at the prestigious institution and has already been dubbed ‘The next big thing’. Never one to be told what to do, Hynes had spent a lifetime fighting against the establishment. This feisty attitude and rebellious nature is something Central Saint Martins thrives upon; those who aren’t afraid to do something different, those who are undeniably innovative, who evolve and who change, and those who take such a rebellious nature and turn it into something beautiful, shocking, and inspiring, those are the McQueen’s of the world.
Article by Sophie Milner Central Saint Martins is the most highly celebrated design college in the world. Like a factory of the spectacular and daring, it produces globally sensational designers on a conveyor belt of raw talent and new vision year after year. Yet the students of Central Saint Martins are far from factory duplicates. Each designer’s DNA is distinctively different and what unites them in their Saint Martins pedigree, is a streak of rebellion. Joanne Hynes is no exception. An ambitious and driven young woman from West Ireland, Hynes studied a BA in Fashion at the Limerick School of Art and Design. Following in the path of some of the greatest designers over the past decades, such as Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, Hynes relocated to London to study an MA in design
During her studies at Central Saint Martins, Joanne Hynes created her own personal revolution that cemented itself deep within the fashion industry. Hynes’ latest collection, entitled ‘Collection 11’, has a very strong, contemporary aesthetic. Jackets and dresses feature powerful yet simple sculptural constructs creating alluring silhouettes featuring a selection of dropped waists, balloon skirts and bell shaped sleeves. The entire collection is a nod to the twenties flapper girl, yet herein lies an futuristic infusion, giving it a refreshingly modern twist, ideal for the refreshingly modern woman. Experimentation is the key ingredient within all of Hynes’ collections. A total rejection of convention, the pieces are heavily embellished with sleek perspex shapes rather than fussy ornamentations. Hynes incorporates modernity through the unusual sartorial substance to create a ‘I’m from the year 3030’ vibe. The collection is relatively simple, clean and concise, yet the adornment adds a touch of atypical drama. Collection 11 features the winter’s most mysterious colours. Midnight na13

Clayspray Mattifying Red Clay effectively fights spots by addressing its core causes: 1. Eliminates excess oil leaving the skin clear and shine-free. 2. Unclogs follicles, where microorganisms involved in acne breed, by removing impurities and excess sebum that block them. Clayspray Mattifying Red Clay has been clinically tested on 20 subjects with signs of oily skin and moderate spots: after 28 days there was a significant decrease in skin surface sebum (-35%) and spots (-23%) without affecting the skin moisture level. - Pure clay emulsion, easy to use always fresh - Is over 95% natural - Is paraben-free - Does not contain preservatives, colourings and artificial perfumes - Not tested in animals

ClaySpray review
Review by Dean Smith
Having used Clayspray’s Mattifying Red Clay for only one week, the results have been instantaneous. I, like so many others, have combination skin, meaning that my T-zone is constantly oily and my cheek area is always rather dry. One fantastic advantage of this product is that it’s not solely designed for the facial region and for those like me who suffer from dry and oily patches, you can apply it wherever it’s needed. The product possesses regenerative properties and is formed from molecules that have the ability to hold 800 times their weight in moisture; meaning that whilst it’s unblocking the pores and removing excess sebum, it’s not drying out the skin to the point where it become an issue.
With most of us living fast paced lifestyles, it’s good to know that this only needs to be applied once a day and that the entire process lasts no more than ordering a Starbucks double espresso. Simply dampen you face with warm water (or for the perfect preparation and added moisture, marry the clay with the mineral rich H2OSpray also by Clayspray) and spread the product over the oily areas on your face and body. Once the clay is dry, which takes approximately 4-5minutes, wash off with warm water. For those that are against animal cruelty, you’ll be happy to know that the brand do not test on animals and that this product is 100% paraben free! 49

Dermaco Skincare Bridal Editor, Rebecca Martin, trials part of the Dermaco skincare range including: a revitalising toner, collagen cream, soothing revival balm and a cleanser. It has been over a month since she began trying the products and her review is glowing.

