BA Mission: Brentwood Academy is a co-educational, independent, college preparatory school dedicated to nurturing and challenging each whole person – body, mind, and spirit – to the glory of God.
Schoolwide Service Project: Wounded Warrior T he class of 2012 has selected Wounded Warrior Project for the school’s service focus this school year. WWP exists to honor and empower wounded warriors who have suffered service-connected injuries on or after September 11, 2001. Their programs help foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history. Brentwood Academy seniors have presented information about WWP throughout the year, and the student body is raising funds for the program through t-shirt sales and collections. With the mission to honor and empower wounded warriors, WWP is the hand extended to encourage warriors as they adjust to their new normal and achieve new triumphs. According to WWP, an unprecedented percentage of service members are surviving severe wounds or injuries. For every U.S. soldier killed in World Wars I and II, there were 1.7 soldiers wounded. In Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, for every U.S. soldier killed, 7 are wounded. Email poa@brentwoodacademy.com to reserve your t-shirt and support the school service project. RIGHT: Students, alumni and parents of alumni had the opportunity recently to show support for BA’s own wounded warrior, Andrew Wilson ‘07, by helping with his homecoming celebration, held December 20 in Brentwood. Members of the class of 2007 and their parents turned out to help tie ribbons on fenceposts and organize the event. Read more on page 2.

He returned home for a two-week break from his stay at Walter Reed Rehabilitation Hospital in Bethesda, MD. Among the crowds were Andrew’s classmates (pictured above) as well as many parents of alumni, BA students and faculty.
