A sci-fi fairy-tale about growing up, sisterly connection, and keeping your inner dreamworld - set on a remote island under a sky filled with stars, comets and moons.

12 year-old Cecelia and her 13 year-old sister Star grew up together on a remote Island famous for its low light pollution and starlit skies. They shared everything together and enjoyed all the same things; adventuring outdoors, reading books about the supernatural and escaping into a make-believe world of stories. But Star is no longer interested in those things and the sisters spend less time with one another. Cecelia refuses to succumb to adolescence and accepts (with some difficulty) her new-found loneliness until a chance meeting with a girl from outer space who grows younger every time she orbits the Sun.

About Ashling

Ashling Lindsay is an Irish artist and writer from Belfast. She has an MA in Design and a BA in Visual Communication, both from Belfast School of Art.

Recent projects include an illustrated biography for the critically acclaimed and internationally bestselling series Little People, BIG DREAMS and an ACES award from the Arts Council NI to develop new work.

Ashling’s first authored picture book, An Unexpected Thing, published in September 2022. Ashling teaches illustration at Belfast School of Art, is a member of Children’s Books Belfast and the Illustrators Guild of Ireland. Contact
