NOTE Welcome to British Polo Day Jaipur 2016, presented by RJI Capital. The British Polo Day global platform has seen us celebrating British Luxury Heritage in some fantastic locations. Gala dinners on the Great Wall of China, Fashion Shows in Indian Palaces and excursions into the Atlas mountains that surround Marrakech to name but a few. All this while raising money for good causes around the world to leave a legacy far beyond what we thought was possible when we began this adventure. To mark the start of the 6th British Polo Day India we start with the second British Polo Day Jaipur at the Ra jasthan Polo Club, Jaipur has a rich heritage of Polo and todays game between the British Army and the Jaipur Polo Team will be a thrilling encounter. The aim of a British Polo Day is to continue the tradition of playing high quality amateur polo against friends in host countries whilst also acting as a platform for Britain around the world. We are proud to partner with some of the best companies and brands, including RJI Capital, Harrods, Royal Salute, Bentley, British Silverware and Hackett. British Polo Days stem from a love of the history and traditions of the ancient sport of polo and a recognition that the Γ’€˜international language of the horseΓ’€™ can bridge cultures, bringing people together on a global scale. We do hope you enjoy the day.

RULES OF PO L O 1
The green player has the line, and at fair speed the white player would be crossing the line without a sufficient safety margin, resulting in a penalty against white.
3
When travelling in the same direction the white player may draw level with green player and then force him across the line and take possession of the ball without committing a dangerous foul.
5
Two players riding for a ball from opposite directions in the open must both give way to the left and take the ball on their right or offside.
2
Even at a far lesser angle the white player would still be crossing the line if he continues in that direction, and committing a dangerous foul.
4
The white player may move in parallel with the line and play a shot providing he can do so without interfering with the green playerΓ’€™s mount or causing him to check back. If white would cross the line to the dotted position it would be a foul.
6
When two players are approaching a ball in the open from different directions, the player (white), with the line of the ball on his offside, right hand side, has right of way.

Brompton Bicycle is the largest bike manufacturer in the UK, with its factory in Greenford, West London. Bromptonβs history can be traced back to 1975, when the British inventor, Andrew Ritchie, created prototypes of Brompton bikes from his bedroom in South Kensington, London. The company remains in private hands and is now led by Will Butler-Adams OBE, though Andrew Ritchie continues to act as Technical Director. Today, Brompton bikes are sold in 44 export markets. Brompton bikes are most often seen flying around cities but have also proven to be great steeds in the game of Bicycle Polo in recent years. Their speed off the mark and technical build ensure a thrilling game of Bicycle Polo from the first chukka to the last. Bicycle Polo was invented in County Wicklow, Ireland, in 1891 by retired cyclist, Richard J. Mecredy. Two centuries on and itβs being played in over 17 countries worldwide. It was officially recognised by the International Cycle Union (UCI) in 2001.