Love the skin you’re in! After years of leading at the forefront of the skin aesthetics industry, DermaCo have finally answered many a prayer, with the creation of their glorious range. Created in cooperation with Cheltenham based internationally renowned MONU Skincare, the DermaCo Skincare Range merges professional results with natural formulations. The range is thankfully free from chemicals, artificial perfumes and synthetic colours; instead combining a pure and natural ingredients list of essential oils, plant herbs and minerals. The resulting range is an exceptional skincare system, which feels truly luxurious to use. The chic dispensers of the DermaCo Skincare range scream elegance, automatically suggesting the quality of the product within. A cleanser is undeniably the cornerstone of any skincare regime, and DermaCo have definitely hit the nail on the head with a product so exceptionally wonderful that I look forward to using it. Rose and Geranium essential oils lend their incredible scents to not only the
cleanser but several of the products within the range, giving an incredibly soothing aroma. Calming Aloe Vera soothes sensitive skin, leaving it feel cleansed and refreshed, and the wheatgerm and coconut oil left my skin beautifully soft, even before using the toner. Toners definitely create somewhat of a skincare ‘minefield’ for those with sensitive skin, just a tad too harsh and they can cause all manner of irritation! The DermaCo Revitalising Toner has the opposite effect, being soothing, calming and gentle on the skin. Immediately noticeable is the divine scent of the neroli, rose and petitgrain essential oils, all of which combine to leave sensitive skin feeling incredibly soft and supple. The difference in skin tone after regular use for just a few days is vast and I noticed my complexion beginning to really even out. For those people who not only have sensitive, but also dry skin, DermaCo’s Revival Balm and Collagen Cream answer many a prayer for natural, rescue treatments that soothe dry skin without containing artificial irritants
that would only aggravate it. Both the Revival Balm and the Collagen Cream are suggested by DermaCo as being suitable for use after Microdermabrasion and other facial treatments, such are their healing properties. The Revival Balm is a rich, luxurious butter that melts into the skin, the light reflecting pigments combining with soothing essential oils to leave skin radiant and glowing. Marine collagens in the Collagen Cream plump the skin and smooth fine surface lines. Dramatic improvements are noticeable in not just the hydration of dry skin, but also its tone. The quality of the DermaCo system is instantly identifiable, not just through the chic packaging, but even more so through the luxurious textures of the product and their effect on the skin. Building on their vast experience within the industry, DermaCo have created a skincare range to rival all other high end products that have gone before them. This is definitely a skincare system I’d recommend and one which I see myself using well into the future. 51

