Community At Bristol you’re part of a community of over 30,000 students. We are a union for all and we’ll help you create a sense of belonging through our student groups, networks, events, and spaces. Democracy Bristol SU is a member-led democracy. This means that you decide who leads the SU and represents you to University management. This democracy is powered by hundreds of student representatives (‘reps’) who represent your voice. You have reps for your course, faculty, halls, and all aspects of student life. Each year our reps do great things, from introducing microwaves on campus to making sport more affordable.
Events Our student-led events programme has something for everyone! Groups We have an outrageous number of student groups, with over 350 clubs, societies and volunteering projects. Meaning there’s plenty for you to get stuck into during your time at Bristol. You can try something new at a Give it a Go session and meet them all at our Welcome Fair. Knowledge Our highly experienced staff and student representatives offer expert advice, support and information to all students who need it. Intramural We have an Intramural community of almost 3,000 players, in 250 teams, in 9 sports, who play social sport for fun. If you want to do the sports you love without the pressure to perform or train regularly, then Intramural is for you, offering a fun and informal way to exercise with friends. QualityAdvice Our Academic Advice team are here to help with any academic issues. They help hundreds of students each year with their free and confidential service. RichmondBuilding The Richmond Building is the home of Bristol SU. Here you’ll find study spaces, activity rooms, the SU staff offices, the Anson Rooms, the Balloon Bar, and much more! SenateHouse We also have spaces in Senate House, where you can find the Bristol SU Living Room, Bristol SU Loft and The Beckford bar. Come along to relax, unwind, take advantage of kitchen facilities and enjoy the amazing views.
TheVoiceStudent The student voice drives everything we do, and we have so many routes that you can make your voice heard. You can run to be a student course or faculty rep in elections, attend Student Council or the Annual Members Meeting, join a Network and more! University We’re independent from the University but work closely with them to ensure your voice is represented in their decisions. Wellbeing Coming to university can be a stressful and sometimes lonely experience. If you’re struggling with your wellbeing, there are support services available. You You are at the heart of everything we do. We are a Union for all students. Zero Waste We’re super passionate about sustainability and committed to doing our bit for the planet.
