Take Me Back to Tulsa! TULSA REINING Classic presented by Kimes Ranch celebrates decades of reining fun.

Since its formation in 2003, the Tulsa Reining Classic has evolved into one of the top reining shows in the industry. Originally established by the Oklahoma Reining Horse Association, the event grew and through the leadership and vision of Colleen McQuay and Anne-Marie Burns of Global Reining Sport Group, and along with Cheryl Cody and the team at Pro Management, the TRC became a top-tier event and destination for reiners from all over the country. In early 2021, Pete and Tamra Kyle acquired the TRC and are committed to produce a high-quality, enjoyable event for all levels of riders.

The Tulsa Reining Classic presented by Kimes Ranch is one of the National Reining Horse Association’s Top 10 ranked shows and host of South Central Affiliate Regional Championships. Founded by Matt and Amanda Kimes in 2009, Kimes Ranch began with a dream of filling a void in the western marketplace. With a goal to produce great fitting, quality, long-lasting jeans that bridged the gap between fashion-forward and Western friendly, Kimes Ranch was an underdog when they debuted their first styles of jeans. Functional denim with a mid-rise, straight leg fit, and classic dark denim Kimes Ranch jeans stood out from what was on the market at the time. Often referred to as “the brand with the horns”, Kimes’ catchy logo, company culture, and unmatched quality has created a loyal customer base over their twelve years as a brand. For Kimes Ranch, the roots run deep in the Western Industry, starting with their founders, Matt and Amanda. Collectively, they have amassed many NRHA and AQHA titles throughout their years of showing. Matt Kimes created a name for himself through his youth and

non-pro careers within the AQHA and NRHA. In 1996, he took home both the American Quarter Horse Association’s Reserve Amateur Reining World Champion and the NRHA Derby Non-Pro Champion titles aboard Flash Me A Chic. Matt credits showing and riding horses with helping him in his personal and professional life. “Riding and competing taught me how to have drive, determination and work ethic. Being focused on end goals, growing from your failures, and having confidence in your ability, all came from horses. I didn’t know it at the time, but apparently my parents did.” As many of us can look back on our lives and be thankful for the values that were instilled in our lives through showing horses, this work ethic and drive has been instilled into the culture of Kimes Ranch Jeans and is evident every pair of jeans that is produced. The future of Kimes Ranch jeans is bright, as it has become a favorite among western consumers and has crossed over as a lifestyle brand as well. Additionally, the Kimes family tradition and love for horses continues on in Matt and Amanda’s children. Jack (11), Katherine (9), and Charlie (6) have all begun competing and spend most of their spare time horseback on the family ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona. It’s more than just a brand, it’s a way of life for Kimes Ranch.
