The One Machine Solution
Fabcenter
The One Machine Solution The Breton FABCENTER is a multifunction DIGITAL workcenter for fabricating countertops to completion, with the most minimal labor and maximum manageability. Employing our new revolutionary software Breton FABCAM, the operator can choose to design the various components of the project (or import .dxf files created from field or captive digital templating systems.) The resulting cad files are very simply dragged and dropped over automatically scaled photographs of the slabs selected for the job, taken using the industrial grade camera system provided. Breton FABCAM employs common line cutting capabilities to ensure optimized material usage reducing the number of cuts taken during sawing/routing operations. The software is intuitive of linear and radius cuts and applies the correct tool accordingly. With Breton FABCAM your layout IS your cutting program. The results of the assembled project are displayed at the PC monitor in High resolution as a 3D dynamic rendering including edge detail of the finished pieces where adjacent pieces are recomposed as a unit. This system allows extremely precise vein matching and other layout customizing tools by automatically removing from the graphic, the material which will be removed by the tools during the process. The file becomes a TRUE preview of the final project, including splash, recesses, cut outs, tap holes and edge detail.
The 3D image is capable of being zoomed and rotated for verification. The rendering may then be exported in a digital file format to be sent via email or simply printed for customer approval prior to processing. The entire cutting process is previewed using a 3D simulator showing a model of the machine running and the material being processed as programmed. This allows for verification of the overall dimensions of the piece, suction cups, and tools. The system will identify and alarm for points of collision and impact. Once all verifications are completed the Breton FABCENTER will perform all cutting operations to separate the components according to the programmed layout. Once completed the pieces are very simply shifted to new positions on the table respective of clearances required for the tools selected for the remaining shaping and edging operations, thus eliminating the risk of breakage between operations. A very simple vacuum action suction system is used for this process. Piece shifting and repositioning is facilitated and guided by the Breton SPACELASER which marks the new positions for the separated pieces on the worktable. The Breton SPACELASER is a new hardware/software system designed to project onto the working table the position of the suction cups for both the cutting and profiling operation, the slab perimeter and the profile of the finished pieces. The ideas and wishes expressed by Fabricators along with the experience of a first class stone machinery manufacturer have been brought to a unique result: a brilliant synergy between mechanics and software power and the industries only all inclusive single machine digital soltution for complete custom countertop fabrication...The Breton FABCENTER.

The operator can simultaneously programs these processes while the machine is running.
Fabcenter
In particular, Breton FABCAM software allows: • to make both simple and complex templates through the X and Y interpolated process, including cutting, edge polishing, execution of holes.
• the creation of simple and complex drawings designed for future execution of cutting, shaping, edging, polishing and drilling operations.
• the production of flat and inclined recesses, including dishing and the polishing of the bas-relief edge, oscillating polish of the top, drilling operations, cutting and polishing sink holes as well as dishing and polishing of drip boards. • to dish billets in order to produce shower trays and sinks whose hole may not be positioned in the middle • to profile billets according to the selected profile • to engrave artistic drawings and inscriptions composed of the most wide-spread sets of international characters • to import and interpret DXF files (such as “templates”) of pieces that feature an irregular shape which cannot be realized through macros, and subject them to the different cutting, contouring, polishing, drilling, dishing, etc. operations • to import and interpret IGES files of three-dimensional pieces • to realize libraries for storing the various pieces processed, or just a part of them, so as to reuse such pieces easily • to realize libraries for storing the technological parameters of all the tools linked to the different jobs made on various materials, in order to make the tool usage easier • dynamic toolpath simulation.
Fabcente From the drawing to the finished piece in just 3 steps with Breton FABCAM From your office PC in 3 simple steps the entire process. 1 - DESIGN • The design module allows you to design the project, starting from a dxf drawing “template” or by using the integrated CAD module to create a true layout of the project. • At this stage the user can access a library (managed by the user) simplifying and speeding up project design. • The user can select from a library thickness and type of material for each single piece and update the library with a photo of the piece itself. • The various edge finishing processes and milling operations are also defined at this stage. 2 – LAYOUT AND ARRANGEMENT OF PIECES ON THE SLAB • To obtain the desired finish and effect, the pieces to be cut are positioned on the digital photo of the slab using the mouse. • Piece positioning offers a wide number of functions allowing the various pieces to be positioned next to each other, simultaneously rotated and shifted. At the same time the user checks for any point of collision and impact with the milling tools. • As the user positions the pieces on the slab displayed, the dynamic rendering automatically updates taking
into account the veining in the material as well as the amount of material removed during cutting, milling and finishing operations. • Fine details of individual pieces are displayed, such as edge finishing, recesses, backsplashes offering a powerful aid to the user and above all guaranteeing the achievement of the desired project aesthetics. • The cutting sequence can be saved and displayed from any PC. Using the zoom function it is possible to enlarge the seaming area. The cutting sequence and rendering can be digitally exported as JPEG file or printed so the Customer can approve the project before cutting. • To complete this stage the combined disc cutting and milling operations are simulated. 3 – PART PROGRAM • For each single piece the tool sequence is defined and the various work programs are generated to allow for any required manual operations. • At this stage both slab position on the worktable and tooling are defined such as the position of the suction cups and the position of the pieces after cutting so as to create spaces between the pieces to allow for edging finishing operations.

Process Flow 1 - Defining a new slab After having taken the photo the slab is uploaded to the PC screen and any image distortion caused by the lens, position, exposure and contrast errors are automatically corrected. When a new slab is registered two windows come up on the screen. In the first window the operator enters thickness, type of material, a brief description of the slab, supplier, quality and tone of the slab and its location in the warehouse.
In the meantime the photo is taken and displayed in the second window. Using the mouse the operator defines the perimeter of the slab and any defects. With these simple and quick steps the saleable surface area and dimensions of the slab are automatically calculated. The slab code is generated automatically and the bar code label is printed then affixed to the slab manually. The entire process from the moment the slab is photographed up to the completed slab file can take just 1 minute.
3 - Managing stock levels This software offers the possibility of controlling slab stock levels. The slabs are grouped by thickness and material. It is possible to check stock levels either by number of slabs or by total surface area. The operator from this page defines the slabs grouped by thickness and material. It is possible to assign to each group a minimum and maximum stock level. In the event the level of slabs drops below the defined minimum stock level a prompt comes up informing the operator.
2 - Slab search Use the search module to search for a specific slab in the database. A page opens with a filter. Enter slab geometrical or physical data as key search words: material code, material description, slab code, slab description, supplier, tone, location in warehouse, height, length, thickness, surface area, saleable surface area, work order, quantity of defects, quality and date of registration. Once having found the required slab all the information entered when the slab was first registered is provided.
Once having found the required slab all the information entered when the slab was first registered is provided.
By scanning the bar code label on the slab the related program is automatically uploaded to the machine. Breton SPACELASER is now projecting the position of the pods and the slab perimeter.