Banish Blemishes Our guide to exfoliation for long lasting results when it comes to the clarity and softness of the skin
It’s a new year and for some of you perhaps it’s time for a new facial routine. If you’re a young adult and you find that you still have blemishes, which is fairly common, then it’s time to tackle the issue head on, and whilst most of you already know about tools such as the Clarisonic, it’s important that you to understand which products to use alongside it. Acne comedones develop in the hair follicles of the skin from trapped oil and dead skin cells. The bacteria trapped inside those hair follicles leads to inflammation and infection which is what causes ‘break outs’, and if you can’t help yourself from itching the area then unfortunately it’s probably going to cause hyperpigmentation. Not to worry though, get58
ting clear skin is easily achievable for many people, but if you find it especially difficult to clear up those blemishes we’d recommend you seek the advice of a qualified dermatologist. Exfoliation is something that all of our Editors swear by, as it’s the key to healthy, rejuvinated skin. Not only does it increase and encourage blood circulation, it also buffs away those dead skin cells which leave the face looking tired and dull. Repeated use of a good exfoliant over a period of 1-2 months for those with mild hyperpigmentation will leave the skin looking looking clear and feeling soft. For those of you with slightly more to worry about, we’d recommend you exfoliate twice daily for 2-3 months instead, in order to achieve the same results.
Selecting the right exfoliant Without the right exfoliant you may find that your skin becomes irritated or inflamed; it’s of the utmost importance that you consider both your skin type and skin sensitivity. What we mean by this is whether your skin is oily, dry or combination, as well whether you’re sensitive to certain ingredients. If you have sensitive skin or eczema for example, you’ll want to either use a milder exfoliant or simply exfoliate less.
We don’t believe in neglecting any part of the skin when it comes to exfoliation, which is why last month we trialled a few different body scrubs by Bahoma London. Each scrub is beautifully fragranced and contains mineral salt crystals for deep, intense exfoliation. When using these scrubs on the arms and back, not only did the skin become softer, it also became much clearer; helping to dramatically fade scars in both areas. Retailing at just £22.95 for a whopThe routine itself will vary from person to per- ping 200ml, it’s a steal and definitely someson but here is basic guide to what you should thing we’d recommend to all of our readbe considering, depending on your skin type: ers. Good luck on your skincare journey!
Oily
Dry
Those with oily or combination skin have the luxury of being able to select between finely milled exfoliants and those that are more intense. If you have oily skin that means you have a thicker epidermis which produces more sebum. We recommend you look for exfoliants containing witch hazel, tea tree oil, calendula, or cucumber to soothe and tighten the skin, and always moisturise well once you’re finished to rehydrate.
If you’ve got dry skin and you’re considering exfoliation you might be a little nervous that it will further exaggerate those dry areas. In actuality it’s brilliant for clearing up dry patches, but you’ll want to use a light exfoliant regularly, and a slightly harsher one perhaps one or two days of the week. Be sure to follow up with a serum and of course lots of moisturiser - water based ones work wonders for this skin type! 59
BODY With a combination of Rosemary, Rosewood, Mint, Sugar and Salt Crystal, this product works a charm on dry areas of the body such as knees and feet. Clarins Paris Tonic Body Polisher with Essential Oils £31.00 For a salt scrub this is very gentle, probably due to the shea butter it contains. Ideal for daily exfoliation, it’s perfect for those with sensitive skin.

66
Review by Sophie Milner world to be Eco-Certified, meaning it is made from 95% natural ingredients, Tan Organic delivers a beautiful, buildable, bronzed glow without harmful chemicals that dry out and age your skin, and given the time of year, for those of you who desire a beautiful bronzed appearance, this is the ideal brand. The tanning lotion is applied using the TanOrganic luxury application glove. It fits the hand
like a soft foam glove and is double sided, unlike traditional tanning mitts, so that your hand is completely protected. It even has a thumb to make reaching the smallest parts of your body around ankles and wrists even easier. Packaged in smooth brown glass with a golden screw-lid, the lotion bottle looks impressively sleek. The lotion itself is thin in consistency and golden in tone; visible when ap-
plying on the skin, which means no surprise streaks when the colour has fully developed. This is perhaps the biggest bonus as it allows you to continue building the tan to the depth that you desire. When using the lotion I found that it was fast drying and leaves no sticky residue, meaning you can of course get dressed straight away without worrying about leaving any marks on your clothes or bed sheets.
Although TanOrganic labels itself as ‘odourless’ it has a distinctive smell. The golden liquid smells like delicious mandarin oranges, making the application process enjoyable with no biscuity faux-tan smell. Many faux tanners contain hundreds of chemicals, parabens and fragrances, so not only are these nasty chemicals drying out and ageing the skin but they are also getting into your blood
stream. TanOrganic use all natural ingredients which are kind to the skin, such as aloe vera, caramel, beetroot and sugar. The natural ingredients make TanOrganic vegan friendly, ideal for pregnant women, and have allowed the brand to be named as having the only Eco-Certified tanner in the world. I love that it’s hydrating and easy to use, which makes this a must have product for the season!

