Our school reflects the diversity of the community and is characterized by unity of purpose and compatibility with the school’s Mission.
As a Christian school, the Scriptures will always be our authority for faith and living.
ROM THE BOARD
LETTER FROM THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES BA Community, Esteemed leadership, inspirational and accomplished faculty, and a diverse and talented student body require that we pick up the mantle that began at Brentwood Academy more than 50 years ago. We walk in faith and build upon the tremendous blessings of our history. Thank you to our faithful supporters. Brentwood Academy stands on the shoulders of those who invested in the mission since its founding in 1969, each donor committed to sustaining the eternal impact BA provides. In a fallen world, we believe the mission of Brentwood Academy is more important than ever. Now is the time to call this vision of vitality and excellence into reality for the next generation of Brentwood Academy.

S T R AT E G I C G O A L S Since 1969, Brentwood Academy has remained steadfast to advancing our mission - body, mind, and spirit – to the glory of God. We continue to be faithful to this commitment while advancing our organizational priorities. These priorities are comprised of four new strategic goals that serve as a road map for future growth and innovation here at Brentwood Academy. Each goal has distinct objectives that define and achieve success, with academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment being the cornerstone of every goal.
GOAL ONE
GOAL TWO
THE WHOLE PERSON
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
GOAL THREE
GOAL FOUR
COMMUNITY
FINANCIAL STRENGTH
OAL ONE
THE WHOLE PERSON Brentwood Academy nurtures each student by providing a total experience that leads to: • Cultivating gifts and talents • Fostering confidence • Being known and valued • Developing initiative, self-direction, and teamwork • Encouraging healthy relationships • Engaging opportunities in athletics, fine arts, and performing arts • Promoting a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
STRATEGIES Build on our exemplary advisory system.
Provide students with access to a professional, confidential counselor at school.
Enhance our meaningful student leadership program.
Review and adjust our schedule, calendar, curriculum, and co-curricular offerings for time and priority demands on students.
Monitor and modify, if needed, the most effective means of nurturing student faith.
OAL TWO
AC A D E M I C E XC E L L E N C E Brentwood Academy provides a learning environment where 21st century skills, essential for success in college and life, will be learned.
STRATEGIES Provide teachers with professional development opportunities to achieve stated student learning goals.
Establish a pilot initiative for teachers to learn and use specific methods to enhance student engagement and ownership of their education as independent thinkers and learners.
Provide support for faculty to have ongoing mentoring.
Establish opportunities for professional and vocational exposure and mentoring for students.
OAL THREE
COMMUNITY Brentwood Academy promotes our core value commitment to provide a diverse and united school community that values each whole person for their unique God-given attributes.
STRATEGIES Aim to place mission-appropriate people who can enrich our community by adding to the diversity of experiences and backgrounds of those who teach, nurture, and challenge our students.
Increase BA brand awareness in the greater Nashville community.
Continue to listen well and often to all members of our school community while making decisions consistent with our Mission.
Actively pursue involvement, communications, and support from our alumni and past parents.
Provide opportunities for students to lead in various ways as a means of fostering initiative and unity.
Continue to affirm the God-honoring reconciliating work of Jesus with grace and patience.
OAL FOUR
FINANCIAL STRENGTH Brentwood Academy further strengthens our financial position through development of resources that serve current and future students. Our goals for financial strength include: • Create a qualified applicant pool to sustain an optimal enrollment of missionappropriate students • Continue to develop support for need-base financial aid • Fund a value proposition that is widely perceived and affirmed by both current and prospective families • Continue to update our campus to enhance the delivery of our mission • Promote a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
STRATEGIES Increase applications from qualified students to maintain an ideal student body through effective marketing and communications.
Increase endowment funding for financial aid.
Evaluate the need for new and/or renovated space to meet the academic needs of our students and the feasibility of funding such space.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT As an independent school, BA receives no government funding and relies on tuition and charitable gifts as the primary source of funding. BA is grateful for the collaborative generosity of BA Board of Trustees, faculty, parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends.
ANNUAL FUND The Annual Fund helps provide an exceptional academic experience in a Christ-centered environment, impacting strategic objectives. The funds raised go directly into the operating budget and are used the same year they are received. While tuition almost completely covers the cost of education, the Annual Fund plays an important role, allowing us to address emerging priorities.
CAPITAL GIFTS Gifts for capital projects have built the campus our students enjoy today. Donors generally give over a period of years to support “bricks and mortar” projects. Today, BA families benefit from the generosity of those who came before them and we look forward to continual growth of our campus that enhances programming, with Christ at the center of all we do.
ENDOWMENT Endowment expands our ability to shape students’ lives by providing funds in perpetuity for key institutional priorities. Gifts to endowment provide a permanent source of support for faculty salaries and financial aid, for example. A percentage of the endowment is used annually to minimize tuition.
PLANNED GIVING The Vivat Veritas Society recognizes the generosity of donors who are helping secure the BA mission and ministry through estate planning, such as naming BA as a beneficiary in your will or on an insurance policy. Making a planned gift may allow tax advantages or income for a term of years or life. Unanimously approved and adopted by the Brentwood Academy Board of Trustees on August 31, 2015.
