Varsity Boys Basketball Coach Coach Husband (‘93) has been the head coach of the BA boys varsity basketball team for six years, guiding the team to a region championship in 2007. Rhonda Brown Varsity Girls Basketball Coach Coach Brown was an All-American in women’s basketball at Vanderbilt where she led the Commodores to two SEC championships and a Final Four appearance in 1993. After Vanderbilt, she played professionally for five years including time spent in the WNBA, Turkey, and Israel. She recently completed her eleventh year as the varsity girls basketball head coach. Her BA teams played in the state championship three years in a row from 2004-2007 and were the 2006 state champions. She has coached numerous players who have gone on to play Division I college basketball and has coached a Miss Basketball Finalist five of the last six seasons. FUNDAMENTAL CAMP 2 Date/Time: July 16-19, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost: $200 early registration; $215 after July 1 Ages: Boys entering grades 1-8 Location: BA Upper School Gym Brentwood Academy Fundamental Development Basketball Camp focuses on improving the most important aspect of the game— fundamentals. Campers of a wide age range and skill level can benefit from this camp. This camp is intense, energetic, and structured for those players who want to get better and improve fundamental skills such as defense, footwork, passing and catching, shooting, dribbling, and rebounding. This camp strives to build a foundation of fundamental skills that must be mastered in order to be an effective basketball player. Younger campers have fun and learn while older campers get hundreds of repetitions of fundamental skills.
GIRLS BASKETBALL SKILLS AND PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CAMP Date/Time: June 18-21, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost: $200 early registration; $215 after June 4 Location: BA Upper School Gym Campers will learn skills to develop their game and make them an all-around competitor. Emphasis is placed on fundamentals such as shooting, boxing out, rebounding, defense, ball handling, and dribbling that are age specific. 8-foot goals are available for the younger girls.
SHOOTING CAMP Date/Time: July 9-11, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Cost: $105 early registration; $125 after June 25 Location: BA Event Gym in Athletic Fitness Center Everyone can become a better shooter, and this camp will teach campers how. The focus of this camp is on age appropriate shooting skills. Players will have their shot broken down to help fix bad habits and learn how to shoot at game speed. Players will leave a better shooter and with drills to help them further their Development. Smaller balls and lower goals will be used for the younger girls.
OFFENSIVE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CAMP Date/Time: July 23-26, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost: $200 early registration; $215 after July 9 Location: BA Event Gym in Athletic Fitness Center This camp will focus on offensive skill Development: shooting, getting open, moving without the ball, offensive moves, breaking down the defense, scoring, passing and position work. This camp is open to the beginning runner or a seasoned competitor. We will bus some of the days to other locations (Crockett Park, Radnor Lake, Percy Warner) to run.

We will create colorful, exciting and fun pieces of art as we explore new mediums and experiment with new techniques. This camp will expand your artists’ visual awareness and encourage creativity. Enrollment is limited.
DRAMA Date/Time: July 18-27 (weekdays only), 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Camp begins at 1:00 p.m. on July 27 and runs through performances that evening. Cost: $250 (In order to secure performing rights and select shows with the appropriate number of roles, fees are non-refundable after June 1.) Our camp offers a lively, interactive, non-competitive experience. Coming to camp guarantees you a role in a one-act show that will be cast on the first day of camp. There is no preparation necessary, as auditioning will be our topic of instruction on the first morning. The camp will close with an evening performance on July 27 for friends and family. Upper school improv campers will learn the basic techniques to ensure a laugh-out-loud improv performance. Campers will actively engage in a variety of improvisational group activities, strengthening their abilities to think and respond quickly in scenes, ultimately ensuring a solid performance on stage. The camp will conclude with a final performance on July 13 for friends and family. Campers will make a variety of meals in camp to take home and bake. We will cover kitchen basics including proper food handling, food preparation, food storage, measurements and more! Campers will leave every day with a dish, and at the end of the week they will leave with a mini cookbook.

It employs modeling, group activities, and teamwork to help students retain what they learn during the course and apply it throughout the school year. The core curriculum includes organizational systems, time management methods, active reading, test preparation, and memory techniques.
ROBOTICS Date/Time: June 25-28, 9-11 a.m. Cost: $90 early registration; $105 after June 11 Ages: Boys and Girls entering grades 6 and above Location: BA Middle School, 8th grade den Campers will use the Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 robotics kit to build their own robots and program them to perform all types of actions. Campers will learn and use a design methodology that will teach them about the new motors and sensors that their robot can use. Space is limited.
ROUND UP FARM CAMP Date/Time: June 6-8, 9-11:30 a.m. Cost: $125 early registration; $140 after May 1 Ages: Boys and Girls entering grades 1-3 Location: Reynolds’ Farm (Take exit 61 on I-65 South. Turn left on Peytonsville Road. Cross over the interstate and take the first left on Long Lane. Go three miles. Turn left on 4500 Long Lane. Follow the drive to the barn.) Address: 4500 Long Lane, Franklin, TN, 37064 Farm camp is designed for young children to explore and experience farm animals and outdoor activities. It’s a great time to run and play balanced with time to spend one on one with different animals. Activities will include feeding chickens, collecting eggs from hen house, petting horses and goats, group games, scavenger hunt, crafts and more. Campers will need to bring a snack and water bottle each day. Enrollment is limited to 8 campers.

Using catapults, water rockets, airplanes, and egg drops, we will look at why and how things move. Students will also enjoy a science-based snack every day as we discuss the science behind our food.

Campers will spend six days learning the basics of several adventure sports including canoeing, climbing and camping. The last two days will be overnights on the Fiery Gizzard Trail where campers will learn backpacking, hiking, back-country cooking and tent camping basics. Includes airfare, other transportation, activity fees and most meals) Ages: Boys and Girls ages 12 and up Locations: Denver, Buena Vista and Salida, Colorado Campers will spend eight days traveling through and playing in some of the United States’ most scenic landscapes. The schedule will be as follows: The trip will be eight days total, including two travel days and six days of ascending fourteeners in the Collegiate Range, tent camping in the San Isabel National Forest, whitewater rafting on the Arkansas river, hot springs at the Cottonwood Spa, and some of the best pizza in the world in Salida, CO.