Firstly you will need to take a visit to your hair stylist. There’s nothing better than a good chop to get rid of all those dead/split ends. (For tip top conditioned hair you should always get your hair trimmed regularly every 6-8 weeks).
2.
1.
Speak to your hair stylist and ask them to assess your hair condition so you can purchase the correct shampoo and conditioner that suits your hair type. They say you pay for what you get - well this is true in the case of your shampoo and conditioner!
Give your hair a break from the use of heated appliances, like hair straighteners, curling tongs and of course the hairdryer, for at least a week - or try blow-drying your hair on cooler setting than normal using a soft bristle brush.

Beauty Treatments Article by Madeleine Spencer
Nataliya Robinson Facial On visiting Nataliya’s treatment room in Knightsbridge, my senses were arrested by the sea of white that make up the sumptuous surroundings. Don’t let them fool you - behind a curtain lies Nataliya’s work station which holds a bounty of high-tech machines and high-impact products. The balance an hour with Nataliya strikes reflects the duality of the room, although you’ll feel very relaxed what you’ll receive is a very firm, very effective treatment. Though I half expected to doze off into a gentle slumber, I was too overwhelmed by her sheer wealth of knowledge, and seized the opportunity to ask many a question. It is therefore rather a good job that she dexterous enough with her hands to not let answering me impede on the treatment - Nataliya is also endlessly patient! All in all I loved the treatment and left with baby soft skin, brimming with confidence and would definitely recommend this ‘experience’ to any busy woman who wants to destress after a long day in the office. 72
Neville Hair & Beauty Blowdry I have on occasion coveted another’s hair. Usually said hair belongs to one of the rare classes of woman (models, heiresses, A-listers and so forth) for whom drizzle and wind seem to inexplicably relent, leaving them blow dried to perfection whilst walking the streets of London. Whilst I can’t promise that the weather will be on your side, I can tell you that more often than not, these perfectly-coiffed creatures have had their locks tended to at Neville, and your chances of looking picture perfect are much increased after a single session there. I opted for the Neville classic: a bouncy, healthy head of hair - think Middleton, I kept my eyes open to the comings and goings of the other clientele. Those coming in had a variety of issues north of the eyebrow, whilst those leaving all sported uniformly beautiful hair. My expectations were high and of course they were exceeded. It was nothing short of a miracle, a thirty minute turnover from limp and lifeless to voluminous and sleek 0 no wonder Alexa is a fan!
Urban Retreat, Harrods Hot Waxing Few purveyors offer all the things you’ll ever need all under one roof, but Harrods have stepped up to the challenge and their Urban Retreat will have you fuzz-free in double time! Furthermore, their wax is not of the ordinary hot wax variety; Harrods have snapped up the new Outback Organics release, Outback Gold, which dries quickly when on and shrink wraps hair prior to the pull-off. The result? Even the most stubborn and tiny of hairs are removed, whilst this is the closest to a pain-free wax I’ve ever had! 73
Chi Yu Integrated Therapy Chi Yu is a Japanese inspired health and wellness centre based in West London. I’ve sent countless friends, family and colleagues into the firm hands of the Chi Yu team for this treatment and all have returned rapturous (some even claiming lifelong ailments felt alleviated). What does it consist of? In short, it is a combination of therapies - meridian massage, reflexology and acupuncture - to redress

imbalances particular to you. The team at Chi Yu are wonderful at understanding the form and this treatment is therefore different for each individual on each separate visit depending on what is necessary. Throw in the fact that this isn’t just a session that is deeply relaxing, but has knock-on benefits, and you could not spend an hour anywhere better to fortify yourself in the lead up to any event!
Manicure At Liberty’s Generally speaking, a manicure typically lasts me just a few days, which is so far from ideal. You may think shellac is the answer, as do many, however I don’t champion the permanent nail movements that have swept London; it simply feels so unusual having something ‘attached’ to the nail. That is not to say that I don’t appreciate a classic manicure that goes the distance without chipping or losing its lustre which is why I swear by Margaret Dabbs Sole Spa Total Manicure, available at Liberty’s. Margaret Dabbs offers the latter with panache using Rococo’s nasty-free polishes. Each time I go for this wonderful manicure it consistently lasts ten full days without losing a whisper of its glossy perfection. This is truly one of the best locations in London to get your manicure done!

