FUEGO M u lt ia x is Breton has created an innovative high performance multi-axis monowire machine, through its three decades of experience in the use of numerical controls and its exclusive know-how in the field of diamond wire sawing techniques. The machine can be readily programmed and used to manufacture cylindrical and tapered columns, column cladding, and a range of complex shapes and components for furniture and architecture applications. FUEGO Multiaxis makes easy work of complex shapes thanks to the interpolation of its 10 geometrical axes.

On machines of this type the main critical point is often related to inclination of the diamond wire which, for significant angles, means the arch structure supporting the wheels must drop below ground level, with the resulting need for complex civil works and the enduring presence of deep and potentially hazardous pits on each side of the columns.

To overcome this problem, Breton came up with the idea of mounting a trolley with two 1000 mm diameter sheaves on each column and causing the two opposing trolleys to climb up and down the columns independently. With the Breton design it‘s also possible to saw blocks of up to 1,800mm in height with the wire inclined by +/- 20°, while with the wire parallel to the ground the distance between wire and blockholder cart platform is a generous 2,200mm.
