IMPACT BRIEFING
Letter from President Jennings
Dear Notre Dame Family:
I hope that you enjoy this first edition of the Impact Briefing for Notre Dame High School from the Office of the President. Every dollar that Notre Dame raises has an “impact” on the environment and culture of our school. This briefing illustrates the numerous ways in which your support to Notre Dame can have a transformational impact. In addition to the Fund for Notre Dame, your support to the Legacy Walkway on Perone Field, and the renovation of the boys and girls locker rooms are also examples of the various giving programs that not only impact the students of today but the students of tomorrow
Speaking of the future, the Board of Governors has committed to move forward with a new Master Facilities Plan which will impact Notre Dame as we examine ways to renovate our library and campus spaces - nothing can be more exciting for the growth of Notre Dame.
So I ask you: Where do you want to make your impact on the ND Community?
President Ken JenningsLEGACY WALKWAY ON PERONE FIELD
On November 23, 2022, our new state-of-the art turf field was dedicated in honor of legendary boys soccer coach, Mike Perone. Our boys and girls soccer teams and our girls lacrosse team now call Perone Field home.
Finishing touches to the field are now in place, but the project still needs two important details: a scoreboard and sound system.
Please help us by making a donation toward this effort or by purchasing a personalized brick for the Legacy Walkway that leads to the field entrance.

LIVING THE LEGACY, NOTRE DAME LOCKER ROOM RENOVATIONS
Our locker room renovation project is complete and our athletes are utilizing these new spaces named in honor of beloved coaches Barb Major and Chappy Moore. We thank our donors who have contributed nearly $300,000 toward the project.
Locker naming opportunities are still available. Scan the QR code for additional information.
Notre Dame DAY OF GIVING March 17
by Elena Caccavale, Director of Annual GivingWhat
is the ND Day of Giving?
ND Day of Giving is a 24-hour fundraising event bringing together alumni, parents, faculty and staff, students and friends to raise funds in support of the School’s mission. Tuition alone does not cover the cost of a Notre Dame education. Gifts of any size to the Fund for Notre Dame are welcome, and you can designate the program of your choice. This is our favorite day of the year in the Advancement office. The office is decorated, we play Irish music around the clock, we welcome our students, faculty and staff throughout the day to share in some Irish theme treats and green punch. We don’t often get the chance to just chat with the students so it’s a great time for us to get to know them and educate them a bit on what we do.
What are ways that ND parents, alumni, and friends can support the Day of Giving?
Your participation on March 17 will serve as a meaningful statement about your family’s Notre Dame experience. You can support us by making a donation and sharing on social media to spread the word. At ND, we use a giving platform that has been very helpful in creating unique websites for each and every campaign we have. Our goal is to raise $50,000 in 24 hours.
WHAT IS THE SPRING FLING?
by Kathy McGovern, Spring Fling Steering CommitteeThe Spring Fling Gala is the largest event that Notre Dame sponsors to advance its fundraising efforts. It will be held Saturday, March 25 at the Trenton Country Club.
What is new for this year’s Spring Fling?
This year our Spring Fling will feature a sit-down dinner, instead of a cocktail reception from previous years. This will give our guests the opportunity to enjoy all the night has to offer. Of course there are many wonderful gifts to be auctioned off - but most importantly - money raised this year will go to support the ND Merit Scholarships.
The Merit Scholarships are crucial to keeping Notre Dame competitive with other schools in our area.
Participate in Notre Dame’s Day of Giving
What are the ways that current ND parents can get involved or support the Spring Fling Gala?
• Attend the Spring Fling! It’s such a fun night with friends to raise money for our school.
• Sponsor the event or donate auction items through our wish list.
Learn more and register for the Spring Fling.

Physical Computing and Robotics Showcase Classroom Podcasts
Students demonstrated their capstone projects completed in Mrs. Claudette Guy’s Physical Computing and Robotics class during the first annual Student Showcase. The capstone projects were a pinnacle of what students have learned in the class about sensors, microprocessors, and output devices. They prototyped automatic watering devices, robot candy dispensers that don't fall off tables, motion detectors, security systems, and a student-driven attendance system.
ND English teacher, Mrs. Cindy Bannon, recently introduced technology upgrades to her Journalism classroom. She has been working tirelessly to create an atmosphere where she can incorporate instructional media into her students’ everyday lessons. To this end, Mrs. Bannon established a small podcast studio. Creating a podcast has been added as a final project option for Journalism 1 students.
Visit from St. Frances Academy Students
Students from St. Frances Academy, an independent Catholic High School in Baltimore, visited Notre Dame and met with our SHADES Club. Founded in 1828, it is the first and oldest continually operating Black Catholic educational facility in the U.S. The meeting was intended to foster our growing relationship with the school and allow the students to share their experiences.
Madison Reda ‘24, spoke at the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) in Long Beach, California. The conference is the premiere Catholic youth event on a national scale that gathers people from across America. Madison’s talk focused on youth and mental health.
