, a 20+ year veteran of high school coaching and athletics administration thought he had seen it all – until COVID-19. "Our biggest opponent this season was not the other teams on our schedule, it was COVID-19” said Roche. I couldn’t be more proud of our coaching staff, support staff and student-athletes for their diligence and attention to detail in following the protocols. This year was about getting on the field with teammates and friends and enjoying the competition. We are winners over the pandemic for making it through our athletic seasons that were unlike any other."

THE FUND FOR NOTRE DAME
STRONG IN SPIRIT
WHY IS THE FUND FOR NOTRE DAME SO CRITICAL?
THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE… OUR NOTRE DAME STUDENTS NEED US.
For more than 60 years, Notre Dame High School has gone above and beyond to educate young women and men to realize their full potential through a faith-filled community, academic excellence, extensive co-curricular activities and a commitment to citizenship and service to others. The 2020–21 academic year was no exception. Despite the challenges presented by COVID-19, Notre Dame has remained resolute to what’s most important to our students’ success – meaningful academic challenge, tradition, faith and family. Our dedicated Notre Dame faculty and staff continue to model resilience and ingenuity in delivering an outstanding educational experience for every student. This is possible, in part, because of The Fund for Notre Dame. Your annual gift ensures that today’s students will gain the critical thinking skills, the confidence, and the spiritual strength to be well-prepared for college and life. JOIN THE PRESIDENT’S CLUB FOR 2021–2022 For over 60 years, students at Notre Dame High School have thrived – experiencing transformative intellectual, personal, and spiritual growth. The school itself – our programs, people, and facilities – must also grow, expand, and evolve to deliver a competitive college preparatory education rooted deeply in Catholic values that nurture and nourish our students’ growth. As you most likely know, tuition revenue alone does not cover the cost of a Notre Dame student’s education. We rely on the generous support of our community of parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to bridge the gap by supporting The Fund for Notre Dame. Donations to The Fund for Notre Dame extend our ability to remain competitive and exceed expectations through innovative academics, expansive athletic, arts, and co-curricular opportunities, essential professional development for faculty, improvements to our campus, and crucial tuition assistance. The President’s Club is a recognition society honoring Notre Dame’s most generous donors who contribute at a leadership level of $1,000 and above to The Fund for Notre Dame. As a member, you join a circle of devoted benefactors with shared conviction and vision that propel Notre Dame’s momentum forward. As the world around us changes rapidly, we are incredibly grateful to the exceptional generosity of our President’s Club members who provide the strength and stability necessary for growth, especially during these uncertain times. We hope you will consider supporting Notre Dame this year as a President’s Club member. As leaders within the Notre Dame community, you will continue to shape the legacy of Notre Dame High School. Your leadership motivates others to give.

CLARIFICATION ON DIFFERENCES BETWEEN FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING AND ADVANCEMENT REPORTING: It is important to clarify the distinction between financial accounting, which underlies the financial reporting of gifts and Advancement reporting, which is a measure of fundraising activity in accordance with standards set forth by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). This policy focuses on Advancement reporting, not financial accounting and reporting. Notre Dame Advancement tracks all outright gifts, pledges, and planned gifts received. The intent of Advancement reporting is to reflect the total impact of fundraising efforts by representing all gifts, including the value of pledges and planned gifts, at both face and present values. Gift revenue accounted for in the school’s financial accounting system and presented in the school's audited consolidated financial statements may differ from gifts included in Advancement reporting for a number of reasons, including but not limited to: transfers of assets not recognized as gifts in the financial accounting system; gifts recognized in different periods than in Advancement reporting; and gifts reported at different amounts based on differing methodologies used to value gifts in the school’s financial accounting system and Advancement reporting. 40

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY Hundreds of Notre Dame athletes and students enjoy the use of our turf field and the Wrobo Track on a daily basis. Nolan Stadium is truly our fitness hub. We were ready for a facelift as a result of the wear and tear that this athletic space has endured, and have replaced the turf field and resurfaced The Joe Wroblewski Memorial Track. Earlier this year, Notre Dame invited track and field alumni to participate in a special project to offset the costs associated with the resurfacing. We greatly appreciate the generosity of the following donors.