Bath, England Bath is a uniquely charming place and the ideal location for those wanting to pamper themselves as a wonderful way to welcome in the New Year. Berlin, Germany Berlin is a city of opposites - both rooted in its past and its enormously vibrant and evolving present. The division of East and West Berlin, demarcated by the Berlin Wall, may have been dissolved and the two disparate parts reunified in 1990, but it is still well worth bearing the two distinct parts in mind when looking around the city - the marks of this time are apparent everywhere.
Our recommendation is to submerse yourself entirely in the culture, and to therefore consider a stay at the Radisson Blu - the AquaDom in the centre of the reception lounge often proves quite popular. After taking a ride in the beautifully built glass lift that journeys through the centre of the cylindrical, 25-foot aquarium, the popularity of this premium hotel will become apparent. Venice, Italy It is hard to think of a time of year during which Venice would not be spectacular, though January and February in Venice is quite something. Almost emptied of the tourists that make summer months next to unbearable in the city, winter offers all the same attractions without the bustle of tourists. Start centrally and work your way out - Piazza San Marco is the best place to get an overview of Venice (and if you head to the top of the Campanile in the square you will quite literally get an view over the city). Then take in some of the vast collections of art housed in the city in the Peggy Guggenheim Col82
lection, Galleria dell’Accademia and Biennale before visiting, Campo Santo Margarita, San Polo and Santo Stefano (where scenes for Casino Royale were filmed) - all typically Venetian. Don’t fall into the trap of eating on the go without advice - food in Venice is as good as it gets, provided you know where to go! Try Birraria la Corte in Campo San Polo for brilliant pizza or Pizzeria Accademia to gaze upon the romantic view of gondoliers gently gliding along the river whilst you dine. Finally, walk: Venice is made for walking and you’ll get the most from the city by simply strolling around it at leisure.
Vienna, Austria The pace of Vienna is far slower than that of most cities, enjoyably so, in fact. It allows for one to see the sights in a rather leisurely manner, without feeling as though you’re somehow rushing from one place to another. It is therefore fitting that one of the most typically Viennese things one could do whilst visiting is to indulge in sumptuous baked goods and a much beloved cup of coffee. Natives give over an afternoon to such simple yet delightful pleasures, and once you’ve seen the inside of the coffee houses that abound in the city, you may also decide to have a naughty nibble on a delicious piece of chocolate torte. Oslo, Norway A bustling and thrilling place, the art scene in Oslo is represented by the curated collection displayed, the food by the fantastic and typically Scandinavian fare on offer. We’d recommend you check yourself into The Thief hotel. Colourful yet luxurious, the design features strong elements of colour, so characteristically Swedish, with emphasis on the bold and the modern. Oslo can be so chilly and the rooms so warm and welcoming, that you may find it difficult to once again venture outside. The Thief proffers all you’d need for a stay from blankets galore to a beauty mini-bar - the ultimate temptation for fashionistas. The 84
world outside of ‘The Thief ’ does have a very distinctive allure and fortunately the hotel is located in the arty district of Tjuvholmen, within walking distance of the centre of the city which is home to everything from juice bars to cavernous shops in which to stock up on everything from household goods (Scandinavians excel on this front) to supplements. You’ll leave Oslo with a sense of euphoria, unable to forget the incredible memories of such an utterly impressive city, and of course, simply dying to go back. TV Chef Dev Biswal
Keep an open mind. Enjoy food and creation of flavours. Don’t feel the pressure of being judged. Be proud of everything you create. You have the most unique relationship with your food which no critic can understand .
This month we sat down with the incredibly talented, motivated and successful TV chef and owner of the award winning Ambrette restaurant in Kent, Chef Dev Biswal. Chef Biswal is nothing short of a culinary genius and before we share a mouth wateringly tempting recipe courtesy of the chef, we bring you a very interesting and insightful interview.

