Papworth Hospital Charity A friend of mine recently lost his wife, and his children lost their mother. He was so pleased with the support and care from the doctors and staff at the Papworth Hospital, that he wanted to get involved in fundraising in order to give something back. When we were approached about supporting the Papworth calendar, we were only too pleased to offer our support for such a worthy cause. Papworth Hospital is the UK’s largest specialist cardiothoracic hospital and the country’s main heart and lung transplant centre treating over 22,800 inpatient and day cases and 53,400 outpatients each year from across the UK. Patients travel long distances to see them, confident in the knowledge that they are at the forefront of providing new and innovative treatments for heart and lung patients.
Contact Johno to arrange a personal visit to discuss your requirements in more detail. 07789 860 919 johno@brightsea. co.uk
This pioneering culture has led the hospital to carry out many landmark procedures, such as the UK’s first successful heart transplant in 1979 and the UK’s first beating heart transplant in 2006. February 2012

Staff Spotlight: Mark Commins, MD Mark is a fully qualified printer having gone through Exeter’s print college “The Mint” back in the good old days. His working life, ironically, started at Bartlett Printing in the bindery department (a company he later went on to own). His printing career started at Devon and Cornwall Constabulary running a Heidelberg GTO. During this period, Mark passed his City and Guilds with flying colours. In his pursuit of career advancement and better wages, he moved to Sovereign Print Group, in Sidmouth, running a variety of presses from two and four colours and also a Morgan Web. After returning to Exeter to work for Bowskills and then Medical Sickness, Mark eventually landed at Sprint Print, where he liked it so much he bought the company with his brother-in-law... and the rest is history – and any likeness to Victor Kiam is purely coincidental!
and of course his gorgeous wife of 20 years Lorraine, and children Matt, Jason and Jessica. As a member of the Dawlish Warren Golf Club, Mark is also known to play the odd round of golf and rumour has it that he is actually quite good (only a rumour). Despite constant doom and gloom in the media, Mark’s outlook is positive as he reveals that ‘although 2011 has been a difficult period for most businesses, the team and I have a very optimistic outlook for 2012. We hope that all of our customers will enjoy a prosperous year – happy printing’. Whilst we are all aware that the economy is a far cry from being out-of-the-woods, it is reassuring to know that even in such times, with hard work and a good business model, we can survive and emerge even stronger.
From the comfort of Mark’s armchair, an executive decision has been made to wake him from his slumber and thrust him back into the scary world of sales. Frightening for all! Mark, Phil and Johno, will be pounding the roads to service our esteemed customers, old and new, with the first-class care that we are renowned for. Mark’s position as Managing Director, will continue to see him at the helm of Brightsea, Bartletts and Sprint, otherwise known as the Brightsea Print Group. Mark is one of a dying breed… an Exeter City season ticket holder, sad I know, but it keeps him happy along with his beloved Liverpool,
