FEI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The FEI Dressage World Championships and FEI Para Dressage World Championships take place at Herning, Denmark from 6-14 August, part of a multi-discipline event which also features jumping and vaulting and is the successor to the World Equestrian Games. NATIONALS TICKETS ON SALE
Tickets for the LeMieux National Dressage Championships are now on sale and a dedicated website with all the information about tickets, the timetable and visitor facilities has been launched at britishdressage.co.uk/

Taking place from 15-18 September at Somerford Park, the championships features action in three arenas over all four days, featuring over 700 combinations, so there’ll be plenty of dressage competition to choose from. Current and future top dressage riders will be competing for the coveted title of National Champion, the popular KBIS Young Horse classes will showcase up and coming talent and Prelim Silver showcases the best of the country’s grassroots sport alongside many more levels and classes.
LINDA WHETSTONE
A memorial service for our Chair, Linda Whetstone, who sadly passed away at the end of last year, has been arranged by her family on Tuesday 18 October at 12 noon, hosted at St Marylebone Parish Church, 17 Marylebone Road, London, NW1 5LT. Following the service, those in attendance are welcome to join the family for a reception at the Royal Institute of British Architects, 66 Portland Place, London, W1B 1AD.
Whilst numbers are unlimited and the invite is extended to all of Linda’s friends and former colleagues, the Whetstone family requests that anyone who is lanning to oin the ser i e onfi r s their attendance by email at: memorial4linda@ gmail.com, by 30 September at the latest. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed, with further details to follow in due course.
The inaugural Linda Whetstone Memorial Trophy will be awarded at the National Championships, for an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to dressage.
IN MEMORIAM: : JONQUIL SOLT JONQUIL SOLT
Pioneer of para dressage Jonquil Solt OBE has passed away at the age of 88.
A former Chair of the International of the International Paralympic Equestrian Paralympic Equestrian Committee (IPEC) and FEI Para Equestrian Committee, on uil as the fi rst erson in equestrianism to receive a Paralympic Order, given to those who have made fundamental contributions to the Paralympic movement.
Jonquil was Founder Chairman of the RDA’s Dressage Committee and became Founder Vice-Chairman of the International Paralympic Equestrian Committee (IPEC) in 1991, before becoming its Chair in 1995. She played a key role in the development of national and international Para Dressage o etitions in luding the fi rst World Championships in the late 1980s and the inclusion of the sport in the araly i a es or the fi rst ti e in Atlanta 1996, where she was President of the Ground Jury.
In another major development for the sport, Jonquil co-signed the cooperation agreement which saw Para Dressage become an FEI discipline in 2006. In doing so it e a e the fi rst araly i sport to leave the IPC and join an international governing body, alongside and on an equal footing with ablebodied athletes.