Spice Crusted Fish with Kentish Asparagus
Ingredients
4 x Fillets White Fish (eg. Cod, Hake, Hoki, Mullet, Turbot) 1 x bunch Kentish Asparagus (could be substituted for any green beans in season) trimmed & cut into 2.5” pieces 5ml Kentish Oil Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil Salt to taste
For the Marinade
25ml Kentish Oil Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed oil 5mg Ground Turmeric 5mg Ground Red Chilli 10mg Crushed Coriander 10mg Crushed Fennel Seeds 5mg Onion Seeds 5mg Crushed Green Cardamom Seeds 2 x tsp salt Juice of half a lemon
For the Sauce
25ml Kentish Oil Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil 5mg Mustard Seeds 1 x Chopped Red Onion 2” piece of Finely Chopped Ginger Half a Chopped Green Chilli 1 x Medium Sized Tomato Finely Chopped 10mg Ground Turmeric 100ml Coconut Milk
Process
Mix all the ground and crushed spices, seeds, salt and lemon juice in the Kentish Oil to create the marinade. Place the fish in a shallow dish and add the marinade ensuring the fish is entirely covered. Place the dish in the fridge and allow to rest for 1 hour. First heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan and fry the fish to sear well on all sides taking care not to burn the spices. Finish cooking the fish in a pre-heated oven (180°- 200°C) for 10 minutes. For the sauce, heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds. When they splutter, add the chopped onion and chopped ginger and cook for around 3 minutes on a medium heat until the onion and ginger are soft. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook together for 3 to 4 minutes and then add the green chilli. Now add the ground turmeric. Finally add the coconut milk and adjust the seasoning to taste. Simmer the sauce on a low heat for 8-10 minutes This recipe was provided courtesy of Chef Dev Biswal

Chinese Recipes
Drunken Kyushu Crab (Starter)
Ingredients / Prep *Blue king crab imported from Kyushu, Japan (chef Miki picks only live crabs that weigh 400 grams or above). The taste of blue king crab is sweeter than local or Russian crabs and the texture is more tender as the fat & meat is more evenly distributed. *The magic of this dish lies in picking the right year of Shao Hsing Hua Tiao (Chinese Yellow wine) to bring out the fresh and sweet taste of crab meat, whilst maintaining a perfect balance with the strong flavour of the wine.
Method 1. First, pick the right year of Shao Hsing Hua Tiao (Chinese Yellow wine). Chef Miki usually uses 5 to 8 years, or 10 to 12 years aged Shao Hsing Hua Tiao, depending on the weight and condition of the crabs. 2. Add soy sauce, sugar and spices into the wine. 3. Soak live crabs in Chinese Yellow wine for 10 days before preparing and serving. 91

Method 1. For the sauce - mix Japanese rice vinegar, Chinese brown vinegar, apple vinegar, apple paste, soy sauce and sugar together until the sugar and apple paste dissolve. 2. Slice the yellow and red pepper. 3. Slice the pork and mince it. Season with salt, pepper and sake. 4. Mould the minced meat into a ball and roll in corn flour before deep frying. 5. Slightly fry the peppers. 6. Put the sauce into a wok with a little water, then add meat balls and stir fry quickly with sesame oil – then serve. 95

14T WAYS S H o tay
Hydrate
It is important to keep hydrated throughout the day. Not only will it help you feel satiated, but it will give your skin a healthy glow. Choose between water with a few drops of lemon or green tea which is a delicious antioxidant rich choice.
100
ealthy Alchohol
Swap sugary cocktails for a shot of liquor over ice or with a splash of soda water. It will keep the calories to a minimum and still allow you to go out and have fun. Of course wine spritzers are always a great choice.
Drink or Dessert
Breakfast
Decide ahead of time which you prefer. Take a moment to scope out the room and if there are no deserts that you absolutely have to try, then go ahead and have a drink. Otherwise stick to soda water with a twist of lemon and enjoy a decadent treat.
Keep your metabolism going by starting the day with a healthy breakfast including protein, fibre and carbohydrates. This balances sugar levels and you’ll be less likely to reach for calorific snacks. A great choice is an egg white omelette and some fruit.
Snacking
Eat Clean
Make sure you have healthy snacks on hand. Apple wedges, carrot sticks and nuts are a great choice. Eating every few hours keeps sugar levels stable and stops overeating. Remember to never attend a party when you are hungry as this is the perfect recipe to gorge yourself on rich foods.
Whenever at any event such as a dinner party, scope out the healthy foods such as salads, soups, fresh pastas or seafood. Pile fresh fruit and vegetables high on your plate whilst keeping pastries, cheeses and creams to a minimum.
D.I.Y
Say No
If you work in an office all day then making your own meal in the morning is a better option than grabbing a packet of crisps or chips at lunchtime. Steamed vegetables and fresh fish are a delicious choice. Best of all, you will have full control over what you are eating.
Remember you are completely in control of what you allow yourself to eat. When your loving aunt offers you a second helping, simply smile and say that you are saving room for her delicious desert, then politely change the subject.
Exercise
Portions
Take twenty minutes to do some lunges, squats, push-ups and sit-up. Even if you only have a few minutes a day, any movement you do will help burn off extra calories. Exercise will also help to keep you toned and looking fabulous in that perfect little black dress.
Portion control is one of the most important things when it comes to staying in shape. Once in a while it’s fine to treat yourself to something sinfully delicious, but make sure the portion is moderate. This will eliminate the feeling of guilt, and keep you on track.
Motivate
Eliminate
Motivation is important. Keep pictures of yourself at your current weight and take one picture every 10 days to document your weight loss. If you have these on display and you’re thinking of giving up, those pictures will serve as a reminder of just how far you’ve come.
Eliminate the things in your life which make you stressed and if that’s not possible, tackle the issue. Many people overeat as a form of comfort but at then left feeling even worse. Be honest with yourself and if this is you, break the pattern.
Say Goodbye
Detox
Clean out your fridge and freezer, and whilst you’re at it, clear out the cupboards also. Whether or not you live alone, it’s important, especially at the beginning, not to have any form of temptation in your way. That means goodbye Fox’s Biscuits, hello sparkling water and fresh pears.
Sometimes it’s neccessary to have a detox. One of the best ways to shed some pounds and kick start a weight loss journey is by doing a liquid diet. That means soups and fresh smoothies for at least a few days to cleanse your body of toxins and have you feeling refreshed.

Maternity
Made Chic Article by Maggie Reid Pregnancy is a roller coaster of emotions that begins with excitement, fear, and trepidation about the impending labour. It is a special time of nurturing and change, but also when a woman can feel vulnerable and self conscious in terms of body image . Maternity wear used to be about concealing the baby bump beneath billowing tunics, leggings and poorly cut dresses, leaving women to despair at lack of choices available. Women often resorted to buying a bigger size in high street labels only to be disappointed with the cut and fit which did not allow for an ever growing tummy. However,
the
news is that maternity wear really has been transformed and there are gorgeous luxury labels that allow women to feel confident in well tailored, quality fabrics. Kate Middleton, it has to be said, has been a real ambassador for pregnancy fashion. One of her most noteworthy ensembles was the tartan buttoned coat she wore on a school visit that had impeccable tailoring, which is always key.

LUXE Lefkada
Honeymoons
Photoography by Panos Mavromytis
Article by Moira Valenti As your wedding is set to be the most memorable and magical day of your life, then an individually designed boutique destination wedding on this beautiful Island is worth serious consideration. Initially, a fee is agreed, then your vision and your budget are put to work to create a dream come true. The scene is set to be utterly unforgettable having all the elements a dream honeymoon should have: romantic hideaways with gorgeous views: Blue skies and azure seas set along sparkling sands. Lefkada meaning ‘white,’ describes the gleaming white cliffs to the south of the Island. This ‘hidden gem,’ just west of Greece, not only boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world it also hides a wealth of history, tucked-in amongst its romantic and tranquil villages. The Island is ‘connected’ by a causeway and a floating bridge, all within 20 minutes of the airport at Perveza. Off the tourist track, it is well known to jet setters, celebrities and the glitterati, having witnessed Giorgio Armani, Bill Gates and Prince Albert of Monaco on its shores; to the East is
Skorpios, formerly owned by Aristotle Onassis, to the south, Vassilki, renowned for water sports and Cape Lefkada where the female poet Sappho is said to have leapt to her death from the 30m high cliffs. If the fancy takes you, there are the water sports, glorious water falls to admire, you might choose to charter a yacht, Agios Nikitas, set in the west is a traditional fishing village with unforgettable sunsets and in the North, Milos Beach in Agios Ionaiss, known as the windy beach, offers the best kite and windsurfing in Europe. There are the world famous beaches of Porto Katsiki and Egremni nestled on the South West coast, alongside many delightfully deserted beaches throughout the Island for those in search of seclusion, peace and tranquillity. The delightful atmosphere is capped by the friendly and welcoming inhabitants placing Lefkada high on the list of honeymoon locations for discerning Brides and Grooms to be. Your Thoughts On British Fashion
Your opinion matters which is why we asked you to send in your thoughts about British Fashion and here’s what you had to say...
“I LOVE British fashion. London is my favourite place in the whole world to people watch. I’m always telling people how much I love Londoners style… It’s so inspiring! British fashion doesn’t inspire me to dress the same but it inspires me to be unique, to be an individual…. to follow my desires. And just talking about it makes me want to go back there, grab a coffee and sit and watch the cool people wander past. Ahhh..!” -Sechys from Australia
I think of rebellious vs polished, experimentation vs history… From McQueen to Burberry. British style icons are like no one else – Kate Moss, Kate Middleton, Alexa Chung and now Emma Watson. Even Anna Wintour is from London. The Met exhibit AngloMania did an amazing job laying out the history. –Tonie. Portland, Oregon USA

I think of class and refinement, with a hint of edge, when I think of British fashion. Burberry, and Christopher Bailey, come to mind first. Also (and unrelated), I’m such a fan of the crazy fascinator hats; they’re essentially our version of elegant derby hats. –Stephanie. Orlando, Florida USA
I love it!! When I think of British fashion, two words come to my mind: Quirky and edgy.-Ruzin. North Carolina, USA
I really appreciate British designers. They have a terrific history of re-imagining fashion. My favorites are/were Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. They epitomize unconventional fashion. –Sharon. USA
I love British fashion, I think our style is so versatile because we’re constantly dressing for the bipolar British weather. There’s always so much layering with statement pieces and bursts of colour. – Emily. UK
I think it’s preppy, makes me think of oxford shoes and creepers. I love their street style - Vianey González, Panama
I like British fashion, as there is a fondness for experimenting. More so there, than here –Kajsa, Oslo
Progressive, creative. Can I say Jessie J and stylishly so. –Karen. Atlanta, USA
I love Vivienne Westwood, she is a brilliant designer!!!!!! –Paola. Italy
My favourite British designers would be Alexander McQueen, and Sarah Burton - Bhushavali, Chennai India
I love British fashion! For me, it represents a mixture of conservative tendencies and amazing innovative designers! This contradiction makes British fashion so unique! -Petra, Prague Czech Republic 141

Don’t blame the dog. Blame the irresponsible owner. 142

Article by Moira Valenti We are a nation of dog lovers and on occasion our passion doesn’t live up to our ability to provide the care and attention our fury friends need. Pester power to provide what seems the ultimate Christmas gift, a puppy, can all too sadly end in pets being abandoned and in need of rescue. Britain is blessed with having many animal charities whose aim is to aid, resuscitate and re-home pets who have suffered neglect or require re-homing. This month we are showing our support for the incredible work done by the RSPCA, with a particular focus on the care and rescue of Staf-
